New releases at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Easter,
On this special day in our Christian calendar I would like to wish you a very Blessed Easter as we celebrate the Risen Lord.  Even if not celebrating this event, I hope you are able to spend the day enjoying the company of family or friends, or maybe just having a quiet day, and hopefully not eating too many choccies!!

Today is once again  new releases at Digistamps4Joy. There are some gorgeous new images so treat yourselves to one of these beauties.

The image I have used for my card is 'To have and hold', but it can be used for many ocassions other than a wedding.
I have kept my card fairly simple.
Coloured the image with Distress inks, and paper pieced the dress with a white patterned paper, and just added a touch of pink.
Matted onto a pink patterned paper, same range as the white I used for the dress.
The embossed  frame round the image was done with a CB embossing folder.
Sentiment stamped onto a label and finished off with ribbon and pearls

Best wishes from South Africa

Hello friends,
Just recently Margy, from Digistamps4Joy released a new image (her own drawing) called "Weskus fisherman's cottage"  I just  had to use it. It brought back memories of holidays on the west coast of South Africa, where this is a typical scene I took the liberty of  adding the image of the aloe,(by Jen Lee) which is also very South African.

I coloured it with distress inkpads and kept it very simple with no extra embellishments. The sentiment is computer generated.
I hope any of my South African friends out there will enjoy this.

As this is Holy week in the Christian calendar, my card is just perfect timing. Challenge #63 at  Digistamps4Joy has the theme..Celebrating Easter, and it ends 2 April, so there is still time to enter.

For my card I used 2 images, the first is.. Chapel window and the second is ..He is risen, both can be found at the  STORE Coloured them with watercolour pencils and twinkling H2O's

Birthday at The Outlawz colour challenge

Hi there blogging friends,

Tuesday is always a new colour challenge at The Outlawz, and this week the inspirational photo and colour palette were chosen for us by Margaret, with the twist to add dry embossing.

Our sponsor for the month is 2 Cute 2 Ink and the prize is 3 digi stamps for the winner.

For my card I used one of the digis from the sponsor, 'cupcake birdie'. As today is my birthday I decided it had to be a birthday card.

Embossed the cardstock with a CB birthday folder, and inked over it with distress inks just to highlight the wording.
Coloured the image with Inktense pencils, I have had this set for a while and not really used them much, so am trying them out. Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD
Finished off with little buttons that I have had for ages, and never used before.

I battled a bit to get the colours looking right for a photo, and as I am not very good with cameras, this is the best I got.

I will try my luck at a few challenges.

3D flowers ...New release at DS4J

Good morning friends,
A very happy St. Patrick's day to you all. I hope you have a wonderful day. We have the most beautiful blue sky this morning, but nor sure if it will last the whole day.

Today one of the new releases at  Digistamps4Joy  is a 3D flower set. This is a super one, as you just print onto your coloured paper, cut out, layer and you are done. There are some other gorgeous digis as well, so go over and have a look

Another Easter card......

Good morning friends,
Well today autumn has definitely got a foot in the door. It is grey, windy, cool and even started raining a short while ago. Perfect weather for staying indoors, and I think hubby will bake some of his famous rusks, so the smells from the kitchen will be great.

Onto my card now. There is a combined challenge on at PCP with Digistamps4Joy and Shelley's images

You get one image from each and have to use them together on a card. If you make 3 projects with these 2 images you will get another image from each one. This is my first card, not sure if I will manage more, will see how we go.

I have made a card shaping the front for a different effect.
The image on the front is 'Peter' from Shelley's images. Coloured with distress inks and twinkling H2O's.
The image inside is 'Egg basket' from Digistamps4Joy also coloured with distress inks and Twinkling H2O's. I cut it out mounted on foam pads and paper pieced the bow adding some glitter.
The sentiment on the inside is a freebie. My blogging friend Hannelie offers some lovely sentiments from time to time and you can visit her

Easter at Digihaven

Happy Friday friends,
Firstly I would like to welcome my new followers. It is great to have you visit and I hope you will find something here to inspire you...do come back often.

