Something new

 Hello friends,

Yes there is something new...2022.  HAPPY NEW YEAR  I hope that everyone is ready for this year so that we can make it a great ONE with positive attitudes and creating lovely things. At Let's Craft and Create this month our challenge has an option of "Something new"...a home, a year, a baby ... anything new.

The team have all created stunning projects with this theme, so please head on over and see what inspiration they have created. You have a whole month to enter and there is even a small prize so start off the year with joining in our challenge.

This year, I am continuing my mission of using up my stash. I like to think I made a small dent in it last year, but there is still a whole lot more to use.

The cardstock is all from my stash and I cut and embossed a piece. The embossing folder is an old Cuttlebug folder. I inked the edges and lightly went over the embossing with a Distress Inkpad.

The embelishments are the last of a selection of baby items.

I am trying to make cards that would be good for the Charity shop that I support. I like for them to have a selection of popular cards for selling.

I will enter this in the following challenges.

A place to start January ...Anything goes

Crafting happiness  #119 ...Anything goes

Simon Says challenge Monday challenge ...something new

613 Avenue creates January ...Anything goes

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #173 ...Anything goes

A bit more time to Craft  Dec/Jan ...Anything goes

I hope wherever you are in the world you are keeping safe. The weather in many places has been very harsh and severe and I my heart goes out to the people who have to live in such extreme conditions. I hope that you receive the strength to get through this. The health issues that many have to face be it from the pandemic or anything else makes life a challenge for many and I pray that you also receive strength to face these.

Take care, stay safe and let's hope that this year will see some easing on the challenges that have faced us the past 2 years.

Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

Love, Ursula

Let's Craft and Create with a Vintage Feel

 Hello friends,

I can almost not believe that we are down to our last challenge for 2021...despite all that has happened the year seems to have galloped past. Well let's concentrate on this challenge and not dwell too much on the year to come.  As always the challenge at Let's Craft and Create is anything goes, but this month the optional theme is "Vintage Feel"  The ladies of the team have made beautiful projects for inspiration, so please pop over and leave them some love.

I have once again raided my stash.

The paper is very old and only had some pieces left, but sufficient for this card.

The flowers are cut from a design sheet, also a number of years old.

The sentiment is cut with a Crealies die,

The label is a Joycraft die.

Some lace, ribbon and pearls to finish it all off.

Something with wings

 Hello, Hello,

It has been a while since my last post...all is well here. Spring has arrived and we have had our first rains which were most welcome...the lawn has turned green and everything is lovely and fresh.

This month over at Let's Craft and Create the new challenge has an option of adding something with wings to your project. The DT have all used such great images for inspiration, so please pop in and leave them some love.

I am still on a mission to use up my stash and making simple, no fuss cards. I donate a lot of my cards to a charity for raising funds for their projects and these are what sell best.

I ran a piece of patterned paper through the CB with a butterfly embossing folder.

The butterfly is a Marianne Design die. I used a shiny patterned paper for this and attached it to a square with punched corners.

A peel off sentiment to finish.

Entering the following challenges:

Crafting Happiness #116...colour challenge .. I used purple

Make my Monday # 158 ...Embossing

Stripes or spots

 Hello all,

What has happened to this year apart from Covid...August has crept up on us, not that I really mind as I have had enough of winter and know that spring is just around the corner.

I do hope that everyone is keeping safe and well, have had the vaccinations but still taking care to stay safe.

This month over at Let's Craft and Create we are suggesting that you might like to use spots or stripes or  you can use both if you wish. The DT have some great inspirational projects for you so do pop in and see what they have to show. There is also a little prize awaiting...so come and join us.

I have just gone with stripes this time, teamed it with  pretty floral and matching pink diecuts. All papers from my never ending stash of paper.

Beads and a diecut sentiment to finish

I send many of my cards to a charity shop, and they have a need for less fussy cards...so that is what I am making at the moment.

I am entering the following challenges:

Crafty Creations #424 ...Anything goes

Creative Moments #219 ...Anything goes

Little Red Wagon #613 ...Just because

Mod Squad challenge ...Give thanks

I wish you all a great month, take care and thank you for visiting me.

