Midway reminder..Digistamps4Joy #74..Anything goes

Hello friends,
I am still away with the family, so hopefully this post goes out. I will try and check in to make sure.

The current challenge #74 at Digistamps4Joy is "anything goes" so I decided to make something other than a card for this challenge. It is a tea bag holder, for 2 tea bags.
I used the image 'Tipple,topple teacups' and you can find it HERE
I used craft paper for the base and some card from my stash.
I coloured the image with aquarelle pencils, cut it our and mounted with 3D foam pads.
The label is a Marianne Design die, hand written sentiment. and a ribbon to finish.

Misteri at The Outlawz

Good morning friends.
I hope that you are able to read this, as I have scheduled this post, never done it before...
My hubby and I are at present away in a Nature Reserve with our son and family for a few days. It is a little further north than where we live, so the temps. are a little warmer....lovely. Looking forward to having a few days of relaxing, good food, and time with the family.

Another Tuesday  colour challenge at The Outlawz.  This week the colour palette and photo was chosen by Roxann, with the twist to add ribbon.

This is also the last week of Digistamps4Joy's sponsorship.

This is what I did:

Image ...coloured with Distress inkpads. Added some pearlmakers for the beads. Cut it out with an oval Nestability die.
Made a frame using a new Leabilities die
Ribbon and pearls to finish

Nerw releases at Digistam[4Joy

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone.
It is once again new release day at Digistmaps4Joy. The image we were given to use is 'kiss the cook apron" which is a great image.

I had lots of ideas for this one, but when I got down to starting, they all were blown away by the wind that was gusting outside. Well I persevered and after a few attempts was ready to pack it up, but decided to post this one.

 

 

Image...coloured with distress inks, added frosted lace to the lacy frill, cut out and mounted with 3D foam pads.

Another gift box

Hi there blogging friends,
Wow I am a little late with this post. Had planned to post it this morning, but had a rather busy day.
Well here I am my 4th week as GD at Gerda Steiner DesignsThe image is one that Gerda chose.."Cute puppy in box" and can be found at Gerda's Doodles, together with some really lovely images drawn by Gerda.

 

 

Here is what I used:

 

Image coloured with distress inks and Twinkling H20's, cut out and mounted onto  an oval diecut.

I printed and cut out an extra bow and mounted that onto the image for extra dimension. I added Glossy Accents to the doggie's nose and eyes.

Papers...the striped is from my stash. The blue cardstock was embossed with a CB folder - numbers. I highlighted the 5 as the birthday boy is turning 5.

Added washi tape, that I have had for a good while but never used, and finished off with 3 buttons.

The sentiment was a freebie.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
As usual on a Tuesday we go to  The Outlaws for thecolour challenge. This week it was the turn of  Laurian to choose the inspirational photo and colour palette with the twist to had sparkle.


Our sponsor for the month of August is Digistamps4Joy and one of the images we were given to use was "Peacock" which you can find  HERE. Of course with these colours I couldn't help but use it for my card.

The DT have made some amazing cards for inspiration and would love you to come and join us. There are some lovely prizes to win, from Digistamps4Joy and other sponsors....so why not give it a go.

I decided to make a twisted easel card, which is actually a very easy fold to make.
I coloured the peacock with Twinkling H20's and distress inks. Added glitter to the feathers.
Cut it out with a Nestability die, matted onto a dark blue and cut it out .
The designer paper was a piece from my stash
Sentiment...from Whiff of Joy, cut out with a Marianne Design die.
Added gems, ribbon, pearls and glitter, unfortunately, the shimmer of the H20's and the glitter doesn't show up that well on the photo.

A summery card

Happy Sunday to all my friends.
It is a lovely sunny day here, but a rather icy wind, so even though it looks so inviting out there, it is better to be inside crafting. That is exactly what I have been doing. Some DT work and cards for an upcoming workshop.
I would like to welcome my latest followers, so lovely to have you come by and visit and hope you will pop in often.
My card today is a sample for my next workshop. I did a class a few weeks ago and made a similar card, but with a fishing theme, so for this next one ...different people, I decided to go with a summery card. Hopefully soon we will be enjoying that sort of weather.

It is a 3D card and I used a number of Memory Box dies for all the elements.
The green hills were made by tearing Co-ordinations paper to show the second colour.
The little oranges on the tree were made with Nellie Snellen's Pontura paint.
I shaded the kitty with a gel pen.
A few beads, bling and I was done.

