Paper strips instead of ribbon

 Hello crafters,

Can you believe we are in the last quarter of 2023 and the new challenge for September at Let's Craft and Create, as usual is Anything goes, but with an option of adding paper strips instead of ribbon.

Still trying to use up my stash I have a fairly CAS card again this month. 

I coloured my cardstock layer with Pan Pastels, as I seem to be running out of some colours....a good thing I think, and coloured the paper flowers with the same brush.

A few pearls and a peel off sentiment to finish it off.

New challenge...from the Heart

 Hell o to you all,

Here we are in February,  not sure where January went. There is a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create with the usual Anything goes but the option in this month of Love...From the Heart...so bring out those heart punches, dies, stamps, paper whatever you have.

The DT have made such lovely projects for inspiration, so please pop over and see what they have showcased.  You have the whole month to enter and be in line for a small prize, so please join in the fun.

I still had a piece of paper with hearts on in my collection, so it was put to good use, matting it onto  red card.

The kitties are a Marianne Design die. with added bling on the necks.

The sentiment is an old stamp, cut out and matted onto the red card as well.

A simple design, but one that I can use.

I hope wherever you are, you are keeping healthy and safe. We have seen footage of extreme weather in some parts of the Northern hemisphere, and here in our little corner of the world, our weather has also been strange...Summer has been playing games with us...here for a few days and them missing, but we are happy with the rain that has been falling, even though sometimes we think we have had enough. There are still parts of the country that are suffering drought conditions.

No patterned paper this month

 Hello friends,

Welcome to my story for this month as we have a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create.  Here in my part of the world we are well into autum which is a lovely time of the year. Crips mornings and evenings and usually lovely sunshiny warm days, but we have had some rather chilly and rainy days. Rain is very unusual for us as we are a summer rainfall area, but any winter rain is most welcome for our gardens as we only get our rains again in October.

I do hope you are all coping with whatever this Covid 19 epidemic is throwing at you... We do have restrictions but are coping and still staying at home as much as possible. Waiting for our vaccine rollout which should start in a week or two and as we are over sixties and hubby over 80 he will among the first recipients....I pray that this year will see us return to some form of normality, but I think for us air travel to visit our families will still be a long way off. 

Back to the challenge. The theme for this  is as always ...Anything goes with the option ... no patterned paper. 

 The DT have some lovely projects for inspiration and please pop over and see what all they have to show. I hope you will join in this challenge and there is even a small prize up for grabs.

I went with a very CAS card,

2 layers of card, embossing the top layer and giving it a light sanding to bring out the green.

The sentiment is diecut and I added gems for the dots on the i.   Finishing with a ribbon bow.

May challenge at Let's Craft and Create

Good morning,
With a new month comes a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create  The theme this month is Ribbon, lace or twine. You can use all three or any of them.

For my card I used:



Cream coloured card and used a brick stencil with Distress inks to add some colour.

Cut a dark brown card and placed at an angle.

The papers are from a Prima paper pad...Time Traveller's memories.I did some stamping with random stamps over the once piece and stamped Happy birthday onto the top piece.

Cut 2 labels with a Lea'bilities die and printed a sentiment onto the one and tied them together with a twine bow.

Added some cotton ribbon and metal brads to finish

Autumn - challenge #97...Let's Craft and Create

Happy Wednesday friends.
We are having a holiday here in South Africa today, being Heritage Day, and it is definitely not autumn here, but a gorgeous Spring day, warm and sunny with a lovely blue sky.

Well it may be Spring here, but the challenge today at Let's Craft and Create is Autumn. The DT have made lovely cards for inspiration, and I think anyone in the Northern parts of the world, will possibly be feeling the changes of the season.

This is my card.

I made my background paper by stamping leaves and colouring with Pan Pastels. I love this effect. Matted this onto dark brown cardstock.
The Sentiment was a freebie from Paulette at Create with TLC  Cut it out with Nellie Snellen MF dies
Added ribbon and a piece of daisy trim that I have had for ages, and thought the colours perfect for this card.

CAS challenge on new DT

Hello friends,
I am very excited to be invited to join the DT on  Let's Craft and Create. I must admit when I heard that my first challenge was CAS, I almost did an about turn. You must understand CAS is not my strong point. I don't think I have entered more than a handful of CAS challenges, as I always feel so 'intimidated' by that empty card. Well I had committed and had no choice, so this is what I came up with. When once I had sort of decided what to do it went quite quickly, but then......I had to stop and not add more  and more.

I embossed the bottom half of the card with a CB folder, and embossed the design with white embossing powder,
Stamped the sentiment onto a label
 A ribbon with pearls to finish

Well this was my first card for this challenge, and I will be quite honest in saying I am looking forward to the next challenge. The other members of the DT have made some lovely cards, so please go and have a look and leave them some love.
