Under the Mistletoe

Hello everyone,
A happy Sunday to you all and enjoy the last day of May.

I am still needing to get a Christmas card into the 12 Months of Christmas link up, so I have just managed to scrape in under the bell. I did one early in the month and this is my second one and I have used the challenge theme..Christmas Critters.

This is my card with all the details below.

I saw this shape on the blog of one of my blogging friends Sylvia and she has kindly put the template on her blog. I just resized it to fit my card.

I used some scraps of Christmas paper left over from previous years.

The image is Under the Misletoe from Digistamps4Joy and you can find it HERE
I coloured it with Distress inkpads, added pearls and glitter. Cut it out with A Nellie Snellen die.
Added a Christmas tree, also cut with a Nellie's die...a very old one and 2 tags, stamped a sentiment onto the one.

Finished off with pearls.

I love this card and I think I will use it more often...thanks Sylvia.

Dad's Day off

Happy Friday morning friends,

Progressive Freebie Challenge!
The end of another month is looming and I need to get some challenges done. Today I have a card made using an image from the May progressive challenge set from Deedee's Digis

This is a real fun way of getting some gorgeous new images and the set for this month is called Dad's day off. Perfect for a Father's day card, birthday or just because. I needed  to make a retirement card, and kept it fairly simple with no 'fussy bits' for someone retiring soon.

The paper I used was a freebie from Lisa of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, who is so generous with giving free papers from time to time. She also runs a progressive Christmas challenge, so worth paying her a visit.

I matted the patterned paper onto brown cardstock.

The image is a precoloured one from the set (quick and easy) and the 'retirement' sentiment is also from the set.

The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with a Nellie Snellen label die and attached with 2 metal button brads.

This was the set for May. It also includes precoloured images which can be a great help when in a hurry and if you would like to join, then go and see all the details on Deedee's blog

I will enter my card in the following challenges:
C.R.A.F.T challenge #313...Father's day/male
Crimbo Crackers #81...Anything goes
The Crafter's Café #118...One for the boys
Double Click challenge...Father's day or man
Mod Squad challenge...Masculine
Stampavie and more #238...Boys
 Word Art Wednesday #185...Anything goes
Wonderful Wednesday...Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp challenge...Anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown #246...Anything goes
Love to Scrap #54...Anything goes
The Pink Elephant challenge #300...Anything goes

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get to do something that you really enjoy. Take care and see you soon.

No card this week... something else

Happy Tuesday everyone,
Firstly I need to welcome some more new friends. So happy to have you come and join my little family here and I do hope you will find something to inspire you.

This week at The Outlawz colour challenge we are asking you to make anything, but NOT a card. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but I do enjoy playing around with something other than cards from time to time...as long as it involves paper.

Laurian has challenged us this week and given us this gorgeous palette to work with.

Our sponsor for the last time this month is Lunagirl

We would love you to came and see the lovely creations that the DT have made for your inspiration.

I found this little 'stay closed box' during one of my searches on the web, and it is really so easy to do. These are the 2 links, one is inches and the other in cms.  I like that it stays closed and you open it by squeezing in the sides.

http://stampingbugscards.com/2015/03/20/stay-closed-box/
http://www.blush-crafts.com/

Here is my version of this box and what I used.

Cardstock - grey/green. Patterned paper - very old Papermania paper with a lovely linen finish

Images are precoloured from Lunagirl, cut out with a Joycrafts/Noor design die.

The frame is cut with the same die and coloured with PanPastels.

On the one side added a bow and on the other side a sentiment.

Finished off with pearls.

Will enter some challenges:

Scrappers Delights #44...Anything goes
Creative Corner challenges...Anything goes
Simply Papercraft #5...Anything goes

Good morning all my friends and visitors.

I used paper from one of the paper blocks for the background. I then used a stencil and some texture paste to create a brick wall onto  white cardstock. When it was dry I went over it with distress inkpads.

Add Shine in the Colour challenge

Hello friends,
Can you believe that it is Tuesday again.....not sure where the days fly off to.  This week at The Outlawz the colour challenge has us using 5 colours and adding some shine.

We still have Lunagirl images as our sponsor for this month and the DT have used some of their lovely images. We would love it if you came and joined in this week.

This is my card using the colours and adding some shine.

Paper - blue cardstock, green patterned paper, matted onto the purple

I used a LeCrea'z 3D die for the cute basket as well as the garden fork and spade. The paper for the basket has a slight metallic shine, but is not so good on the photo. I used mirror board for the gardening tools - my shining twist.

Image is a bunch of daffodils. I printed and coloured 2 sets and then cut them up to place in the basket. put this all onto a square die cut, also a metallic finish.

I also used a die to cut the pink trellis

Sentiment is from Marianne Designs

I used the following sketch from Aud Sentiments for my card, and will enter it in some challenges:

Crafting from the Heart #60...Anything goes
Craft your Passion #262...Anything goes
Love to Scrap #54...Anything goes

We are still having such lovely weather for this time of year, but I am sure we will suddenly be unpleasantly surprised with cold weather. Using the daffodil image, has reminded me to get my bulbs for planting soon. Love these pretty flowers for my spring garden.

I am done for now. I hope you have a great week, take care and thanks for visiting. See you soon.

DS4J, Midway challenge 112...Buttons, Bow, Bling

Hello blogging friends,
I firstly want to say a big welcome to me newest followers, Lady Anne and Colette. So happy you have joined my little group of friends and hope you will find something here to inspire you.

We are halfway through this month, so it is time to remind you of our challenge #112 at Digistamps4Joy . Sara is hosting the challenge and has chosen...Buttons, bows and bling. Now that shouldn't be a problem, but if you need inspiration, then hop over to see what gorgeous cards the DT have made.

Just remember you do not have to use a DS4J image to enter, but you do get an extra chance for the main prize if you do.

Sewing set (x20)This is my card.
A pop out using some of the sewing set images, that can be found HERE This set contains 20 different sewing items.

Paper - I used pieces from my stash...trying to get through the stack of pieces and offcuts. The paper with the buttons was sent to me a number of years back from a blogging friend and this is now the last of it. I did some 'stitching' round the edges of some of the papers, with an old dressmakers pattern marker tool, that I had from my Mom's sewing box.

The zip diecut is a Marianne design, and I did some stitching with a white gel pen.

The images are coloured with distress inkpads. The Pin cushion I matted onto a piece of foam, so that I could put the pins into it. added some frosted lace. I added some thin ribbon onto the cotton reel, cut the needle out of mirror board and pinned it onto the reel. The thimble I raised with silicone, brushed glossy accents on for a glazed look and attached some gems to it.

Added, lace, buttons, bows and a doily diecut

The sentiments were taken from a book of sentiments, printed and cutout with a Nellie Snellen  MFD, and finished with some faux stitching round the edges.

 I will enter some challenges:

Crimbo Crackers #80...Diecuts
In the Pink challenge...Stitching real or faux.

I made a centre step card for a change.

Gift box with flowers

Happy Friday morning friends,
I do hope that the weekend will be filled with lovely things to do and great weather to do them in. For those celebrating Mother's day this Sunday, I wish you all a fabulous day.

I made a gift box, but there is a story to it. As part of a DT assignment we were to make a gift box using the cutting file supplied. I was so happy to make one as I needed a gift for a friend. More than halfway through, I reread the challenge theme, yes you guessed it. It was to be a male theme....Ok plan B, I now have the template all sorted so no problem, but I didn't have enough paper for what I had in mind....So onto plan C and another card made from a car template. I then finished the box for my friend's gift.

The template for the box came from The Cutting Cafe I cut it out by hand and assembled it. The template comes with 2 options...a single box or 3 boxes as shown in the photo.

The paper that I used is from Michele R Designs

The range is called Vintage Shabby Flowers. Michele has gorgeous designs and if you subscribe you will get regular updates and she also has lovely free papers from time to time.

The flowers and leaves are all made from Marianne Design diecuts.

I added lace, pearls and ribbon to close the box.

I added a sentiment on the inside, which came with the papers and the Diecut is from Joycrafts..Noor design

I am entering the following challenges:

Crafting with an Attitude #3...Anything goes
Crafty Ribbons #118...Anything goes with ribbon

Being a new month we also have a new sponsor. Lunagirl has given the DT a number of gorgeous images to work with.

This is my card using one of the flower images. It reminded me of the California Poppies we have just planted in our garden, and I love them.

Coloured the flowers with Distress ink and cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD.

Sentiment is from Marianne Design

Added pearls to finish.
