Colour challenge plus a number

Hello friends,
Here is the last  colour challenge for the month of April at The Outlawz. I do hope you are reading this as I have scheduled it because I am away with all my family for a week. Our son and family are visiting from The Netherlands and we have been able to get away with all 3 our boys and their families. It would have been so great if our son and the family from New Zealand could have been here as well, but maybe one day we will have them all together again.

It so happens that our youngest son turns 40 on the 3rd May, so we will be celebrating that as well as all the other birthdays so far this year. The card I made is for Eric who loves  music..plays guitar and sings in the choir at the church. He also used to play a bit of sax.

The colour palette and inspirational photo was my choice, with the twist to add a number. I didn't actually plan this for his card, but it was a perfect choice.

The DT have made some really super cards and I hope you will come and join in the fun this week.

Here is my card and what I have used.

Paper - Kraft cardstock for the card, with red card matted but first I stamped and embossed some music notes onto that. A piece of green put through the CB with a happy birthday folder.  Just a pity the red looks a lot more pink on the photo, and I didn't have time to try and scan it.

Joycrafts die for the music.
The numbers were cut with one of my very first CB alphabet dies.

Added 3 brads, and a charm.

Challenges:
My Craft Creations...Anything goes
Challenges 4 Everybody #41...Anything goes
Scribble and Scrap Crafts challenge #17...Anything goes
That Craft Place challenge...Anything goes
Aud Sentiments challenge #105...Use a sentiment or a 4
Crafty Girls challenge #17...Anything goes
Milk, Coffee challenge...Use bright colours
Seize the Birthday...Today it's your birthday

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and I will be back at the end of the weekend. Take care

Midway Easter or Spring challenge #90 at DS4J

Happy Wednesday to everyone.
With the short weeks that we are having I am just really not sure what day it is and have to check on a calendar, as Wednesday seems to have come round very much quicker, but yes it is midweek challenge day at Digistamps4Joy with the theme Easter or Spring.
Alex is hosting this challenge and again the DT have made amazing cards. I urge you to go and have a look and maybe get some inspiration. Do remember you can enter without a DS4J image, but you get an extra chance in the draw if you do use one.

I chose the Easter theme as I wanted to give this to my grandchildren.

Here is what I used:
I made a side step card again...I love this fold.
Paper - pink cardstock, printed paper from Marianne Design 'Don & Daisy', inked all the edges.
Images - Egg basket and Hoppy Easter and you can find these HERE. I coloured them with distress inkpads and Twinkling H20's. Added some glitter to the basket. Cut it out and mounted with dimensionals. Attached the 2 pieces of cardstock with bunny brads that I have had in my stash for a few years now.

Another Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend enjoying the time with family and friends, or even just relaxing on your own.

We are having our son and family visiting South Africa from The Netherlands, and am so happy as today it is our son Steven's birthday and we will be spending the day together with some of the other family as well and as the weather is still lovely sunny and warm, we will have a good old South African "braai"..barbecue, with some of their favourites.

Now on to the business of the Colour challenge
for this week. It is another of the special challenges where you get to choose three colours from the palette, for your card. The twist is to add a butterfly. This gorgeous photo was chosen by Penny, for this week's inspiration and she is also sponsoring the prize for this month. Now with such beautiful colours who can resist making a project for this week.

I decided this week to use a sketch for my card...haven't followed one for ages.  I decided to go with the C.R.A.F.T. challenge #225, but was too late to enter it in the challenge.

Here is the card for this week's colour challenge, and I once again used my Pan Pastels, that I just love playing with. The colours I chose were sky blue, passion purple and grass.

This is what I used:
Paper - blue cardstock, patterned paper from a pad by Marianne Design...Rose garden.

Image - from a set 'Urban stamps' Papermania by DoCrafts, stamped and then coloured with Pan Pastels. matted on card and raised with foam pads.

Rosette is a die from Nellie Snellen, also cut from the same paper pad and inked with distress ink.
Sentiment is a peel off on a Nellie's label.

