It's Black and White at Let's Craft and Create

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. It seems incredible that we are already well into the first week of 2023. I hope that you had time to relax and enjoy the holiday season in whichever way you celebrate. I also realized that with the summer solstice that has come and gone, our days will start getting shorter and heading to winter which is a scary thought as we have not yet had much summer...we have had plenty of rain and as we are in a summer rainfall area that has been good for the dams. I hope you all have a creative, enjoyable year.

OK now onto the new challenge for January over at Let's Craft and Create which is always Anything goes, but with an optional twist.. Black and White.  The DT have some fabulous cards for inspiration, so do hop on over and see what they have to show. You have a whole month to enter your projects and there is a prize for some lucky participant...

I have made a very simple card and as I have done for the past 2 years, I am only using from my stash.

I  embossed cardstock with a very old embossing folder and matted it onto black cardstock.'

The flower is handmade. I cut four flowers of different sizes using a Joycrafts Floral Flourishes die.

Sprayed them with water and crinckled them a little when almost dry. Used a brad to hold them together.

Added a gingham ribbon and some pearls

The sentiment is a no name stamp.

I will enter in the following challenges:

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday challenge  ...January ...Anything goes

The Paper Shelter .. Christmas break challenge ...Anything goes

A Perfect Time to Craft ... Open challenge #1

Crafts Galore Encore challenge January 2023 ...Anything goes

Love to Craft challenge #72 ...Anything goes

I do hope you will come and join in this first challenge of 2023.  and I will see you soon.

Love, Ursula

Feeling sketchy at Let's Craft and Create

Talk about being late... this post should have been done a week ago, but you all know that sometimes life happens and things don't go as planned. The latest challenge at Let's Craft and Create started last week and  as usual  the theme is Anything goes with the option of using a sketch for your card.

For my card I used the following all from my stash, and followed the sketch from a challenge of The Outlawz.

Paper and cardstock cut and trimmed with a scalloped edge

The image is from Beccy's Place. I cut it with a nesting die and layered onto a larger diecut.

Added a flower trim and used some of the flowers to scatter around.

A bow to finish it off.

I will enter the following challenges:

Gem of a Craft challenge ...Week 23...Anything goes

Crafty Calendar challenge ...November challenge ..Anything goes

Creative fingers challenge ...#242 ... Anything goes

Pattie"s Creations Designs ...#200 ...Anything goes.

After a very hot start to Spring we are now having somewhat cooler and very rainy days. The gardens have just sprung to life, but I do hope we get some warm summer weather soon...never happy are we!!

Take care my friends wherever you are in the world and I hope that things go well for you as we enter the last months of the year.

See you soon, love...

New Tuesday colour challenge

 Hello friends,

We start a new chapter at  Tuesday Colour challenge. of The Outlawz.

The theme for this challenge is Tic-tac-toe.

Use any row, either horizontal, vertical or diagonal to create your project.

For my card, I have used the vertical row on the right, and this is what I did.

I used the colour of the first square for my first layer of card, using Craft cardstock

The sailing boat was my inspiration from the middle square and I used a Marianne design die, coloured with Pan Pastels

The sky and sea was taken from the last square. ...for the waves I used an embossing folder coloured with Distress inks, the clouds were brushed also with distress inks.

The sentiment I used peel-offs.

If you head over to the challenge blog there are lovely cards from the DT for inspiration. We would love to see what you have to show us .

Take care and see you all soon,

Love Ursula

Feeling Distressed

 Hello crafters,

We are in the first week of August and here in the South Africa, we are looking forward to Spring which is just around the corner.   This month at Let's Craft and Create we have another Anything Goes challenge, but have an optional theme of "Feeling Distressed" .distressing  paper, etc.

For my card, still using papers from my stash, I distressed the red paper with  tiny hearts scattered all over, appropriate for an  Anniversary card.

The white paper is a piece of handmade that I tore roughly along the edges and attached a piece of old lace rescued from somewhere.

The heart is cut from a very old Cuttlebug die and a small red heart with pearls attached.

A peeloff sentiment was added.

I will enter it in the following challenges:

A Li'l Patch of Crafty friends #186   ...Anything goes

We love to create  ...Anything goes

Elliebelle's Corner August challenge ...Anything goes

Through the Craftroom Door August challenge ...Anything goes

Take care, wherever you are. Stay safe and keep wearing a smile.

Let's Create and Craft ... new challenge with purple and green

 Hello to everyone,

Welcome to a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create for the month of March. This is my favourite month, being my birthday month, I met my hubby many years ago and got engaged in March (not in the same year) and it is the start of autumn ...a season I love with crisp mornings, warm days and lovely cooler evenings.

This month the challenge is as always,  Anything goes, but with the option of using purple and green...2 great colours. The design team have used these colours in some gorgeous projects for inspiration, so please pop in and leave them some love.  There is also a small prize up for grabs, so please join in the fun and you have the whole month to do so.

I have decided to carry on with my mission of using up my stash and also making CAS cards.

The paper is from an old Joy Crafts paper pad ...Happy Bloc's.

The butterfly is die cut using a Marianne Design die, and stash paper.

The sentiment is a freebie from  Desert Diva

I will enter the following challenges:

Creative fingers challenge #226 ... Anything goes

Cards 4 Galz #167 ..Things with wings
