A little bit of sewing to be done.....

Hello all,
I didn't think I would be back so soon, but I almost forgot about my card for the CDAC progressive challenge.   If you haven't played before then you are missing out on some fun. When you join you receive an image and you have 2 weeks to complete a card and enter into the challenge, you then receive another set of images and so you can keep going.
I had almost finished  and I had put it aside to complete, and forgot about it......but remembered it just in time. This challenge ends tonight, so here is my card:

I decided to make an easel card for a change.
The image is from  Patties Creations
I printed it on plain paper and then printed parts separately as I wanted to do some paper piecing and layering. I cout out the image with a Nestability die and did faux stitching round the edge.
The paper is from a pad of Papermania's Capsule Collection.
I cut some thread spools with a Joy die and the scissors is a Marianne die.
Computer generated sentiment and added some colourful buttons.

I need to see if there is a challenge or two to enter
All sorts challenge blog#178...In stitches

The Corrosive Challenge blog#161...Know when to fold them

Roses, rainbows & little piggy

Good evening friends,
I have had a very busy and productive day. Workshop prep. to finish off for a pewter class tomorrow, DT card, samples for nextweek's workshop and more...so yes got a lot done today.

I have a card to show that I made last week but just never got to post here.

First though a bit about our weather. We have been having very strange weather with heavy winds and in some places large hailstorms. We have been very lucky to escape the severe weather and as a result also the rain. So while we have lots of noise going on around us not much in the way of water for the garden. This afternoon we really thought our luck had run out. The sky was quite dark and we just waited in anticipation, but again it went all the way round. We did get a few minutes of quite heavy rain, but when hubby called me to quickly come and look....there was the most beautiful rainbow.

As soon as the rain stopped he went to take a photo of our Iceberg rose bush, which is so beautiful, even after a being drenched by the rain and what was left of the rainbow.

It was just such an incredible sight, the whole rainbow was visible with the most beautiful depth of colour, while it was poring down with rain.

OK...back to business. This is the card I made for the CDAC challenge no 21. The image was from Doodle Pantry. I used the sketch from 365 Cards, day 228. Coloured with watercolour pencils. DP from pieces in my stash and the sentiment...computer generated.

Entering the following challenges:
365 Cards...Day 228...sketch
On Stitch at a time...Use a digi
The Crafty Pad...Use an animal
Fussy and Fancy#74...Anything goes

Wishing everyone a very good week, see you back here soon and take care.
Love, Ursula

finished off with brads, ribbon and a charm all from my stash.

I also decorated the inside with a lovely little poem "Why God made little boys"

Happy Easter at The Outlawz

Good afternoon friends,
Into the first week of April and being Tuesday we are having the  Colour Challenge at The Outlawz. Our twist this month is Artsy April. This week it was my turn to choose the colour palette and this was my choice:

I decided to make a card for the  Progressive Freebie challengeat CDAC and combining it with these colours, and I used the sketch from the Papertake Weekly challenge, for last week

The papers I used were all from my scrap box, so not sure of the DP. The green piece I put through the cuttlebug.
The image was from Stamping Dragon Designs and I coloured Miss Bunny with aquarelle pencils, and cut it out with one of my new X-Cut fancy dies, inked the edges. Ribbon was also from my stash and the little buttons I have had for ages, bought in The Netherlands. The "twist" in the challenge calls for beads to be used, so I did just that with a beaded pin, that I had once won in some candy.
The sentiment is from one of my blogging friends Hannelie a fellow South African living in Dubai. She is very generous with her sentiments, so maybe pay her blog a visit.

Now I would like to invite you to see the cards from my Teamies and join us with a project of your own. This month  we are sponsored by

Nana Vi'cs digitals with some gorgeous digis, and the prize is a $12 gift certificate in her store., so we would really love to see what you can create for our challenge this week.

I will enter my card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly challenge...Anything goes.  I used the sketch from last weekm but was too late for submitting my card.
Cute Card Thursday...Happy Easter
Aud Sentiments challenge..Happy Easter with Sentiment
Top Tip Tuesday...Easter/Animals
Totally Papercrafts..Easter
Sarah Hurley challenge..Easter

Enjoy the rest of the week, a short one with the Easter holidays coming up. Have fun, take care and see you soon.

Just a flower

Good afternoon friends,
Hope you are having a good weekend and enjoying whatever you are doing. We are having lovely late summer weather, still warm, even quite hot and a little cloud...maybe a rain shower later...just such nice weather right now.
Today my card is made for CDAC progressive challenge. The image is from Glitterbabe..just a flower.

I printed 2 sizes of the flower and coloured with distress ink pads and added a bit of glitter to the centres. It doesn't show up too well here on the photos. I cut then out and mounted them next to the  sentiment which was stamped and cut out with a Nestability die. I matted it onto yellow and cut the same shape.
Mounted it all onto DP from Marianne designs...Songbook. I punched one of the corners with a daisy corner punch and added a bling to the centre.
Happy Birthday was stamped and cut out with an X-cut label die.

I used the sketch from   Wednesday sketch challenge at The Outlawz..so I will enter it there just for fun.
I was quite happy with the end result, and will enter it in the following challenges:
All sorts challenge..say it with flowers
A Muse Studio challenge..Bloom where you are planted
One stitch at a time challenge... use a digi
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care...see you back soon

Going green

Hello everybody, I am back again,
This is a card I made for the  Progressive Freebie challenge over at CDAC. It works this way...you get a set of free digis, you make up your cards with at least one and then you get free ones for the next challenge and so it goes. I unfortunately missed out on the last 2...being away on holiday, so I had to buy in the new set for the bargain price of $1. The challenge ends tomorrow...hence my rush to get my entry in. This is the first one, hopefully a second will appear tomorrow.

The papers I used were green cardstock and a digital freebie with shamrocks. Sorry I can't give credit as in the early days I wasn't that careful about taking down details.
The image is from Crafting with Jack I printed onto watercolour paper, coloured with Tombow markers, cut out with a Nestability and mounted on the inside.
On the front I cut out the oval with a Nestability, matted dark green and the DP. In the corner a Iadded an Irish hat with a shamrock, also coloured with Tombow markers.
I will have to make a few more St. Patrick's day cards for my Irish friends, so better get a move on. 17 March will be here before I know it.
That's definitely it for today..might be back tomorrow.
Take care

A good read.....

Good evening friends
It certainly is a good one here. A really lovely summer's evening after a hot and steamy day......but still no rain. Our weather forecasters are predicting showers that don't seem to be falling anywhere near us.

I would like to welcome some new friends here at my Crafting Corner. It is always good to see new faces and I hope you will pop in often.

I have no card this time but a book mark which I made for the Progressive Freebie Challenge over at CDAC. The image I have used is from Just some lines ..

Here is what I used.
Paper....Dark green cardstock, punched the edge with a new X-cut border punch.
DP..I got  some in a swap sometime back and only had a little piece left...just enough !
Image..Just some lines...coloured with distress inkpads
Sentiment..computer generated.
These bookmarks are so easy to make, and my blogging friend  Sharon makes them slightly differently, but I got the idea of the ribbon tag from her. You might want to pop over and see the lovely creations she has. I was lucky to win one of hers.

That's all from me for today will have some more tomorrow. I have fininshed some lovely cards that I made in a class, so please come back and visit.
Take care.
