Going green

Hello everybody, I am back again,
This is a card I made for the  Progressive Freebie challenge over at CDAC. It works this way...you get a set of free digis, you make up your cards with at least one and then you get free ones for the next challenge and so it goes. I unfortunately missed out on the last 2...being away on holiday, so I had to buy in the new set for the bargain price of $1. The challenge ends tomorrow...hence my rush to get my entry in. This is the first one, hopefully a second will appear tomorrow.

The papers I used were green cardstock and a digital freebie with shamrocks. Sorry I can't give credit as in the early days I wasn't that careful about taking down details.
The image is from Crafting with Jack I printed onto watercolour paper, coloured with Tombow markers, cut out with a Nestability and mounted on the inside.
On the front I cut out the oval with a Nestability, matted dark green and the DP. In the corner a Iadded an Irish hat with a shamrock, also coloured with Tombow markers.
I will have to make a few more St. Patrick's day cards for my Irish friends, so better get a move on. 17 March will be here before I know it.
That's definitely it for today..might be back tomorrow.
Take care

Last chance for February

Good morning everyone.

The colours this week were chosen by Roxann....Black, white and the twist is... a colour of your choice

Here is my card for this week's challenge, and the twist on mine is the colour PINK

Sentiment...computer generated and put onto tags cut from a Marianne Design die.  The "GR8" I printed and cut out as little flags, then matted onto black and hung on the tag.
Added some bling and a corner cutout from a Cuttlebug die.
I didb't take a photo of the inside , but I added a small envelope for a gift card.

She was very happy...Granny this is COOL...so I take it that she liked it.

CAS 1.1.1.1. card

Happy Wednesday morning,
Firstly a big welcome to my new followers, love to have you here and hope you will come by often.
Woke up to a beautiful summer morning...still fresh after rain yesterday... again a heavy thunderstorm although not as bad as the day before. In the early mornings there is a definite freshness that makes one think of autumn...and the trees are starting to drop lots of leaves...but we still have some very hot days ahead and with all the rain it has been humid as well.   OK weather over... onto business.
Today's card is for the DS4J challenge CAS 1.1.1.1.
We were required to use the following:
1 image
1 patterned paper
1 plain paper
1 embellishment
Now CAS is not my "cup of tea", but I have always wanted to use Chef Henri, so thought I would give hime an outing, so this is what I came up with:

I punched the corners of burgundy cardstock, matted  onto my card . Printed the image..Chef Henri onto watercolour paper and coloured with Distress inks, cut out with a Nestability die, mounted that slightly over a DP....sorry no name...also cut with a Nestability.
The embekishment is made up of 2 buttons tied together with twine..

I hope you will hop on over to see all the lovely cards made by the other DT members, play with and show us your creation. You do not need to have a DS4J image, but you get an extra chance if you do use one.
I will be entering this into a few challenges;
The Crazy challenge..use a die or punch
Dream Valley Challenges .....Masculine
The Paper Players...CAS Masculine
That's my story for today have fun and see you soon.

Tuesday colour at The Outlawz

Good morning,
Tuesday today.... so a new challenge at The Outlawz. This week it was Sara to chose our colours...all white except for an image, if using it....and the twist was to add a flourish

This is my card...a challenge when I have to use only one colour....

The paper was white cardstock and a white shimmer paper for the lacy diecuts. These were made with my new Marianne Design Creatables that I brought back from The Netherlands. They are so lovely and I just had to use them. The flourish is from a Hero Arts stamp. I embossed it with white EP and added pearls. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.
A very plain card and it looks very nice IRL, taking the photos is another challenge.LOL
I hope you will have a look at the lovely cards made by the other members of the DT and feel inspired to come and join us with one of your own creations.

