Make it sparkle

Good morning friends and a happy Thursday to all.

It is a happy day indeed as we have had beautiful rain during the night. We have had some lovely rain the last few weeks, but as our dams are not yet full the water restrictions we are having are still in place...so the rain is just lovely for the gardens. I just hope more falls in the severe drought stricken a and  farming areas.

On to the challenge. This is the midweek reminder for the challenge at Digistamps4Joy the theme is always ...Anything goes, but there is an optional twist. This time Lindsay has chosen for  "Make it sparkle" and the DT have awesome project for inspiration.

I am a little sad, as this is my last DT card for DS4J. After 5 years on the team I have decided to step down for various reasons, but mainly as hubby and I are planning quite a bit of travelling the next year. They have been wonderful years and I have made many super friends and  with Margaret at the helm the past 4 years it has been an amazing time. I wish her and her team great success in the future.


On to my card:

I have used the image Bells are ringing. Cut it out with a Nellie's MFD and matted onto a scolloped oval cut out of a shimmer paper. I have added pearl makers and glitter to the image

The sentiment is a peelof and the ribbon is sparkly as well.

Added pearls to finish off.

Christmas is coming

Good morning friends,
Such a beautiful Tuesday with lovely rains again.

Today there is a new challenge starting at Digistamps4Joy  The theme as always is Anything goes, but my teamie Jackie has chosen as an optional twist...Christmas is coming.

There are lovey cards made by the DT for inspiration, but please remember you do have to use an image on your card. It can be a digital or a stamped one.

For my card I have used the image Giraffe Christmas lights

The paper is a cork covered craft paper, with handmade paper embossed with a Christmas folder

The image is coloured with Distress inkpads and glossy accents added to the lights. Cut out with a MFD and mounted on a scalloped oval.

The sentiment stamped onto the oval.

A raffia bow to finish.

New images today at DS4J

Good morning friends and a happy Sunday to you all,

It is  a beautiful day and we have had some very much needed rain, so the gardens are rejoicing. We still need a lot to fill the dams and break the drought.

Today there are a number of new images being released at Digistamsp4Joy..lovely Christmas images.

The DT have used these and made some awesome cards for inspiration, so do pop over HERE and feast your eyes.



I have used the image Red Robin Applique bird for my card but didn't use it for a Christmas card.


The papers I used are from a vintage paper bloc. I used a piece to print my image onto and then cut it out and put it onto the printed image....no colouring for me this time.

The sentiment is computer generated and I can put whatever message,....birthday, get well soon or whatever on the inside.

Coloured balls for inspiration today

Good morning all,
We are having some cool and cloudy weather after the hot days of the previous week...but still no rain. 3mm fell on Sunday but we need a lot more, as the ground is really dry and water resources are being challenged. Heavy water restrictions are now in place.

This will be my last regular posting for a while as we go off on our long holiday to Europe. Visiting our son and family in The Netherlands and doing a walking holiday in The Black Forest for a week. I will pop in when I can.

Today we have another colour challenge at The Outlawz. Jaqui has chosen this amazing photo for her challenge today. Just tell us what inspires you to make your card or project.

The lovely coloured balls made me think of pretty coloured bubbles and that was the inspiration for my card.




The paper was from my stash, but I added more circles with pan pastels and a stencil

The image is from DS4J and is their current progressive challenge  freebie"on FB. Get to know all about it HERE
I coloured it with Distress inkpads and put some glossy accents over the bubbles. They are nor as colourful as I had hoped. I cut it out with an C-cut die.

The sentiment was taken from a KaiserCraft sheet with words on it.

My patchwork card.

Happy Sunday friends,
I do hope you are all enjoying a great weekend...the last one of August. We are having amazing weather...summer temps. I do hope it settles down to more spring like temps, but it is lovely to be outside in warm weather with no extra clothing.