Washi tape, pearls, and  butterflies using Nellies punches to finish it off.

I rather liked the end result and hope you will let me know what your think of it. I just notice that on the photo, the centre of the stamped image is not defined, but it is OK on the card.

Will enter the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart challenge #15...Anything goes
Squigglefly challenge #16...Flutterby Butterfly
Craft your Passion challenge #210...Pretty Pastels
The Crafty Bloggers Network...Diecuts or Embossing

Colour challenge with a tropical twist.

Good morning all,
Tuesday has come round so quickly again, but on one hand I don't mind. On Friday our son, dil and grandies  arrive from The Netherlands. It will be just great to have them around...even if we have to share them with the rest of the family.

Onto business for today!. The new colour challenge at The Outlawz is on, and it is the choice of Laurian this week. She gave us this gorgeous photo for inspiration with lovely colours and the twist can only be Tropical.

The DT have made really beautiful cards with these colours and theme and I urge you to go and have a look, then join us with your creations.

Here is my card for this week and what I used

Paper - Pink, blue cardstock with corners rounded
Yellow card using a Marianne Design die for a frame and inked the embossing.

Vellum put through the CB with a Memory box stencil and the 'no more shims' mat. This technique is described and shown very nicely by Kitty of Kittys Craft.  She has lovely ideas on her blog as well.

Image is Hibiscus from DS4J and you can find it  HERE. I coloured it with my usual Distress inkpads and some Pontura dots on the stamens, then raised with dimensional pads.

DS4J...Midway challenge #89..Wings

Good morning bloggers,
Wednesday and a reminder of the  challenge at Digistamps4Joy #89...add wings.

My teamie Sharon is hosting this challenge and she wants us to use anything with wings, butterflies, birds, dragonflies, fairies, angels...whatever takes your fancy...just not Goth entries please.

There are lovely cards made by the DT, so why not go and have a look at them. We would love to see your creations and you do not have to use a DS4J image, but of course you do get an extra chance for a prize if you do. Come and join in the fun.

I decided to go with these lovely birds and this is my card.

Sometimes one needs a card to give when a loved one has gone, so I decided to go with a simple card.

I used an embossing folder, and lightly coloured it, matted this onto a pink paper which I distressed with aged mahogany inkpad.
The image is 'Flamingo pair' coloured with distress inks, cut out with a die and raised on the card with dimensionals. The image can be found  HERE
The sentiment is from A Piece of Heart. Sharon offers some lovely freebies, so pay her a visit.

Have a good week, will try and pop in later in the week. Take care, have fun.

Using dies and punches for Easter

Hello everyone,
I am back again, this time with my DT project for Let's Craft and Create.  We were asked to use dies and punches, and I saw this lovely Easter gift idea at Kitty's Craft and  I decided to make some of these for my grandchildren for Easter gifts. This year we are also having our family from The Netherlands here in South Africa, so I thought this would be great for filling with some yummy eggs for the juniors and Easter goodies for the not so juniors.

It was very easy, using  Nellie Snellen MFDies and some punches.
The sentiment is from Netty's cards where you can find several lovely freebie sentiments. Well worth visiting her BLOG.

The DT at Let's Craft and Create have made lovely cards for your inspiration and as the challenges are now monthly, there is no excuse not to participate. Would love to see some of your projects there.

It's April...bring out the balloons

Good morning bloggers and a happy April month to you all,
I am sure all  my Northern Hemisphere friends are enjoying some spring weather, if not yet, I hope it won't be far away. For us in the South, lovely crisp autumn mornings and not excessively hot....I love this season. Seeing the leaves change reminds me that soon the trees will be bare and winter will be here.

Today is another  colour challenge day at The Outlawz. Roxann has chosen this beautiful inspirational photo with the colours and the "April Action" twist ...add balloons.

We are also lucky to have as our sponsor this month PENNY one of our own DT
