Mail for Santa

Hello everyone,
I do hope you are all having a good weekend.  I decided that I would take the day off from, packing, cleaning and sorting, and just make some cards. I am running late with some challenges, but have now made them and will get them in on time,
The first one is a Christmas card, which is for the Christmas challenge at DS4J. The image we received this month is Santa's letter, and if you are not playing in the progressive challenge then you can get it HERE. If you would like to play in the challenge, then you have to request the new image from Desire and if you enter the card then you will get the new image the following month. A great way to get going with your Christmas cards...it isn't too late to start now!

Here is what I used:

Paper was from a Christmas paper pad I have had for ages. There is very little of it left.
Image - Santa's letter coloured with distress inkpads, added texture paste for the snow and some glitter over that. Ccut it out and mounted with silicone.
The diecut is from Joycrafts - Winter wishes and I added some glitter to that as well.
Sentiment is also a Joycraft one.

I did try and follow the sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge

At least my Christmas card collection is growing, but I do need to make at least 2 a month and I have been slipping the last month or so.

Will enter this in the following challenges:

Completely Christmas #18...Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge #183...Let's get sentimental..add a sentiment
Digi Design challenge...Lots of layers
Digi Sketch Challenge...sketch/feeling blue
My time to Craft #252...Christmas in June
My Perfect Life challenge #25...Any Christmas card goes
Christmas Card  challenges #31...Anything goes
The Squirrel and The Fox #73...Christmas in July

I hope to be back later tonight with my second card, but I do need to watch a football match that will start soon in South America, and the Dutch team needs my support...LOL, so till later....

Take care, love, Ursula

Just for fun!

HappySunday friends,
Today I have a card to show...not a DT card...this one, just because I wanted to make a card.
As I had previously mentioned my son, dil and grandies have been here for 3 weeks. I also had a birthday 2 months ago and they brought me some lovely gifts ...Dutch Doobadoo stencils and more Pan Pastels, so of course I had to have a bit of playtime with these.

Here is what I used:

Paper - red cardstock. The I used one of the new stencils and my Pan Pastels and created some background paper. It is not too visible here, but I had fun just playing. I used theDoobadoo sunshine stencil and colours from the butterfly that I had  coloured first and a butterfly punch in the one corner.

Image is a Joycrafts stamp, Silhouette Butterfly. Again I played with a stencil and first coloured the paper before stamping. The butterfly was also coloured with the Pan Pastels using the new set of shades.

I added some fibre under the stamped image. Finished it off with a twine bow and a charm, also a few pearls.

Sentiment - Whiff of Joy stamped onto a banner.

I must say I had fun making this and am entering the following challenges:
Sister Act Card challenge #56...Anything goes
Polkadoodles challenge Wk 18...Something old, something new..(Old - twine & charm...New - stencils and Pan Pastels)
613 Avenue Create challenge #70...Anything goes

Well here I am again,
This week at Digistamps4Joy it is the midway reminder for challenge #91...Water, water everywhere. Mt teammate Berni is hosting this challenge and you can use any image relating to water.
It was quite difficult to choose a digi for this as there are several lovely water related ones. Having been away last week at a Wildlife and Fishing resort, the peace and tranquillity of that place, just made me choose this image...Lake Malawi. We were nowhere near there but it just seemed as peaceful.

Image - Lake Malawi, can be found HERE
coloured with distress inkpads and matted onto navy cardstock

The DT have made fantastic cards for inspiration, so I invite you to go and have a look at them.
Do come and join in the fun. If you don't have a DS4J image you can still enter, but you get an extra chance if you do use one of their images

I love that season, but not the one that follows.

Thanks for popping in and have a great week, will be back tomorrow with another DT card.
 Till then take care.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz..choose your colours...

Good morning friends,
Today at  The Outlawz we have another special colour challenge where you get to make some choices.

The photo this week was the choice of Ina. The colour we are required to use is Rose red and 2 colours of your choice, just tell us which they are. You also get to decide the twist, so don't forget to mention what it is.

For my card I used the colours Rose red, green and grey.
The twist is to add metal.

Recipe:
Red cardstock.
DP from a paper bloc 'Back in Time' from Joycrafts. It was very light green so added extra colour with Pan Pastel chalks.

Clock diecut is from Marianne Designs. Cut it from silver foil and coloured it with alcohol inks.

The sentiment was found on the internet, printed and cut with an X-cut die.

Added 3 buttons.

I think it can be a good masculine card as well.

Time for a cupcake

Good morning friends and a happy Wednesday to all,
Yes I think it is time to relax with a delicious cupcake and tea. Had a busy and frustrating week....computer woes, and classes and orders...won't bore you with details, I think a cupcake is just the right thing.
My card today was made last week, but due to some problems couldn't get it posted till now. It was made for the Duo challenge, if you have requested the template you have to submit a card, and I am getting in just before the deadline.

I used papers from my stash for layering the cupcake.
The image is a one of a number of new images from Digistams4Joy called Cupcake Cindy.   I thought she was so cute and decided to use her here. Coloured with watercolour pencils, cut out and popped us with foam dots.
The teapot is a new die from Joycrafts that I had  just received, and added a little tag.
The sentiment is from a set that I have, don't know the name.

I will be entering some challenges with this card;

Duo challenge
Celebrate the occassion no. 164..Anything goes
Crafty Sentiments..Anything goes
Creative Card Crew 11..Dimension
Party Time Tuesday..Anything goes.
Love to Create...Add a sentiment

That's all from me today. Thanks for visiting and would love to have your comments,
Take care, have fun and see you soon.

Flowers for the Colour challenge

Good morning friends,
Tuesdays are always colourful, especially at The Outlawz, with our  Colour challenge and this week is no exception. The colour pallette and inspirational picture was chosen by my Teamie Teresa with the twist being to use an inking or painting technique.

Our sponsor for the month of May has been Dearie Dolls Digi stamps and the prize is the set of images used by the DT during the month.

For my card this week I decided to go with flowers.

For my inking technique, I inked up an embossing folder with Distress inkpads, inserted the paper and ran it through the cuttlebug. The folder is one I bought while in The Netherlands last year, and has no name to it.
I cut 3 sets of daisies with a Joycrafts die, attached them with a brad.  Added some bling centres to the embossed flowers and coloured the little hearts.
The sentiment is from my stash, cut with a label die and attached with ribbon.

There are some lovely cards made my the members of the Design Team, so pop on over and see what inspires you, then join us with your creation.
I will enter this in a few challenges:
Made Especially For You ...Use 3 of something...3 brads

Will be back soon, in the meantime have fun and take care
