Another Teddy

Happy Saturday everyone,
Yes it"s the weekend, and a lovely sunny one it is too. At last got a card made for a challenge and hopefully it can be entered in a few.
Teddy stampers Obviously the Teddy bear and they asked for Fall colours
Annabelle's No DP.
EHI blog An animal. My first time entering this one

Paper: Cream cardstock for the card, then because the call was for no DP, I put my card through the cuttlebug with the butterfly embossing folder (you do get butterflies in autumn). I matted my image onto a brown card.

Image is one of my new Penny Black stamps I bought from Shamela recently. Coloured this with distress ink pads and the flowers with twinkling H20's. I would normally have used spring colours as we are in Spring now, but this challenge needed Fall colours, so a little out of my normal colour range. I also swiped the background with antique linen distress inkpad, as the white just didn't look good.
Sentiment is a digital one from TLC

Finished it off with a few pearls and a brad.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

New home

Hi blogging friends, Well after my complaint of no rain for so long, guess what. YES!! We had rain. Not much, just enough to settle the dust (all over the cars), but it sounded good, even had thunder, and it smelt wonderful. Hope we get some more now.
Another card today - another "no fuss one" My son and family in NZ have just moved into a beautiful big house, so this card is off to New Zealand. (hope to visit next year).

Paper: white Cardstock, matted a DP from Paper Salon. - stiched scribbles.
Stamped images from Hero Arts cut out with Nestabilities and coloured with watercolour pencils. The image also from Here Arts was stamped on the inside. Forgot to photograph that.
Well friends it is weekend, and hopefully I am going to play with some of my new toys that I brought back with me from NL. Maybe even get to do a challenge or two. I know the garden is calling for attention, so will try and do a bit of both. Have a wonderful weekend wherever and whatever you are doing.
Warm wishes

Music

Hello everyone from a very hot and dry South Africa. We haven't seen any rain here where we live for the last five months and it is very hot at the moment. It should be spring, but I think we skipped that season, and we are now into summer with temps of 28 to 30 deg. Anyway I got to make another card yesterday.
I belong to a group on PCP, "Anything but cute" and the theme this week was MUSIC, so this is what I came up with.
Paper: Cream cardstock, matted a brown onto that. The DP is one that I bought a number of years back in The Netherlands, It is an Italian decoupage paper that has such a lovely feel to it, and I just fell in love with it.
Image: A Crafty Individuals stamp and I used only a part of it, stamped with distress ink - brushed corduroy.
Sentiment: Is a computer generated and aged the paper with a teabag.
Hope you all have a good week, we are over half way.

Birthday card

I was very pleased to be able to make a card again. This is for a special friend.
Paper: White cardstock, Lavender card I scored a section where the sentiment was stamped on, and then ran the rest through the cuttlebug.
Image: A digital one from Isabella's, coloured with watercolour pencils and cut with a nestie. Swiped the edges with my colour box chalks.
Sentiment is from WOJ.
I also decorated the inside, again using a cuttlebug folder cutting out the centre with an oval nestie, leaving a space for the message.
I rally enjoyed making a card again. Have been doing some swaps as well, so am being kept rather busy,
Warm wishes

I got candy

Hi everybody,
Blogging is going a little slowly. Still so much work to catch up on. It is the season coming up for craft markets, so lots of people wanting things and lots of glazing and also wedding season so lots of candles. etc. etc. Oh well never mind. At least I got to make a card today, but first things first.
When I left my family last week I was given lots of gifts, so I have candy to show.
This is what I was spoilt with. A set of 48 Copic ciao markers, and another set of skin tones. 4 Nellie Snellen Dawn stamps, Some Christmas "foamies", laser cut decorations, and then some fragrances for my soap making and a box of short pins for my candles, also some books and other freebies not in the photo. It felt like Christmas came early this year. Now I need to use all these things and also the new dies and folders that I bought.Hopefully this weekend will see some results. Watch this space.
See you all soon.

Hobby Dee

My DIL Diane has just opened a new hobby shop in Mijdrecht. I spent time at Hobby Dee giving her a helping hand (or two)It was certainly different from my normal working day and was lovely to chat to the customers who were all so enthusiastic about her shop. She also has a large haberdashery section which was welcomed by everyone who popped in. Here are a few photos of the shop on opening day.

Back Home

After a 3 week "working" holiday I am back home and trying to catch up with everything. I spent the last 3 weeks in the Netherlands helping my DIL with her new hobby shop. This is is the card I made for her to wish her luck.
White card, matted a green card onto which I put letters cut with my cuttlebug.
Stamped a sentiments and cut it with a Nellie Snellen die, matted onto a DP and added flowers punched with a floral punch. It is lovely and colourful, and looks better in real life.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. We had a holiday here in SA today (Heritage Day) so it was ideal to try and get back into the swing of things.
