Christmas flower

Hi everyone,
I am back with my second card. It almost feels like Christmas is here as I have made 3 Christmas cards in the last 2 days, but lucky for me it is still almost 8 months away.

This time I have used one of the many 3D printed papers that I have been hoarding and also some of the patterned papers from my scraps box. Maybe by the time Christmas arrives I will have made a dent in those, as I am trying to use them up for my 12 months of Christmas link up cards.

Christmas baubles

Hello friends,
I am rushing to get some cards in before the deadline tonight. This is the first of 2 Christmas cards for the challenge at 12 Months of Christmas Linkup


I really don't want to miss out as Lisa gives us a lovely digi paper when you complete the challenge.

For this card I used an embossing folder with ornaments and just coloured them with Pan Pastels. Added some details with a metallic pen, glitter to the stars and christal glitter to the snowflakes.

The large bauble is cut with a Marianne die and attached it with a string..

I need to get the second card photographed and then I will be back.

 A quick easy card.

Colour challenge with wings

Good morning friends on this last Tuesday of April.
We are in holiday mode here in South Africa, having had Freedom day yesterday and then on Friday another holiday, so many have taken off the days in between to have a mini holiday. The worst of these holidays is, one tends to forget what day it is.

It is definitely Tuesday and that means another colour challenge at The Outlawz.

Ina chose the beautiful photo for inspiration with the colours and the twist...something with wings.

I got the inspiration from hereFlowers, Ribbons and Pearls and this is my card with all the details below.

 

I started with purple card and then matted aqua card that I coloured with Distress inkpads. I then took watercolour paper and with the inkpads and water spritzed on it, used the 3 colours for the challenge.

 

The butterfly I stamped twice, on patterned paper, Embossed with gold. The aqua colour is from the paper and just added some purple to the butterfly, cut them out  and layered the one with 3D silicone The feelers I drew in with a metallic pen. Added glitter.

 

The sentiment was a free stamp in a magazine.

Finished off with pearls and a bow.

Blooming Blessings progressive challenge

Happy Monday friends,

Do you ever find that somehow you loose days or they just disappear. Well I was so sure I still had a day to enter this challenge, but when I checked there was like 3 hours to get my card in. Thankfully it was just about done, but I still had to photograph it and it was not yet light here....so a little bit of panic, but as soon as the sun came out (thankfully blue skies today and no clouds) I took a photo....not perfect light, but.......

This is the set of images for the April progressive challenge at Deedee's Digis






This is the card I made using the blooms image.


The card I made is a multifold card
Paper - I used mostly paper from Michel R Designs...perfect petals and butterflies & hummingbirds.

I printed the image twice and coloured it. Then I cut out the flowers from the second image and layered them with silicone on the first image. I attached this to a Marianne Design diecut. Used some Pontura pearl makers for dots in the centre of the flowers.

The sentiment I stamped on the inside front.

Finished it off with ribbon, pearls and a metal corner.

 

I need to get this in before the deadline.

Something Yummy to eat or drink

Good morning friends.
Yes this is my second posting this morning, and after talking about our cloudy cool weather...today has turned out to be the most gorgeous day. Lovely blue skies with some cloud and a warm day.
Now on to the challenge. At The Creative Craft Cottage we are looking for something yummy to eat or drink for challenge #38.

The Cutting Café are the sponsors for this challenge and the DT have used cutting files provided by them. They have made stunning cards and would love you to come and join in.



For my card I have used a teapot.

 

I hand cut the shape and covered it with paper from Funky Hand's 'tea's up'range.

I cut an extra piece for the lid and raised it with foam dots and edged it with a peel-off strip.

 

The tags are also from the same range of paper, attached it to a tag with some raffia and a teacup charm.

 

 

  For the inside I also covered it with one of the Tea's up papers and made a small diecut envelope with a Marianne Design die. In this I put a teabag.

The label is computer printed and cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

Play tic-tac-toe at The Outlawz

Happy Tuesday friends,
Well back from our little break in the country and my word, while we were gone winter seems to have crept in somewhere. Cool mornings and cloudy and cool days have been with us since our return. Not too worried though, we always have some lovely sunny days  in winter so I am sure it will all settle into place soon.

