Last Sunday of 2012..new images at DS4J

Good morning friends,
Not much more left of this year, but still a Sunday, so new images at Digistamps4Joyfor the last time this year.
You want to go and have a look at the lovely new designs that are available and see what the DT have made with soime of them.
This is my card using one of the New Year images

 

 

The front of the card I put through the CB using a 'Crafts Too' folder that I thought was just perfect for a celebration. It has a plain rectangle piece in the centre which I cut out and positioned the image so that the 2013 would show through.....so nice about digis that you can make them the size you need.

I added some colour with distress inkpads and a bit of glitter.

On the inside I  placed the image and coloured it with distress ink and lots of glitter. It doesn't really show up too well. The sentiment was computer generated.

 

I do hope you will have a look at the new images, there are some lovely ones if you are still needing a New Year's greeting.

Merry Christmas with a colour challenge

Hello to all my friends,
Christmas wishes are coming your way. I hope that you all get to spend the day with family and friends and that it will be a wonderful day filled with Peace, Joy and togetherness. We had a lovely Christmas eve celebration with some of the family, and today a relaxed day with more family, enjoying a lovely lunch and the pleasure of family time.

The colour challenge for this week at The Outlawz was the choice of Margaret, and this was the inspirational photo, with the twist being to use a diecut.

I decided to make a gift card holder this week, as I still needed a few for my Christmas gifts.

 

 

The corner diecuts were made with  Noor design die by Joy and the large one using a Marianne design die.

I made a small envelope instead of using a gift card, as mine was for a monetary gift.

Christmas gift card holder

Good evening friends,
One day to go....all my gifts are wrapped and under the tree,  so this will definitely be my last Christmas card, which is also a gift card golder. It is a twisted card and is so perfect for a voucher or gift card.

 

 

As this is for my teenage grandson, I used a craft Christmas paper and the sleigh and reindeer are from Marianne Design dies. The tree is from a Lea'bilities die.

On the inside I made my own patterned paper with a stencil from Crealies and  distress ink.

A very quick card to make and very effective hope he likes it, I know he will love the gift card.

There's something magical about Christmas...

Good morning blogging friends and a happy Wednesday,
Wow just think of it...this time next week all the rush will be over and done for another year. We are having a short week as we had a holiday yesterday, so of course the days are a bit mixed up...but it is Wednesday and it is challenge #57 at Digistamps4Joy with the theme..."Christmas Fantasy"...there's something magical about Christmas.
This challenge will run for 3 weeks, giving the DT some time off over Christmas, so after the rush give yourselves a bit of time off and come and join in with the fun. Have a look at the challenge blog
as both teams are showing their creations this week, so lots of inspiration.
This is the card I made for this challenge:

 

It is a T-bar card, which is really so easy to do, and here is a side view of it

 

 

The image is called Front door Christmas Tree and you can find it  HERE.
I coloured it with distress inks, and put in the brick effect as a background.For the tree I used flower soft, with some gems inbetween
The Designer paper is from a pad of Winter papers by My Mind's eye.
The sentiment is from a set of Papermania stamps from last Christmas.

Something with wings at the colour challenge

Good afternoon friends,
Alittle late with my posting, but I braved the shopping mall for a few items I still had to get....so pleased I could escape quickly.

Tuesday is the Colour challenge at The Outlawz and this week the colours and inspirational photo was chosen by Teresa, who loves birds and has gorgeous parrots, so it isn't surprising that the twist is "add wings"

For my card I used a Craftyindividuals stamp that has butterflies and a bird on it. I punched a butterfly and mounted it on the larger one, and I added some glitter to the bird with a gem for the eye.
The yellow cardstock I put through the cuttlebug with a butterfly folder. Finished it off with pearls, a button and some twine. Not too fussy, but I quite like the look of it.

Another Christmas card

Good morning friends,
The last weekend before Christmas is almost done, but we have a bonus in South Africa. Today is a public holiday...Reconciliation Day...and so we are lucky to have tomorrow as another holiday...yes a long weekend. This is also the start of the big holiday season. The schools are all closed, industry closes in the main, for the summer holidays, and the mass exodus of people to the coast and other holiday destinations. If  you are lucky enough to stay home, the roads are less busy and lovely summer weather to enjoy.

I am very short on Christmas cards, but this one was made for a friend.

 

The patterned papers were some from my stash left over from previous years. The white card with the holly leaves was done with texture past, using a stencil from Crealies. The Christmas trees are from a Lea'bilities die, just cut them apart and mounted with foam tape. The star and the pointsetia are Marianne Design dies. Finished off with a sentiment from last year's Papermania set and some beads and pearls.

DS4J challenge 56..Midway reminder

Goodmorning friends,
Today, in case you haven't noticed is a once in a lifetime date. 12/12/12, and if you are reading this at 12h12, then that is even more special.

