Gift card

Well here we are Tuesday morning already. I have just been so busy with orders and swaps, etc not too much time for challenges. Hope to do some on the long weekend. I have had a few birthdays to make cards for. This one is also a gift card holder.
I used a blue cardstock to which I matted a "happy birthday" DP. not sure where it was from as the name had been cut off long ago.
Stamped a cupcake, from a clear set I got "unknown name". Coloured with watercolour pencils and glitter and a bead cherry covered in glitter. Cut out with my nestabilities and matted onto another nestability. The flowers were 3 punched out flowers put through the cuttlebug embossing folder layered and held with a button.
The sentiment stapmed on the inside is from the same set.
A very quick card to make, Have another couple to do for gift cards as well.
That's it from me today, Let me know what you think. Warm wishes and have a good short week.

Cute Card Thursday, Karen's challenge

http://karensdoodlesnetherlandschallenge.blogspot.com/

Good afternoon, hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Sunday. We are having a beautiful late summer/early autumn day.My card to day is for the Cute Card Thursday challenge, theme was Dimensions. It is a digital image(a freebie) from Karen's Doodles. a new site I found.

The card is a white cardstock, onto which I matted yellow card put through the cuttlebug with the butterfly folder.

The DP is a piece I had over, not sure where it is from.

The image was coloured with Tombows and watercolour pencils. It was cut out with my nestabilities and matted onto a scolloped blue nestability.

The dimensions are the 2 easter eggs, (peel-offs) that I coloured, and a flower that I layered with punchouts.

The sentiment is also a peel-off.

I loved this image and will go and have a look at what else is on her site http://www.karensdoodles.blogspot.com/ I know she has another freebie.

Love to hear from you and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Scor-pal, Totally Gorjuss

Good evening everyone. It is wednesday evening not much of the week left. I made this card for a swap on a Scorpal group that I belong to and suddenly thought it might fit the Totally Gorjuss challenge of using ribbon. Hope it is Ok for that.
Paper; white cardstock. Matted pale yellow, that I embossed with a cuttlebug folder and scored two lines on the side . I also scored lines around the green square where the image is matted onto.
Stamps: Tulip is from Country craft rubber stamps and I also have the larger version, which is quite nice to use the 2 together sometimes. Stamped the leaves with distress ink and the flower was coloured with tombows on the stamp.
Sentiment: WOJ stamped with distress ink
Ribbon from my stash, placed between the two scored lines.
It was such a quick card to make, I enjoyed that.

Teddies, teddies, teddies

Today's card is for the Teddy Stampers challenge. "Mother's day" is the theme for the challenge. In South Africa Mother's day is celebrated in May, so this card will be given to someone to give to their Mom. Sadly, I don't have a Mom to give it to.
Paper: White cardstock. DP from Scrapsheets (a local co.) called icing sugar dots.
Images: Teddy stamps also local, stamped onto white card cut with nestabilites and matted onto blue card. Teddies coloured with tombows.
Embelishments: Flourish cut with a Krealies dye. Layered flower from my stash. small heart from cuttlebug.
Sentiment: computer generated.
I just love teddies, but need to get a few more stamps. Please leave me a comment. Love to know what you think,

Annabelle's Stamps challenge

This is the card I decided to enter for the challenge. I made it for a dear blogging friend who is very ill. I used the sketch from Annabelle"s stamp challenge

Paper. White card, matted pink card with dark pink flourises stamped onto it. The DP paper was a small piece I had left from some I bought last year in the Netherlands.

Image - Clear Art Stamps - message on a bottle. I bought this set at Hobby-ex and it is the first time I have used it. Coloured with twinking H2O's and some glossy accents on the bottle stopper.
The sketch required some bling so I have put on some rhinestones and a flower to make it pretty.
That's it. How do you like it. Hopefully will be back tomorrow with another card. Have a great week, luckily for the SA ladies, it is a short one.

Mo's digital challenge

The challenge was any shape card, but not square or rectangle. So this was what I decided on. It was a really easy card to make. I found the template some time back.

Paper: Different colours of cardstock. The base I scored lines with my scor-pal, and swiped with a brown stamp. The next two pink layers I ran through the cuttlebug with 2 different folders. Cut out a circle of red for the cherry, and a little stalk. The cherry i covered with glossy accents.

Image: I am sure recognised by all who use Mo's images, coloured with my watercolour pencils

Sentiment from a set with cupcakes.

I didn't think it needed any other embellishments.

Teddy stampers challenge

Well I can't believe I managed another challenge today.
I followed a sketch from Teddy stampers and this is what I made of it:
Paper: white card, with yellow matted, then a strip of "grampa's pants" DP from a local company Fabscraps.
A strip of blue cardstock run through the cuttlebug.
White card cut with a nestability, edges chalked.

I haven't added a sentiment, as I am not sure yet who our dancing teddy is going to go to.
Well only one more day to go and then weekend. Hope you all have a good one. It has been exceptionally hot here today.
Take care

Folded card swap

I recently joined in a swap on our RSA stamping group. 25 members took part, and we were each given a different folded card technique to do. This is my contribution. - a side step card. The cards have now been swaped out and it is just an amazing thing to see all the different card folds, and how each person decorated them. What a library to have. I will take some more photos and post these later.
I swap that I really enjoyed doing and a brilliant idea from our hostess Susan Nel. She has some lovely cards on her blog as well.
Thanks for stopping by, Have a great day.

Mo's challenge no. 21

Lucky me, I got to make another card for a challenge. The requirement on Mo's challenge was to use blue, brown and a neutral white or cream. I have wanted to colour this image for some time now, so this was my opportunity.
Papers: White cardstock, blue card and a DP called "Cabdy balls" from Scrapsheets. Cut out the design with my nesties.
Image was coloured with aquarelle pencils.
Sentiment from Whiff of Joy
Embellishments: buttons, ribbon and brad from my stash.
Hope you are having a lovely day. Here we are having late summer weather, warm days with a hint of an autumn breeze. At least the excessive heat seems to be past, maybe not in Cape Town though.
In a day or two I will show some cards from a lovely swap I took part in. Just waiting for all the ladies to receive their cards.
See you soon, love to hear from you.

WOJ challenge no 69

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a good weekend and ready for a new week. I haven't blogged for a whole week, as I had so many things to do. I finished a 12 card Easter swap, and a few others, and tried to get birthday cards out. That was the fun stuff.
I am hoping to get in quite a few challenged this week. Here is the first.
The Whiff of Joy challenge was for "coffee and cream" certainly not my usual colours, but had a try.
Papers: Card stock, - white onto which a matted brown bazzil card.
DP. The first is PSX Paper designs. A piece which I had for ages. Cut with a nestability from a Fabscraps paper "bohemian natural" This is a local company, and then also cut a brown nestability
I received my new stamps a week ago and couldn't wait to use them. Decided on "Willow with champagne" as it is a birthday card and she looks all ready for a celelbration.
Cut it out and coloured it with my aquarelle pencils and some twinling H20's.
Embelishments. Ribbons from my stash, punched paper flowers, pearls and some glitter.
It felt really good to make a card after a week off.
Hope to be back soon. Love to hear from you