As we draw near to the end of August, I see I haven't used my image for this month's progressive image at  Digistamps4Joy, so got onto it straight away. If you have never joined in this challenge, then just go to the link and join. You will receive the image and as long as you enter a card you will receive the new one.

The image is Patchwork Country coloured with Distress inkpads. It is matted onto brown cardstock.

I used a patchwork embossing folder for my background.

Sunday releases at DS4J

Good morning and a happy Sunday to you all,

There are some images being released at Digistamps4Joy to day and you can see the lovely cards made by the DT for inspiration using these images. So head on over HEREand see what they have to show.



I have used paper from my stash and cut the spotted one with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

The image is Party Shoes coloured with Twinkling H20's with a touch of glitter added.

The sentiment is an embossing folder. I used a co-ordinations paper and sanded the embossing to bring out the base colour.

Finished off with pearls.

Midway challenge #127 at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Monday friends,
It is a lovely and spring like morning in my part of the country, but needless to say winter will still try and make its presence felt at some time. In the meantime we are enjoying the lovely weather.

My GD card with circles

Happy Wednesday all,

Here in South Africa we are having a holiday for local government elections  so I guess it is a happy Wednesday.  I will be going off later to do the right thing,

I have been invited as GD for the new Creative Moments challenge#99, as I am on the DT for Digistamps4Joy and they are the sponsors for this challenge.

This is my card using circles for the challenge theme

I made my own background by spraying my watercolour paper with glimmer mist. When it was dry I used a stencil with circles and randomly sponged gold Pan Pastels over the background.

The image is lovebirds, coloured with Distress inkpads and cut with a circle MFD. Matted onto a scolloped diecut.

The sentiment is also from DS4J and is one of a set of Blessings. This I also cut out with circle MFD.

Finished it all off with ribbon and some pearls

Thinking of you with flowers

I have a card using Day lily border from Digistamps4Joy for the July progressive challenge. If you haven't yet joined in this challenge you can get all the details on the FB page HERE

I went with something fairly simple, that can have multiple uses. These cards are always good to have in my stash.

The base card was coloured with Pan Pastels...I don't use these often enough.

Coloured the image with Distress inkpads and cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die ...Anne's paper art.
Used the larger die for the pink card.

The sentiment is from a set of Penny Black.
Finished off with pearls, that I coloured with Copics. They come in handy for colouring my pearls.

Use dies or punches for challenge at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Friday friends,
We are midway through the month and also through our challenge at Digistamps4Joy There is always an optional twist and this month it is to add dies or punches.

The DT have made some awesome project for your inspiration. You do not have to use a DS4J image, but you do HAVE to use either a stamped or digital image on your project.  The lovely prize is a $10 gift voucher, so do come and join in the fun.

I have used the image Vintage couture

I decided on a step card this time.

Paper is from Fabscraps...vintage buttons. It is double sided and has buttons on the other side.
All the edges were inked in Vintage photo for a bit more of a vintage look.

The image was coloured with distress inks and cut out.

I used a selection of dies..The cotton reel is from Joy crafts, the scissors...Marianne Design and the frame is Noor design.

The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with an X-cut die

I added some thread to the cotton reel and a silk ribbon bow, with pearls to finish off.

June progressive challenge......just in time

Hello friends,

Today is the last day of June...in 6 months time, we will be facing another year...but let's get the next six months behind us first.

There is a progressive challenge on the Digistamps4Joy FB page and I had completely forgotten about the image...already printed and coloured but not made into a card. Lucky I still had 2 days left, so yesterday I got it done.

If you haven't played before, then you need to join the  group on the FB page and request the new image for July, when you make your card you are allowed to play again the next month and so on.

I used paper from a Marianne Design..Pretty Papers bloc - Noir and Blanc.

The image is Misteri Graduate and I used Distress inkpads and Twinkling H20's for colouring. Cut it out with Nellie's MFD

Added a sentiment and pearls to finish.

