How about some metal this week

Good morning friends and a Happy April,

It does seem hard to believe that we are into April already....time flies when you're having fun!!

This week it was my turn to choose the palette for our Colour challenge at The Outlawz. I used this lovely photo for inspiration and added the twist to use something metallic.

For some inspiration please go and see the cards made by the DT. They are really awesome.

We have a new sponsor this month... Digistamps4Joy with a gift certificate for our winner.

My card was made with an image  daisies which I have had for some time.

I used a green paper from an old paper bloc of Marianne Designs,

The green oval was cut with a die and then embossed

The white oval card is cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

My image was printed and cut out, then mounted under the metal watering can which was cut from a sheet of thin metal using a Memory Box die.
I was so happy to use some of this metal as I forgot that I even had it

The sentiment  was stamped onto a label and mounted with 3D tape.

Pearls to finish

Last colour challenge for March

Hello bloggers,

I have been a little slack in posting the last few weeks, just life happening.
Today I have the last Colour challenge for March at The Outlawz. This week it was Kimberly who chose the picture and colours, but she was clever and left the twist up to each one.

Sheepski Designs has been our sponsor this past month with her lovely images, for which we thank Andrea.

I used 2 shades of blue and the white for my colours and decided to leave the colouring for another week and for my twist decided to go with paper piecing, so added some of the papers that I used for her umbrella, bag and shopping bag. They are all from a  paper block that I have had for some time.
Added a few pearls just for a bit of glamour.

Will be entering a few challenges:

Crafting from the Heart #200...Anything goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #78...Anything goes
The Corrosive challenge  #3...Anything goes
Elliebelle's creative Moments... Papercrafter's Linky Party #8
Crafty Friends challenge #80...Anything goes

Thank you so much for visiting. Take care,

Love Ursula

Easter

Good morning friends,
It is time for another challenge at Let's Craft and Create. The challenge theme is always 'anything goes' but this month with the option of Easter which is only a few weeks away.  If you go and visit the blog you will see some gorgeous cards by the DT for inspiration.
There is a $10 gift certificate for the winner of the challenge, so we hope you will come and join us.

My card was made using the following:

Cardstock from my stash...both the colours have a slight shimmer to them.

I embossed the top layer with a very old Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The cross was made with  an old Nestibilities die. I used ribbon instead of the paper diecut around the cross. Attached with a pearl.

Sentiment was printed on my PC and cut with a Nellie's die.

Added pearls to finish.

I will enter the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations  #195...Anything goes
Crafting from the Heart #197 ...Anything goes
Use your Stuff ...Anything goes.

Thank you for visiting, I do appreciate it. Take care and I hope that the warmer weather will soon be coming to those in the cold Northern parts of the world

Take care and see you soon.
Love Ursula.

Up and away

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Yay, I am on time this week with the new colour challenge at The Outlawz. Laurian has chosen a lovely photo for our challenge this week using the 3 colours given and a twist of adding a balloon...now it can be any kind of balloon. Our sponsor has  given the DT  lovely images to work with, including some hot air ballons, so many of the team have used these this week.

Our sponsor is Lunagirl

I also used one of the images from the Sponsors's collage sheet for my card.

The background paper is from Time traveller's memories by Prima.
Matted the image onto blue and red paper and attached it with yellow brads.
The sentiment is a diecut from Impression Obsession.

Entering the following challenges:

Retarte #115...Anything goes
Always Fun challenge #46...Anything goes

Something other than cards today.

Happy Saturday friends,

Yes today not blogging any  papercraft, but rather some yarny projects.

Over the past 2 years or so I have crocheted about 12 blankets of various sizes for the girls in my family. My 4 granddaughters each got one and then decided the 4 DIL's needed to get as well, then my only SIL also received one at the end of last year. I have also done 3 smaller lap throws and these have gone to a charity that I have made  a lot of granny squares for. I have really enjoyed doing all this and have had a number of ladies in our retirement village showing an interest in doing something ...either knitting or crochet.

About 6 months ago I gave it a try and we started a small group meeting twice a month and making squares for blankets for charity. Just before Christmas I was given 6 completed blankets and some squares. These all went to the local group called Maak 'n Verskil ( Make a difference) who donate blankets, beanies, scarves anything to keep people warm in the cold winter.  This week I will be handing in another batch of about 200 squares, 3 blankets, beanies, scarves, bed socks and a few other items. I am so proud of the ladies who are doing such a great job.

I have also decided  to make some more blankets or throws as there are so many lovely patterns out there and I can always gift them to someone.
So at the monent I have 2 main projects going.

The one is A square a week challenge"" on Facebook. We are now on week 6. I have completed the first 4 and am busy on #5, so will catch up before long.

I have quite a bit of Scheepjes Colour Soft left over from one of the granddaughter's blankets so am using this yarn for that project.

I am having a great time with my crochet and in the next posting I will show 2 more projects, 1 completed and another a work in progress.

Have a wonderful weekend and will see you soon.

Love Ursula

Hello everyone,

It is Wednesday and I am again a day late with posting the Colour challenge at The Outlawz. This week it was Kimberly who chose the lovely inspirational photo for us. The DT have come up trumps with some lovely projects, so do coma and join in the fun.

DT have used this week.

For my card I followed a sketch from The Outlawz.
Paper from my stash matted onto  card. Coloured the edges with distress inkpads.

Label cut with a Nellie Snellen MFD and also inked the edges.

Coloured image I used is taken from the Fairy fold collage sheet

Added twine and a brad.

Shades of Purple

Happy Wednesday to you all,
I am a day late, but at least I am here. This week at the Colour challenge of The Outlawz, Jacqui chose a monochrome theme with shades of purple. The DT have made gorgeous cards with purples.

With a new month comes a new sponsor and we are so happy to have Lunagirl with their lovely images as our sponsor this month.
The prize is a page of their lovely images.

For my card I have used an image from the sheet of Shabby Violet with some lovely images on it.

I enlarged the picture and cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD also using this set for the border diecut.

Added a small lazer cut butterfly coloured with distress inkpads and glitter.

Pearls and ribbon to finish it off.

Left the sentiment off as I will add it later when I need to use the card.

I will come back tomorrow to enter some challenges, as we had a power failure about 6 hours ago and then the power came back but no internet connection.

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you soon.

Hugs, Ursula
