Let it snow

Good morning everyone,

After a heatwave of over 10 days we are having lovely cool rainy weather...what bliss and with the cooler weather, the temperature dropped overnight from 34deg. C to 17deg.C, the theme for this month's challenge...winter/let it snow.. at  Let's Craft and Create  ....  just seems a little more bearable, even though winter and snow is only in our dreams at the moment.

The DT have made such gorgeous cards for inspiration, so I do hope you will pop over and leave them some love. It is the perfect time to get those cards done for the festive season if you haven't yet done so,

My card is quite a simple one, saw a similar design on the internet somewhere and again using my stash.

The paper is the last piece I have over of this design.....

I made snowflakes from an old Cuttlebug die. and added glitter and a little bling.

The Christmas tree is cut from a piece of Christmas paper with  Marianne Designs die.

A peeloff provided the sentiment.

Entering the following challenges:

Crafting by Designs....Anything goes
Crafty Creations  #403 ...Anything goes
The Sisterfood of Crafters ...Trees
The Paper Funday #12... Christmas holiday
Craftyhazelnut's challenge ...Patterned paper

Something very different

Hello friends,
This time I am not posting anything papercraft related. I have in the past, very rarely posted about my other hobbies. Crochet has been the main one the last few years, in fact since moving to our lovely retirement village. I have and am still enjoying this very much, doing lots of projects for 2 local charity groups

Now it is time to try something very new...I have started making bobbin lace.
I had my first lesson about 4 weeks ago and have just finished my first project.

I am certainly enjoying this relaxing hobby, hope it will stay relaxing, but am very keen to learn lots more.

I will be back tomorrow, with a card this time......

Giving thanks...a new challenge

Good morning everyone,

Here in my part  of the world we are experiencing very hot weather with very little rain, but I think there is still something to be thankful for, as we received lovely rains on Saturday and that certainly helps the garden.

The new challenge this month at Let's Craft and Create  has an optional theme..Thank you.
The ladies of the DT have made incredible cards for inspiration, so do pop over and see what they have made.

For my card I once again looked through my stash of papers and found a lovely floral piece, which I matted onto  green card.

I used Nellie Snellen dies for the centre piece, added a die cut sentiment,  and also the circles cut into half, then added ribbon.

I used 2 crochet flowers which I made quite a few years ago and added pearls to finish off.

I will be back to enter some challenges later.

Thank you for visiting and will be back soon.

Love, Ursula

Colours of fall

Happy Saturday to you all,
Today starts the new challenge #152 at Let's Craft and Create ...colours of fall. With us just moving into spring, it is a little difficult to think of Fall or Autumn, be I managed anyway. The team have made some gorgeous projects for you to see and you have a whole month to join in the fun.

I am needing a number of birthday cards, as I am donating them to an old aged home for the residents, as some are just forgotten, so this card is ideal for one of the male residents.

I used paper from my stash for the first layer and then a piece from the same block that I embossed.

I took one of my very old stamps and stamped it 3 times, used some distress inks to give a bit of colour, cut them out and  put them down with foam pads for a bit of 3 D.

For the sentiment I used a die cut.

Will enter some challenges:

Brown Sugar  #294...Anything goes
Colour Crazy  #39.....Anything goes
Crafting with an Attitude #56...Anything goes

Thanks for visiting and see you again soon.

Using extra layers

Hello friends,
After a long absence, due to travelling in Europe and spending time with our families, it is now back home and time to get on with a normal life.

This month the challenge theme at Let's Craft and Create is to use extra layers. The challenge is for the whole month, so I do hope you will join us. For inspiration the DT have made some lovely cards, so do hop on over see what they have to show. There is also a small prize to be won.

For my card I used the following:

Paper: Light blue cardstock and matted a piece from a paper bloc of Joy Crafts..Afternoon tea

I used a Joy crafts die for the next layer. Cut it and placed it on the side.
The teapot and cup were cut from some scrap pieces in my stash and these are also Joy Craft dies,

Stamped the sentiment and finished it with some pearls.

I will be back to enter this in some challenges.

Thank you for visiting and will see you all again soon.

Something for the men this time

Hello to everyone,

We are almost halfway through the year and in June we always think of the men..... in many countries Father's day is celebrated in June.... so the theme at   Let's Craft and Create  this month is You're the man.

There are lovely cards made by the DT for inspiration and a prize as well, so do please come and play at our challenge this month.

I decided on a birthday card using paper from my stash which is very slowly diminishing......  I have decided this year not to buy any new patterned paper as I have so much

The paper is from a very old pack of Forever Friends..The good life.  Matted onto burgundy cardstock

Cut a tag from the same cardstock and attached it with a button and some cord....keeping the sailing theme.

The sentiment is also from an old packet of diecut greeting tags.

Finished off with brass brads in the corners.

I will enter it in a few challenges.

Cards for Guys #221...Father's day
Crafty Cardmakers #235 ...Masculine
Dream Valley challenges #203 ...only boys allowed
Dragonfly Dreams ...For a man/boy

I have gone with a birthday card as neither hubby or I have our mothers and I have taken on a project to supply an old aged home with birthday cards for the residents....so I need birthday cards this year.

I have used a Marianne Creatables die for the edging of my patterned paper.

The rose is also a Marianne Design die and I coloured it with inks while still in the die.

The sentiment is a peel off and 3 pearls to finish.

Will enter some challenges:
All Sorts challenge ..#518......Pretty in Pink

Beautiful butterflies

Good morning to you all,
I can't believe that is such a long time since I have been on here, but I guess I just don't blog too much anymore..so maybe need to change that a bit.

Anyway today a new challenge is starting at Let's Craft and Create. It is always anything goes and this month you can add beautiful butterflies as an option and possibly even win a lovely prize.
The DT have made such gorgeous cards so I do hope you will pop in for some inspiration.

For my card I used a KaiserCraft sheet from an old selection with a butterfly border.

The butterfly is a rubber stamp from a local supplier and one of my first stamps I bought many years back. I coloured it with a selection of inks, and added a bit of glitter then cut it out.

The sentiment was found on the internet and printed on my pc. I cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD and added pearls to finish.

I will enter the following challenges:

Crafting by Designs April ...Anything goes
Crafty Creations ...#387 ...Anything goes
Elliebelle's Corner ...April ..wings, tails or spring blossoms
Word Art Wednesday ...#380/381 ...Anything goes
