Time for a cupcake

Good morning friends and a happy Wednesday to all,
Yes I think it is time to relax with a delicious cupcake and tea. Had a busy and frustrating week....computer woes, and classes and orders...won't bore you with details, I think a cupcake is just the right thing.
My card today was made last week, but due to some problems couldn't get it posted till now. It was made for the Duo challenge, if you have requested the template you have to submit a card, and I am getting in just before the deadline.

I used papers from my stash for layering the cupcake.
The image is a one of a number of new images from Digistams4Joy called Cupcake Cindy.   I thought she was so cute and decided to use her here. Coloured with watercolour pencils, cut out and popped us with foam dots.
The teapot is a new die from Joycrafts that I had  just received, and added a little tag.
The sentiment is from a set that I have, don't know the name.

I will be entering some challenges with this card;

Duo challenge
Celebrate the occassion no. 164..Anything goes

Cute as a Button with New Images at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Wednesday bloggers,
To day is a special challenge  at  Digistamps4Joy..No 42...Cute as a Button..so we ask you  to use a button on your project....all the DT are using newly released images....so I challenge you if you have not yet done so, to go and have a look at all the cards made by my fellow teamies...they are awesome.

For my card I used Winter Wendy and you can find here  HERE. She landed at the right blog as we have had the first really cold weather of the winter this week.
I coloured the image with watercolour pencils, added a little puff paint for the froth on the cocoa and 2 little red popm-poms on her hat. and cut it out mounted on a cuttlebug embossed die cut.
The card was made with an X-cut die and I used all the sizes for the layers using various papers from my stash
The sentiment was computer generated and attached with 2 little heart brads.
Some buttons to finish off, and brushed some ice stickles on to look frosty and cold....not sure they show up too well.
I certainly hope to see some of you taking part in this challenge, and you do not have to have a DS4J image to take part, but you do get an extra chance if you use one.
I am entering a few challenges:

Flowers for the Colour challenge

Good morning friends,
Tuesdays are always colourful, especially at The Outlawz, with our  Colour challenge and this week is no exception. The colour pallette and inspirational picture was chosen by my Teamie Teresa with the twist being to use an inking or painting technique.

Our sponsor for the month of May has been Dearie Dolls Digi stamps and the prize is the set of images used by the DT during the month.

For my card this week I decided to go with flowers.

For my inking technique, I inked up an embossing folder with Distress inkpads, inserted the paper and ran it through the cuttlebug. The folder is one I bought while in The Netherlands last year, and has no name to it.
I cut 3 sets of daisies with a Joycrafts die, attached them with a brad.  Added some bling centres to the embossed flowers and coloured the little hearts.
The sentiment is from my stash, cut with a label die and attached with ribbon.

There are some lovely cards made my the members of the Design Team, so pop on over and see what inspires you, then join us with your creation.
I will enter this in a few challenges:
Made Especially For You ...Use 3 of something...3 brads

Will be back soon, in the meantime have fun and take care

It's raining...it's raining

Happy Sunday everyone...
NO it's not really raining, only in my card....Here in our part of South Africa our rainy season is over...we might get an occassional drop of rain in the winter, but that is not normal.
Today's card is made once again using an image from Digistamps4Joy...It's raining.
Papers...I think they are from Fabscraps....
Image...It's.... raining coloured with watercolour pencils and cut out with an Xcut die ...I coated her wellies with some dimensional glaze, to make them look like PVC, not too successful....
Sentiment ...Whiff of Joy cut with an Xcut lable die and attached with brads.
A ribbon bow and charm to finish off.

Will enter in the following challenges:

Smiling with Emma

Good morning friends and a happy Saturday,
The weekend kind of crept up and boom just arrived and I think so has winter. We have still had mild weather not even thinking of any heating, just something extra to wear, but I think that is about to change...but it is almost the end of May, so we shouldn't complain.
I made a card to day using one of the newer images Emma from Digistamps4 Joy. There are a number of new images in the shop and tomorrow a whole lot more are being released.....so I think it might be a good idea to have a look at some of the gorgeous designs created by Margy and Jen.
I was asked to make some cards for various occassions  that are not too pricey, so obviously I don't want to spend too much time on them...so this is one of a number that I am showing.

The paper used is from a cardstock bundle Pastels by American Traditional Designs.
The image Emma is coloured with watercolour pencils and cut with a Nestability die,
The flowers are cut with Marianne Design dies mounted with silicone dots and a pearl centre.
Sentiment is from Whiff of Joy, cut with an Xcut lable die and edges inked.
Entering it in the following challenges:
Get Hippity with Ippity No.20... Sketch
Hot Shot Crafts No.8...Use die cuts
Inspire me Fridays No.59...Anything goes
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, having fun and take care. See you soon.

Fruity time at The Outlawz

Good afternoon friends,
Yes I know I am running a bit late, but it has been a madly busy few days, and I have also had a bit of a battle with my back...this slowed me down, but I think I am slowly getting back on track. Welcome to my new friends...great to see you here and hope you will find some inspiration to return often.

Today being Tuesday it is again the  Colour challenge at The Outlawz, and this week it was Guylou's turn to choose a photo inspiration and colour palette, with the twist being add a fruit print or embellishment

Lovely summery colours...but here we are heading into winter, so not ideal for us, but I managed something...and last Sunday being Mother's Day we had a lovely brunch with our son & DIL and there  on the table were the most beautiful and delicous strawberries....