This is the 3rd week of my GD at  Gerda Steiner designs. For my card I have chosen the image 'Mouse at postbox'. and you can find it at Gerda's Doodles This little mouse just looked like he was expecting some post from a special someone...... Make your own embellishments....Reminder challenge 73 ...DS4J

My card today is a dual purpose. The image I have used is one of the new releases from Sunday...'Misteri, Bond girl', which you can find  HERE, and I have also made my flower for this challenge.

Going surfin...with The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
Hope you all had a great weekend. Here in South Africa we had a holiday on Friday, so a lovely long weekend. The weather was rather cold, chilly and even a bit wet, so not  great for being outdoors, but we had a bit of family time, went to see a musical...Starlight Express and spent time being creative..so for me a good weekend.


For the colour challenge  at The Outlawz this week it was my turn to choose the colours and inspirational photo, and the twist is to add polka dots.


My card  is made with an image from our sponsor  Digistamps4Joy, called 'Alex the Surfer' and can be found HERE. DS4J is sponsoring the challenges this month.

Under the Mistletoe at DS4J

Hello friends
It doesn't feel like Saturday today...I guess because we had a holiday yesterday, the weekend has gone a little bit strange.
I am a few days late with this card as this was one of the new images from last Sunday. I just liked it so am showing it to you in case you haven't yet seen this image.

I kept it fairly simple, and used the sketch from The Outlawz
Image..."under the Mistletoe" from       Digistamps4Joy, coloured with Distress inks and cut with a scalloped die.
The corners were cut with a JoyCrafts die.
The fancy strip was a Martha Stewart punch.
Finished off with a peeloff sentiment

It was a lovely quick card to make...will need to do more quick ones..

A gift all wrapped up

Good morning everyone,
Greetings from South Africa on this National Women's Day holiday. We woke in the early hours to thunder and lightning, with a bit of rain...now this is not unusual here by us, but it usually happens only in the summertime...and it isn't summer yet, in fact it is decidedly winter today with an icy wind blowing. It has been raining for the last 4 - 5 hours, soft soaking....I can just see the grass growing this week, but I now see some blue patches so I hope the sun does come out.
We are having a bit of a family get together at my youngest son's house, as they celebrate the completion of some house renovations which just seem to carry on forever, with builder hassles and many other related problems. So a bit of sun will be most welcome.

I also want to welcome my new followers. Love having you here and hope you can find some inspiration and will come back soon. Please let me know what you think, I love reading comments.

My second week as GD for Gerda Steiner Designs and my card today is made with one of her choices 'Cute cat tied on gift" and you can find it HERE.
She also has a lovely freebie of 'Otto the octopus', so you may collect it and then join in the challenge for this month.

This is what I did

Paper...various bits from my stash,  embossed the blue with a CB folder and sanded it lightly
Image...cat on gift, coloured with Distress inks, added some dots with a gel pen, and did a little random stamping on the gift. Cut it out with an X-cut die.
Sentiment...Country crafts, a local company added twine and some card candy.

I do hope you will have a go at this challenge with the freebie that Gerda is offering.

DS4J challenge #73...embellishments

Good morning friends,
Another challenge at Digistamps4Joy. I have the honour of hosting this challenge and the theme I have chosen is to make your own embellishments. Now you can use anything you like..paper, ribbon, clay, metal - whatever takes your fancy. I have decided to use shrink plastic to make a heart for my card. I have written a short tutorial about using shrink plastic, just in case you haven't yet worked with it. It really is great fun.

For my card I used the following
Image...Pocket love available  Here. I coloured it with Distress inks.
Papers....I ran the plain red through the cuttlebug with Swiss dots folder, and then lightly sanded it to bring out the white. The striped is from my stash.
Sentiment ....peel-offs
Beads and pins to finish.

Colour challenge with a tag at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
The weeks are just flying by and Tuesday has arrived again. As usual today there is a new colour challenge  at The Outlawz.

Lindsay chose the colour palette and the beautiful inspirational photo, with the twist to add a tag.

This month our theme is Auspicious August and  we have Digistamps4Joy as our sponsor. The DT will be using images from DS4J during the month.

I have used the image "star keeper" on my card this week.and it can be found HERE.

Paper...Purple cardstock, punched in the corners

Image...Star Keeper, printed onto vanilla cardstock, coloured with distress inks and twinkling H2O"s and cut with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

The tags were cut with a Leabilities die, inked the edges and attached with a brad.

Sentiment computer generated.
Pearls added.




I just find it frustrating that the colours on the photo are not nearly what is on the card, but I guess the 'photographer' is not very qualified.....LOL