I am also entering this in a challenge;
The Crazy challenge.....Use a die or punch

Have fun and I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Back home with a card

Happy Saturday friends
Yes I am back home in SA after a very long, lovely holiday with the family in The Netherlands. Had lots of cold, snow, ice, skating (not me), crafting, fun with the children, good laughs, great time with Steven & Diane (son & DIL), even a"teaching" session at school. Our grandson who is doing English in school this year asked his teacher if we could come and give a lesson...so off we went and did an English lesson with group 7 at Twistvliet school..it was fun for everyone.
Now with my feet firmly placed on home soil it is time to get back to work....housework much needed...but crafting seems more inviting...so I guess a bit of both will do.
This card is one that I made while on holiday. I was lucky to be able to get the new Marianne dies as soon as they came out in January, so I used one of the flower baskets on this card.

White card, matted green cardstock and the DP from  a Marianne pad "Flower Power". Yellows and oranges are not my first choice of colours to use, but decided to go with them for this card.. I also cut out a cream shimmer piece with a Nellie Snellen die.
The basket and flowers were from a new Marianne die, finished it off with lace and an oval cutout for the sentiment mounted with brads. I tried my hand for the first time with Pearl Makers insted of pearls. Need to practise to get nice pearls, but it certainly works and I brought back some colours of these.
I haven't entered a challenge in months...so thought I would give it a bash this time...

All sorts challenge...Anything goes

Will be using these baskets quite a bit soon, as I just love the look of them and I have 3 different ones.
Well that's it from me....got to get back to doing some more cleaning???..crafting!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone..see you soon

Happy Sunday

Good morning to all my blogging friends.
Hope you are all enjoying a relaxing weekend. This is our last weekend of our holiday. Tomorrow is my DIL Diane's birthday which is the last of the celebrations of our holiday and on Wednesday we start our long flight back to South Africa. We had some more snow this morning and I think that will be the last of that for the moment...everything is still very white from last week's snowfall and freezing weather, but the ice is starting to melt. Must say the warm weather back home will be very welcoming.
This will also be my last card posted from The Netherlands.. I made it using the new Marianne Design stamp...Daisy knitting.

I made the card after seeing a similar fancy fold  one in a magazine..
I used local paper...from Studio Light
Image...Daisy knitting...Marianne design...coloured with aquarell pencils, cut with a Nellie Snellen die and a thin ribbon threaded through the holes.
A Martha Stewart edge punch was used for the borders and the flowers were cut with an Xcut daisy die and a felt flower and brad to finish them off.
Sentiment ...was a freebie in a magazine
That's it for now will catch up with you all when we are back in SA...take care

It has been a while

Happy Monday  to all my blogging friends,We came to the Netherlands 7 weeks ago and had hoped for a white Christmas, but that didn't happen..instead we had the warmest New Year in about 25 years....but we still hoped to see some snow and last Monday morning woke to a white world. The past week we experienced some really cold weather and in some parts of the country it was -22 the coldest in 27 years...here it was only -17..not too bad... LOL. We had more snow on Friday and since then it has stayed white and with the sun shining it is just beautiful to see....everyone was out skating and having fun on the ice and the temps have still been about -10 at night and -4 to 0 during the day. I guess we will still see the white countryside for a good deal of the week as more cold weather is forecast...as this is our last full week...we go back to SA on the 15th... we will certainly have more time for brisk walks out in the snow... Enough of the weather.. now on to my card for today.

I made this easel card as a sample for Diane's shop....Hobby Dee ..using her products.

Used a Marianne and cut a card with cream cardstock..... folded into an easel and inked the edes with vintage photo. Cut another large shape with cream onto that mounted a smaller shape cut from Vivi Gade  double sided design paper. Used a Nellie Snellen die for the smaller circle on the bottom and cut the hearts out of the DP. The back of one of the designs had all the hearts. Stamped a sentiment from a freebie that I got in a magazine.
The image is from a 3D sheet by Moorheads...very cute. Finished off with pearls made with liquid pearls.
That's all from me...I will be back soon with another challenge card I made...Till then take care.