Little Christmas tree

Happy Sunday friends,

We are having such amazing weather this weekend. Cold evenings, but lovely warm sunny days with almost no wind......not too sure how long this spell will last, so enjoying it while I can.

Today we have several new images at Digistamps4Joy and the one I have used is My little tree.

This time round I made a stepper card.



The papers are all from my stash, which is very slowly being used up....need to get on with more Christmas cards.
The 2 front ones with the trees was a free download many years back and now I can't even find where I got it.

I coloured the image with Distress inkpads added glitter and a few stars.

Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die and matted onto a larger fancy one from the same set.

I didn't add a sentiment as there is a lot of printing on the card.
It was a fun one to do.

DS4J challenge with a twist of fairies

The challenge this month at Digistamps4Joy is as always Anything goes, but with a twist to add Fairies.

The Dt have made awesome cards using different fairies. There is a large selection of fairies in the store. You do not have to use a DS4J image to win, but you DO need to use an image, either stamped or digital.

Can you believe we are in the middle of May....so I need to remind you of the challenge at Digistamps4Joy  As always it is Anything goes, but we do have a twist  which is optional...Add ribbon.

I have decided to make a tag this time using the image Birthday frame

I used a tag cut from cardstock and matted the image onto it.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads,

Added glitter to the banner and gift bag and glossy accents to the balloons, also some peeloff hearts to the second banner.

Finished off with twine and beads, a lace edging  and a big bow for my ribbon twist.

Good morning and happy 1st May.

Well as we start this new month and being a Sunday there are some new images released to day at Digistamps4Joy One of the images Vintage Dress 1 is what I have used on my card. To see the cards made by the DT just go over to the challenge blog and feast your eyes on their creativity.

The image was coloured with my usual Distress inkpads and cut with an oval die.

Finished it off with a seam binding bow, gauze dyed with a tea bag, 2 metal corners and beads.

Digistamps4Joy #123...Add butterflies

 Happy Friday everyone.

This is to remind you all that you still have 2 weeks to enter the challenge at Digistamps4Joy. The challenge is hosted by Asmah and she has asked us to add butterflies. Our challenges are always Anything goes, but the twist is optional. You get an extra entry in the draw if you played along with the twist. You do need to use either a digital or stamped image on your project.

The DT have made such amazing cards for inspiration, I urge you to go and have a look at them.

This is my card with the details of what I used.

Paper is from a pad - Victorian Vintage by Marianne Design.

Added ribbon and pearls to finish.

A new progressive challenge

Good morning friends from a rainy Johannesburg.

It is such a lovely cool rainy day, I guess much like the Irish weather, so let me start by wishing all my friends a Happy St. Patrick's day. I hope the sun is shining for you.

There is a new progressive challenge on the Digistamps4Joy FB  group  https://www.facebook.com/groups/636935063114458/  You need to join the group and then you will be able to download this image 'Art Deco Beauty'.  Post your completed card in the album and at the end of the month you will receive another image....so easy.

I made this Z fold card

Paper is from a floral paper bloc of Janneke Brinkman.

Coloured the image with Distress inkpads, cut it out and mounted on the card, only attaching the body. Added some gems on the wings.

The sentiment is computer generated from my stash of quotes. Cut out with a CB die, and attached with a bow.

Something with green today

Good morning all,
At The Outlawz this week the
colour challenge
is hosted by Laurian. She has given us this lovely photo for inspiration, and lucky for us we can choose 2 colours to use with the green. We also get to decide on our own twist....That is a lot of fun. Please pop in and see what fantastic projects the DT made this week.



We still have Digisitamps4Joy as our sponsor and I used a St. Patrick's day image which you can find HERE

The paper is from my stash.

I printed two images. Coloured the first one and cut it out with a MFD. The second one I only coloured the shamrock, cut it and glued it to the first one. Attached a brad in the centre.

The sentiment is one I found some time back...I don't know where and I had no reference. So if anyone knows whose it is please let me know and I will give credit for it.

Finished it with brads in the corners.