The current challenge at Digistamps4Joy is a Recipe with the theme "Baby it's cold outside". There are some wonderful cards for your inspiration made by my fellow teamies, and we have a guest designer as well this week, so I urge you to go and have a look at what they have created.

The image I have used is Winter face,available HERE coloured with distress inks,and added texture paste for the fur around her hood, the some crystal glitter. Cut it out and mounted with foam pads.

The papers are from a pad by Leanecreatief..winter design. also a doily using a MD die. The snowflakes with glitter added are cut with a CB die.

The sentiment is computer generated,

No card for the Colour challenge at The Oulawz.

Good morning friends,
Dare I say it....2 weeks to go to Christmas. Hope all your preparations are going well...I need more time LOL.
Today I don't have a card, but I have decorated a tin for my project on the colour challenge at The Outlawz.

 

  This week the colour palette and inspirational photo were chosen by Roxann, with a twist to add glitter.

 Our sponsor for this month is Digi my World with a gift certificate of $10 for the winner.

There are some gorgeous cards made by the DT for your inspiration, so I hope we will come and join us with your projects.

When I saw the names given to the colours on the photo I immediately thought of a tin to decorate and that is just what I did. I need a few containers for some gifts, so this is one of them.

The papers are just from my stash, and the green, not quite a lime green was cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

The decration for the lid was made using  Marianne Design dies for the doily as well as the flower. I cut the flower petals and then folded them slightly before glueing them back, and of course...the
glitter.
Finished off with a bow.

I was very happy with it and will be doing a few more for gifts.

Christmas ornaments

Hello blogging friends,
Saturday is now almost a thing of the past here in South Africa, but I wanted to get this post done, as tomorrow is probably another busy day. I also just want to welcome my new followers, hope you will find some inspiration and come back often, I also love to read your comments.

The card I made was for the sketch challenge at The Outlawz.

I still need to make Christmas cards, so decided I may as well combine it with a challenge. I used my Spellbinder Christmas ornaments dies and cut them from various papers, added a piece of gold thread and mounted them with foam pads.
A red hibiscus in the corner finished it off. I stamped a sentiment a few times.

I do not make very many CAS cards, as I always feel it needs something else, but this time I left it at this point.

December freebie at DS4J

Good morning everyone and a happy Friday to you all.
Yes it is the first Friday of December and a freebie available at the Digistamps4Joy shop. As we are nearing the start of a new year, it is a little different from the usual freebie... being a calander for 2013.

The card that I made is a double easel,which will stand on my craft desk in the coming year.

 

 

I used the image Cool cat clan, coloured with watercolour pencils. The paper is from a pad with no name, from a local stationers. Added a pad of post it notes and a hand written tag.

 

I think I will use this calendar to make some new year give-aways to some of my customers.

Colour challenge...The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
Yes it is a good sunny morning after  days of rainy, misty, cool mornings we are back into summer, and it is also good because being Tuesday  I get to show my card for the  colour challenge at The Outlawz..


 This is the first of our December Delights and the inspirational photo and colour palette was chosen by Laurian, with the twist to add bells. 

This month our sponsor is Digi my World with a $10 gift certificate for the winner.








I decided to go with a Christmas card this week, as I had all the colours for it.

 

 The background is fabric not paper, (was a bit of a challenge to photograph). The music paper was a download, cut with a Marianne Design die, as were the bells cut from mirror board, The trees were cut with a Lea'billities die and some gold rubbed on.

Very quick to put together and I rather liked the result. Have some other pieces of fabric that I might use on cards this year.

The paper is from a pad of Joy crafts, the diecuts are Noor design and I coloured the image with Distress inks and added some frosted lace on the dress.

The Outlawz...a new colour challenge

Good morning and a very happy Wednesday,
Can't believe only 2 more days and we will be into that busy, magical month of December. I will enjoy that, as my classes have finished for the year, and the last of the markets are this weekend, so things are winding down here in my little craft business.

For my card I made a Z-fold and used my new Memory box die, that I have wanted for sometime now. "Chloe stem". The sentiment is from a local company Country Crafts, and I cut it with a Nestie die and mounted on 3D. Quite a plain card, but I rather like it.

DS4J challenge #55...reminder

Happy Wednesday friends,
Yes we are over the hump and looking forward to the weekend, with so much happening.
This is a reminder of our challenge at Digistamps4Joy, with the theme 'Be Thankful' and it comes just at the right time, so that I can wish all my American friends a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. May you have a wonderful time with family and friends and if you are travelling...be safe.
On to my card:

 

I am thankful for my wonderful supportive family and especially my 9 grandchildren. The image I used is 'let's go' and it represents my grandsons and granddaughters. I didn't think I could fit 9 little characters on the card, so this is for all of them....Let's go kiddos..

I coloured with Distress inks, and the papers are all from an old pad of Wilson & Maclagan, of which I now only have pieces left over.