The paper I used was  all from my scrap box. I decided to stamp strawberries on the yellow spotted paper to match the fruit on the dress.
The image is a Whiff of Joy that I haven't used in absolutely ages. Coloured with watercolour pencils cut out with a scolloped die.
The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with an X-cut label die.
A ribbon and an apple brad just finished it off.

This month our sponsor for all the challenges is
Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps
and you have a chance to win 4 digi images that the DT are using this month.
So please go and have a look at the fantastic cards made by the DT and then come and join us with your entry.

I will be looking to enter this in some challenges

Simon Says stamp and show...Anything goes
Make it Monday...Anything goes

Hope to be back soon, with something else to show you, but in the meantime take care and have fun.

Welcome to the first challenge of our new blog

The theme is  AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
We would like you to create a papercraft project (it doesn't have to be a card) that expresses an attitude of gratitude
Your creation can be for any occasion whatsoever, as long as it's a THANK YOU.
Here is my card for this challenge

The image I used is Let's go and the reason for me choosing this particular sentiment is to say THANK YOU to a very special team mate...JEN. She invited me to join the team last year, and it was as if she took my hand and said.."Let's go"...She has been a great friend ...ready to help and advise and a great inspiration. She has been the challenge co-ordinator on the old DS4J blog, and has carried on with the new blog, and just makes everything run smoothly.

Thank you Jen for all that you do for this group

My DP was from a paper pad, but the name has got lost. I used cardstock to emboss the words folder, which I think had all the words that I see in a friend.
The image I used is Let's go and can be found  HERE. I coloured it with distress ink pads and the girl's clothes with Twinkling H20's, for a bit of a shine...cut it out with a Nestability and mounted it with 3D foam pads.
The sentiments are from my stash of sentiments ...cut them out with labels dies. Added a red heart button.

While there you could have a look at the cards that the DT ladies made with the freebie.
This is my card using the image.

I decided on a gate fold card.
The DP I used was a gift in a RAK parcel from a blogging friend in UK and didn't have a name on it.
I printed my peacock, coloured it with Twinkling H20's, as this has a sparkle finish to it and I thought ideal for this project. I cut it out and had it perching on a picket fence that I cut with a Marianne Design die.
The tree is also a MD die, and I coloured it and the fence with distress ink pads.
The sentiment is from WOJ, cut with an X-cut label die.
On the inside I printed a birthday message and also cut it with an X-cut die.

Specialy for you

Hello friends,
It feels like Monday, but Yippee... it is Wednesday... I guess that's what happens when there are a couple of holidays either side of the weekend.

I would like to sat a big hello to me new friends that are following my blog. Thank you for coming..hope you will come back often, and that I can inspire you with some of my creations.

I had a chance yesterday to do some playing ...I had been to  Country Crafts last week and Joan had just got in some new stock..I had a problem...wanted so much.. I came away with a couple of new dies, stamps, and papers...but the paper was mainly for the next set of workshops.  I made the following card just for fun using a couple of the new items.

The DP was Making Meories..Vintage Findings. I had a piece in my stash...just sufficient for this card. I also used some on the inside to finish it off. combined with some plain blue cardstock.
I used a new Creatable die from Marianne Designs LR0214 to cut out and emboss the corner.
The image is  also a new one from Marianne Designs..Vintage ladies. Coloured with Distress inkpads, cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD and the edges all inked with Vintage photo.
Added lace, a punched out flower...Nellie Snellen floral punches.. some narrow ribbon and pearls to finish it off.
I added a tag with the sentiment. Depending on who the card goes to, I can change the tag.

I  usually  battle with vintage, but this one I think came together quite easily and I enjoyed it.

I will be entering it in the following challenges:
Chocolate Coffee and Cards challenge..Bingo...I used  ..distress, lace, emboss.
Dutch Dare Card challenge...Mother/ special lady
Dream Valley challenges..For a special lady
Addicted to Stamps challenge..Mother's day...Card for a woman.
PapertakeWeekly Anything goes/option with lace

Thanks for looking, would love you to leave a comment.
Take care and see you soon.

May Magnificence..colour challenge

Good morning friends,
Well here we are at the beginning of another month. Today we are having a holiday here in South Africa..Worker's Day...the second one of the long weekend....so does it mean we have to work, or do the workers have a holiday?...If crafting means work, then that's OK..LOL
Today over at The Outlawz is the next of our colour challenges and our theme for the month is "May Magnificence". Our colour palette was chosen by teamie Lori and the twist is to add something leafy.
We have a fabulous prize of 5 digis sponsored by
Dearie Dolls Digis
and also some other lovely prizes by our wonderful sponsors.

This is my card for the challenge

The DP that I used was a page from a paper pad I got at a good price from a local stationery store...
so no name on it, but I thought it was perfect for the "twist" on this challenge. Punched  2 opposite corners, the bottom one is not really visible.
I cut a frame with a Nellie Snellen MFD out of green cardstock, and used the same colour to matt the DP.
Sentiment is a local stamp, cut with a Marianne design flower die, as are the leaves, cut with a darker green cardstock..
2 buttons and a pearl to finish off.

We would love to have you join us in this month's challenges, so come on over and have a look at the gorgeous cards made by the other members of the DT. get some inspiration and show us your project. It doesn't have to be a card...

I am entering this in a challenge:
