Anything goes at Digistamps4Joy

Hi friends and a happy Wednesday to you all,
I think winter has decided to show its face here in my part of the world, as it has been a lot cooler and last night we even had a sprinkling of rain....not sure where that came from...we don't have rain in winter, well not usually.
Well enough about the weather, now about the latest challenge at DS4J. This is a midway reminder for Digistamps4Joy  challenge #92...Anything goes, hosted by Margy the owner and artist.

Please remember you do not have to use a DS4J image on your entry, but of course you will need to use one to win the BIG prize and a digi image or a stamped one is a requirement to enter the challenge.

Now on to my card. I decided to go with a nautical theme this time.

It is a normal square card, but I added a built in stand.

Paper - Dark blue cardstock, with DP on the inside
I cut out the centre with a Nestability die, and then used the same set to cut a frame in white cardstock. I covered the frame with texture paste and then went over it with gold and bronze Pan Pastels.

Image - I used sailboat and anchor and you can find them HERE. I cut the sailboat image out with the same die I used on the front and mounted this onto the inside of the card. Coloured the image with Distress inks, added clouds and a few birds. I embossed the lower part with a CB folder to give the wavy effect and shaded this with Pan Pastels as well.

The anchor was also coloured with distress inks and added some Pan Pastel pewter for a metal look.

Sentiment - Happy Birthday was cut with my new Impression Obsession die.

Twine and a charm to finish.

I hope you will come and join in this easy challenge. Have a look at the DT cards, they are full of inspiration.

It is summetime at The Outlawz

Hello my blogging friends.
I have just seen that it is a week since my last posting...I can't believe it, but I have been  "mega" busy, so no wonder the time has just flown by.

OK, so this week for the Colour challenge at The Outlawz, the lovely inspirational photo was chosen by Roxann with the twist...make it summery, and of course we have had lovely almost summery weather the last few weeks, but yesterday winter decided to put it's foot through the door and it has been rather chilly.

Our sponsor this month is Sandi's Samples and I have used the lovely 'Sunflowers' from Sandi...this will brighten any winter's day.

The DT have made some lovely cards to inspire you, so head on over and see what they have created.  We would really love you to come and join us with a summertime creation.

Here is my card and this is what I have used.

Image - Sunflowers by Sandi, coloured with Distress inks and added a touch of glitter to the flower centres and leaves - doesn't show up much on the photo.
Cut it out with a Nestability die and shaded round the flowers while still in the die with Pan Pastels.

Paper - DP..Noor design, condolence paper bloc.
Cut a larger die and ran that through the CB with an embossing folder and then coloured it with a dark grey  Pan Pastel.

Put a ribbon under the two die cuts and added a bow, with some pearls.

Sentiment stamped onto the DP is from Whiff of Joy.

Will enter in the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations challenge #92...Anything goes with punches or dies
Craft-dee Bowz challenge ...Anything goes with a handmade bow
Crafting from the Heart #19...Anything goes
Digi Makeover challenge #141...String/twine/ribbon

Another special colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning blogging friends,
Tuesday has come around again with another colour challenge at The Outlawz. Once again it is one of the special challenges,  where you get to make choices.

Ina has chosen the inspirational photo this week and she has chosen the colour turquoise which must be used on your project, the other 2 colours can be any of those in the photo...and you also get to choose your twist. When entering just let us know what colours you have chosen and what your twist is.

I decided to go with a sort of CAS look, and I got this idea from a card I saw on another blog Outside the Box

I have a problem making any CAS cards, as I always feel it needs something else, but this time I stopped here. The colours I chose are dakr blue and medium blue, with the twist to use a stencil.

This is what I used:

Background - Doobadoo stencil, with Distress inks..salty ocean, peacock feathers.. I could have made the circle a bit bigger.
Butterfly - Marianne Design Craftables CR1205...added some bling and glitter
Ribbon - stamped the sentiment onto it
Pearls to finish.

I do hope you will pop over and see the lovely cards made by the DT for your inspiration. This month the prize has been donated by Sandie's Samples

Just for fun!

HappySunday friends,
Today I have a card to show...not a DT card...this one, just because I wanted to make a card.
As I had previously mentioned my son, dil and grandies have been here for 3 weeks. I also had a birthday 2 months ago and they brought me some lovely gifts ...Dutch Doobadoo stencils and more Pan Pastels, so of course I had to have a bit of playtime with these.

Here is what I used:

Paper - red cardstock. The I used one of the new stencils and my Pan Pastels and created some background paper. It is not too visible here, but I had fun just playing. I used theDoobadoo sunshine stencil and colours from the butterfly that I had  coloured first and a butterfly punch in the one corner.

Image is a Joycrafts stamp, Silhouette Butterfly. Again I played with a stencil and first coloured the paper before stamping. The butterfly was also coloured with the Pan Pastels using the new set of shades.

I added some fibre under the stamped image. Finished it off with a twine bow and a charm, also a few pearls.

Sentiment - Whiff of Joy stamped onto a banner.

I must say I had fun making this and am entering the following challenges:
Sister Act Card challenge #56...Anything goes

Circles with colours at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
I am back after a lovely week in the country with our family, enjoying good company, food, wine and having fun. No internet, limited phone coverage, dark skies with lots of stars at night, lovely sunshine with no clouds during the day...in all a magical week.

So now back to work. This week Roxann chose the lovely inspirational photo  for the colour challenge at The Outlawz. The twist she called for was to use a circle.

For my card I used one of my brand new Dutch Doobadoo stencils that I received for my birthday, ..more about these in a later posting.

Image... Joy Craft stamp coloured with Pan Pastels cut with a circle die and mounted onto a scalloped navy die.