I made it to a sketch from The deconstructed sketch. The first time I have used one.

The sentiment was computer generated.

Another Tuesday, another colour challenge

Good morning friends,
Summer has really arrived here in our part of South Africa. The last few days temps between 28 and 32 deg.C, not what I really enjoy,  if I could stay at home all day and sit under the trees, that would be great,  but.....  no such luck.

Anyway on to business. Today is a new colour challenge at The outlawz, and here is my card.

 

I used an image from Delicious Doodles, who is the sponsor for this month. Coloured it with distress inks, and die cut  it with a Nestie die. Used a Noor design die  and coloured some seam binding for my fabric twist, added pearls to finish

.

 

The colour palette and inspirational photo was my choice this week and the twist was to add fabric.

Sunday with new releases at DS4J

Good morning friends and a happy Sunday to all,
Today as  usual there are a whole lot of gorgeous new images being released at   Digistamps4Joy.

The one that I have used on my card is Neighbour Nancy, and she reminded me of when we travelled in Europe in some of the small villages, you could see the neighbours chatting away to one another, while we were going about our touristy business in the streets below.

 

The background paper is from Marianne Design ...La Musique... and for the window frame I used a Marianne Design Creatable # LR0190, just cutting of the top part.

I printed out the image, and cut it out, raising it with silicone. I added some extra flowers in the flower box.

Pearls to finish and the sentiment was stamped onto the paper.

Thanksgiving and GD spot

Good morning friends,
Here we are at the end of another week, and to day I am honoured to post a card as GD at Guylou's Inimitability.

With American Thanksgiving  just around the corner, there are so many things to be thankful for and it is a great time to say thank you to everyone who touches us in some way. So the challenge theme is 'Thanks for everything'

 

I have used the image Gabrielle on my card, coloured with twinkling H20's and cut out with a Nestie die. The background paper is from Jak Heath who has in the past made available some beautiful patterned papers as freebies. I just love them all. The sentiment is computer generated and finished off with ribbon and some pearls.

Tuesday is colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good evening friends,
I am a little late showing my card for the colour challenge at The Outlawz.

 

I decided to do something a bit differents this week. I masked the flowers, then cut out the centres with a smaller die and used some colours from the colour palette for the flowers, a little bit of doodling, some gems and pearls to finish off.

The sentiment is a peel off.

Bead fairy...new release at DS4J

Good morning all,
Hope everyone is having a funtastic weekend being creative or whatever else you enjoy doing.
Today as is usual there are new releases at Digistamps4Joy and I have used Bead Fairy to make my card.

I coloured her with Twinkling H20's, added tiny beads and glitter. Cut out with a Nellie Snellen die, mounted it with foam pads, over a Marianned Design doily and some other paper pieces. The sentiment is computer generated.

Bingo with a difference

Happy Wednesday friends,
A quick welcome to my new followers. Thank you for joining me and I hope you will be back often to see what inspires me.
Today is the midweek reminder for Digistamps4JoyChallenge #54. This week it is ..BINGO with a difference.
I have chosen the diagonal row...no purple, no ribbon, HEART, no gems, no halloween for my card






For this card I used the image 'vase of hearts' coloured with Twinkling H20's. I cut it out mounted with foam pads on the DP..Le Chateau of Kaisercraft and then mounted a frame cut with a very old CB die from After five collection also by Kaisercraft.

 

I hope you will join in this fun challenge and have a look at the amazing cards made by the other ladies on the DT. There are great prizes to win, and you don't have to have a DS4J image, but you will get extra chances if you do. Hope to see you there.

Vintage twist at The Outlawz

Good afternoon friends,
Hope the week has gotten off to a good start for everyone. I am pretty much over my cold, so at least feel like doing something again.
I have a card today, but not sure where my mind was when I made this. It is for the colour challenge at The Outlawz
.
 The inspirational photo and colour palette was chosen by Teresa, with the twist being vintage. Now anyone looking at this colour palette will wonder where the green is on my card....Yes I have a green but when pulling out the papers I had taken a few greens, and then decided what to use, and forgot all about looking at the colours again, till I was ready to do this posting.....Can you believe it...I did use a tan, and a sort of a brown, but the camera decided it was more pink...Please forgive my colour choices this week.

The DP I used was from paper pads of Marianne Design...La Musique and Vintage Pastels

The image is one from Dlicious Doodles, coloured with Distress inks.

Added a lacy corner diecut from Noor Designs, pearls, and lace to finish.

Gilly Gluwein and other new releases at DS4J

Happy Sunday morning everyone,
Hope the weekend is going according to plan. I have come down with a rather annoying cold, but I guess it will be gone soon.
This is my card I made with Gilly Gluwein one of the 10  new releases at DS4J today.

 

The papers I used are from a paper pad by Wilson & Macglaglan, bought locally. I coloured the image with distress inks and twinkling H20's. Ribbon and paper candy to finish off.