This week's Colour challenge at The Outlawz has us playing tic-tac-toe, so come and join in the fun. I think everyone knows what to do ...just choose your column, horizontal, vertical or diagonal and if there is a word in it then that is the twist to use.

For my card I have used the image 'So in love - Hooties'



I have used the vertical column on the left with buttons as my twist.

Paper - Pink cardstock and matted a designer paper that is from my stash. I was so lucky that all the colours were in the paper.

Coloured the image with Distress inkpads and added a small heart gem. Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

The sentiment is from a set of Marianne Design, and I just cut around the words.

Finished off with 3 buttons.

Party time at Digistamps4Joy

Good morning bloggers,
A happy Monday morning to you all and this is not a blue Monday but a colourful PARTY TIME Monday.
Digistamps4Joy is celebrating 1000 likes on their FB Page, so you need to get over there see what it is all about. This is the image 'Party Time" that you will receive for liking their page. There is something happening every day, so please don't miss out on he fun.

 

This is what I used:

Paper - yellow cardstock and matted dark blue card. The white card I embossed and then coloured by sponging with Distress inkpads
Image - coloured with Distress inkpads, added glitter. Cut it out and mounted with foam pads onto the embossed background.
What would a party be without presents, so I cut out some squares from patterned paper, added peel-off strips and tied bows with gold thread.
Finished off with 2 banners cut with a Memory box die.

I do hope you like this party invitation and will join in the fun.

A sketch at Digistamps4Joy challenge #111

Good morning friends,
A happy Wednesday to everyone. I am away with hubby for a few days break in the lovely Mpumulanga area of our country, so hopefully Mr. Blogger  has posted this for me.

At Digistamps4Joy the current challenge #111 has a sketch to follow. My teamie Tonnie is hosting and has designed the sketch for us to use.

The DT have made some awesome cards using this sketch, so why not hop over and see what they have to show.

I decided I needed a baby card to add to my stash, and had mainly blue papers, so this is how it ended up.

The paper with text is from my stash of off-cuts so not sure who it is by. I can say it is about 5 years old. The gingham is from Marianne design , Sweet baby, paper block

The image can be found HERE It was coloured with my usual Distress inkpads.

Finished it all of with a bow and a small safety pin.

Anything but a card at The Outlawz.

Hello my friends and a happy Tuesday,
I am away for a week so hopefully if you are able to read this post all has gone according to plan.





I was the lucky one to choose the inspirational photo for this colour challenge at The Outlawz and the twist is 'anything but a card'. You need to use all the colours and make anything except a card...tags, boxes, notebooks, frames... in fact any paper project.


Our sponsor this month is Enchanted Design Studio and some of he DT have used her images, so we would love you to come and see what we have all made.







This is what I have made. I started with this paper notepad from our local stationary shop and transformed it into this.



All the paper was from my stash, and the beauty is you don't need large pieces, so using up all those small pieces is great.

I cut a piece of card - recycled. I keep all the pieces that come with embossing folders, dies etc. I then covered that front and back of this piece and also of the backing card of the pad. The blue strip at the top holds all the pieces together and then just decorate.

The fancy diecut is a Marianne Design die.
The image is called Enchanted Sparrows, coloured with Distress Inkpads.
The sentiment is a freebie from Hannelie cut with a Nellie Snellen label die.

These are such handy little gifts to make and don't require too much effort. I always like to have a few in stock, but have run out of my supply, so need to work at it again.

Show off your die cuts challenge #37 at Creative Craft Cottage 7 April

Good morning and a happy Tuesday to all my friends.

Here I am back again with my DT card for the challenge at Creative Craft Cottage #37...use diecuts. Now this shouldn't be a problem for most of us, so bring out those dies.

The  DP I used is from one of the vintage paper blocs I bought some time ago when on holiday in The Netherlands. They have been so useful and I am starting to be left with scraps.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

The border was cut with a Marianne Die

Finished it off with pearls and ribbon.

Another card using diecuts for challenge #37 at CCC

Hello friends,
I am back as promised with the second card for the challenge at Creative Card Cottage...using diecuts. I am sure most of you have at least one die, so please bring them out and come and join us in this challenge.