Love, Ursula

This month we use a punch or die

 Hello friends,

The title of my post does sound a little rough, but it is just the theme for this month's challenge at        Let's Craft and Create.   Quite a fun challenge as I am sure you all have some punches in a drawer. So I will get straight into the details for my card.

I embossed a page of printed paper with one of my favourite folders and thought some lovely butterflies amongst the flowers would be perfect.

I used Nellie Snellen punches that have matching embossing punches on printed paper for the butterflies.

The tag is also a punch with ribbon threaded through..

Pearls and gems finished off the card.

I have been able to keep to my resolution to use my stash and no new purchases, but I can't really see any decline in the quantities.  I will keep persevering though.

I will enter the following challenges:

Gem of a challenge #14 ...Anything goes

Crafty Calendar July ...Anything goes

Creative Fingers #211 ...Anything goes

As we are mostly still living in very uncertain times...lockdowns on and then off, restriction rules constantly being changed, I do hope that you are all able to keep busy with your crafts, whatever brings you pleasure and that you and your families are keeping safe. We are under a lockdown and so staying home is the norm, but this week we will be going to received our second jabs, and even though nothing will change in our behaviour I hope that it will give us some protection for the future.

Take care, stay safe and be kind.

Let's add buttons

 Goodday friends,

I do hope you are all keeping safe and healthy. If you are in the Southern part of the world like me, I think you are feeling the winter chills and hope you are keeping warm. In the North, it seems that summer has been a little slow in coming to some parts but hope you are all making the best of whatever weather mother nature is handing out right now.  As for  Covid, if you are in some form of lockdown, I trust that you are able to find someway of keeping busy, and if the restrictions are lifted where you are, please take care and be safe.

It's time for another challenge at  Let's Craft and Create and this month we are inviting you to add buttons to your project as an option....of course our challenges are always "anything goes" but it is great to add a little something else to the challenge.  The design team have some super inspirational cards for you, so I do hope you will pop in. You have a whole month to join and a lovely gift certificate is up for grabs.

My card is again a fairly simple and CAS one....no colouring of images for me at the moment and as I am still on a mission to use up my stash of papers I pulled out an old KaiserCraft  range of papers for this card.

All the paper is from that range and even the border is a strip that is just pull off and stick down.

The sentiment is from a page of words and I just cut out the letters of each word. I thought these words just right for my frame of mind at the moment.

And for the optional buttons, I added 3 of those.

I am entering the following challenges:

Crafty Catz challenge #55 ...Anything goes

As you like it challenge ...CAS card. I like the symplicity of CAS cards

Crafty Creations #422 ...Anything goes

Creative Moments #215 ...Anything goes

Ellibelles Corner June challenge...CAS

Word Art Wednesday ..Week 493 ...Anything goes

Thank you for visiting me here, and hope to see you soon. Take care, stay safe.

Love Ursula

No patterned paper this month

 Hello friends,

Welcome to my story for this month as we have a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create.  Here in my part of the world we are well into autum which is a lovely time of the year. Crips mornings and evenings and usually lovely sunshiny warm days, but we have had some rather chilly and rainy days. Rain is very unusual for us as we are a summer rainfall area, but any winter rain is most welcome for our gardens as we only get our rains again in October.

I do hope you are all coping with whatever this Covid 19 epidemic is throwing at you... We do have restrictions but are coping and still staying at home as much as possible. Waiting for our vaccine rollout which should start in a week or two and as we are over sixties and hubby over 80 he will among the first recipients....I pray that this year will see us return to some form of normality, but I think for us air travel to visit our families will still be a long way off.

Back to the challenge. The theme for this  is as always ...Anything goes with the option ... no patterned paper.

The DT have some lovely projects for inspiration and please pop over and see what all they have to show. I hope you will join in this challenge and there is even a small prize up for grabs.

I went with a very CAS card,

2 layers of card, embossing the top layer and giving it a light sanding to bring out the green.

The sentiment is diecut and I added gems for the dots on the i.   Finishing with a ribbon bow.

Entering this in the following challenges:

Crafty Creations #421...Anything goes

Lemon Shortbread # 145 ...Anything goes

Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends #157 ...Anything goes

I am a little late with posting this, but had some technical issues.

Thank you for stopping by and I love any comments you might leave..    Take care and see you soon..

Love, Ursula xxx