To day I have an Easter card for you. Digistamps4Joy are sponsoring the challenge at Digihaven, with the theme Easter, and I am GD for this week. For my side step card I used Easter egg with bow and it can be found HERE

I coloured my image and the flower with a combination of aquarelle pencils, distress inks and Twinkling H20's. added some glitter to the egg and did some paper piecing on the bow.
The paper is from Making Memories.
The flower is a multidie flower of LeCrea, swirl is a Marianne Design die, The eggs I used a little oval punch, finished off with some pearls.

Colour my world......

Good morning and a happy Wednesday to you all,


A midway reminder for challenge #62 from  Digistamps4Joy...colour my world. We challenge you to use 3 colours from the palette for your card, and of course if you have a ds4j image that would be great, but if not that is OK...just come along and play.


My card was inspired by my garden, using the colours from the palette.

I used the yellow, black and white from the palette, but added a touch of green for the leaves,

I coloured the image- Hibiscus - with distress inkpads, cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

Coloured seam binding with distress inks and pearls to finish.

Have not added a sentiment, not sure just when I will use it

A little late, but it's still Tuesday colour challenge

Good evening friends,
What a busy few days..DT assignments, class kits to prepare, family commitments, and just life.....
Hardly been at the computer, to browse and visit....


Today's is another Colour challenge at the Outlawz and Roxann has chosen the colour and inspirational photo for us, with the twist being add a flourish
 Now I have no problem with that, but the colours...that's a different story, they were a challenge.

Good morning friends,
A happy Sunday to you all. I know in some parts of the world, spring did put in a brief appearance, but has gone into hiding again...well here in my part of South Africa autumn is trying to get a show in. Very cloudy today and a rather cool wind been blowing all night, just hope it brings us a bit of much needed rain before our rainy season makes an exit....OK enough about the weather.

Today as usual on a Sunday, it is the new digi release at Digistamps4Joy. There are some lovely new images, Professor Pedro being one of them. These can be seen HERE as well as  super cards made by the DT for your inspiration.

I have used the image Professor Pedro, coloured it with aquarelle pencils and cut it out with an oval die, mounted with foam dots.I also used glossy accents on his glasses.

Vintage colour at The Outlawz

Tuesday already and so another Colour challenge at The Outlawz.

Vintage was never my favourite, but I am beginning to enjoy it more.

Owl always love Summer

Hello my friends,
I sure hope you all had a lovely weekend, relaxing, crafting, or whatever took your fancy. I did a bit of all that, and found some time to experiment with a DIY gelli plate....more about that in a day or two.
My card today is one I made a few weeks ago, but hadn't got round to showing here.

The birdhouse was taken from the pattern in the #1 issue of The Collection by Marianne designs. The pattern can be downloaded for a card, but I made it a lot smaller to add onto my card, raised with 3D dots.

The image is Pipa in summer by LeCreaDesigns, from the Owlies range..coloured with watercolour pencils, and also raised.

The diecut at the bottom is from Joy crafts. It is for embossing and embroidery. I like these because the holes are pricked when cutting it, so just start stitching...great fun.

Sentiment was made on the PC.


I wanted to use this stamp as our summer days are now drawing to an end....oh we are still having lovely warm weather, but the heat of summer has somewhat subsided and the autumn feel is in the air, so those  'lazy, hazy days of summer" will soon just be a memory.

DS4J new releases

Good morning blogging friends,
I trust you are all having a lovely weekend. Today is a beautiful day, after some rain the last few days,everything is so fresh and lovely.
As usual on Sundays there are a number of new releases at Digistamps4Joy.
The image I have used is called bath time and you can find itHERE

Image...Bath time, coloured with distress inks and paper pieced the tub. Added some snowy liquid for the foam on the water and  glossy accents to the bubbles. Not sure if it can be seen on the photo.

Angels have wings

Hi there everyone,
Can you believe it ...March has arrived, and now I can say next month we go on holiday....and that will be here before we know it.

Today I have a card made for the progressive challenge at CDAC. A new series started in January and this ends at the end of March. There are also a number of other challenges running at the same time, which is quite fun.