For my card I used the image Mushroom fairy and you can find it HERE





I coloured the image with Distress inkpads, added glitter to the dress, and a small punched flower in her hair.

I also added some small Pontura liquid pearls to the mushroom.

The Diecut is a Nellie Snellen die.

The sentiment is from Marianne Design.

Finished it off with pearls and a double ribbon bow.

A new month a different challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends on this post Easter Tuesday morning
I hope everyone had a good Easter and a relaxing weekend...now it is back to the everyday life.



This is the first colour challenge at The Outlawz for April and Laurian is hosting the challenge. Her colour palette is taken from this beautiful photo. You need to use the 2 colours shown, and the twist is 'an easel card'. There are so many different types of easel cards and anyone of them will be good enough for this challenge.






Being a new month we also have a new sponsor Enchanted Design Studio. Concetta draws the most amazing images, and some of these can be seen on the cards made by the DT this week.



I have used one on this card, and this is what I did.




Paper is from a Vintage paper bloc by Pickup

Image is called Ladybug and coloured with Distress inkpads, added glitter.

The die cuts are from Marianne Designs and Joycrafts.

The sentiment is one I found long ago from Cards and Scrap. Not sure they are still around.

Added pearls, ribbon and some gauze coloured red, but it doesn't show the colour on the photo.

Seasonal flowers at Let's Craft and Create

Happy Easter to all my blogging friends.
It is a beautiful Sunday morning here and just been to a lovely Easter Service. Looking forward to some chocies today...if the Easter Bunny left any. LOL

First I would like to welcome my new follower Ameera Crafts. I am so pleased to have you here and hope you will enjoy whatever I have to share.

It is also a special Sunday as this is the first challenge of the new Let's Craft and Create challenge blog. Challenge #100...Seasonal flowers. We would love to see your creations and for some inspiration hop over and see the gorgeous cards made by the DT.

This is the card I made.

I cut an oval in the front and through that the image can be seen on the inside.

Image is from a stamping set of Marij Rahder. I bought this when I first started card making, while on holiday in The Netherlands. Coloured it with Distress inkpads and added some glitter. Also attached a small heart button in the place of the stamped heart.

The Designer paper is from a paper bloc - Hello Sweet Baby  of Marianne Design

Corners are a Lea'bilities die.

The hanging sign is a Marianne die with a sentiment of Whiff of Joy

Flowers are Nellie Snellen floral punches

Iris folding for a change

Good morning friends,
I hope all is well with you at the start of this lovely Easter weekend. It is just such perfect weather at the moment here in our part of South Africa. Late summer/early autumn with warm sunny days, early morning crisp air and gorgeous evenings, what more could we ask for.... I suppose a little shower of rain during the night would be most welcome.

I hadn't done any iris folding for a long time, and thought the way to get back into it was to do a swap. So I signed up for one and was a little worried as we have had some serious postal issues, but am happy to say I received my card from New Zealand and today I had a message to say my card arrived safely in The Netherlands....a big relief.

This was my card, and I must say I found it a little tricky, but I think only because I was a little out of it. I was quite happy with the result.

 

I will try and find some challenges to enter a little later.

April Progressive challenge

Happy Wednesday dear friends.

Yes it is 1st April, but this is no April Fool's joke. We are into the 4th month of our progressive challenge and if you haven't yet joined in you can do so now.
All you need to do is go to The Outlawz, join the progressive challenge
send your email as directed and you will get your free image. As long as you keep taking part in the challenge, you will get the next image.

This month we have the image of a cute little fellow...Freddie.. and he is sponsored by Encino Stamps

The DT have made cards using this image so you can hop on over and see what  they have made  and then hopefully you will be inspired to join in this fun challenge.

This is my card:

 

I have printed my image and then embossed the card with an embossing folder..I think it is a Papermania folder.

 

Coloured everything with Distress inkpads. Punched out small flowers and leaves and glued them onto the embossed flowers. Added a diecut strip of grass, a few butterflies and a little bird.

 

Some glitter and Pontura pearl drops into the flower centres.

Sentiment is Hero Arts.
