Celebrate something new...challenge at DS4J

Happy Wednesday everyone,
In a week it will be Christmas eve. I just love that evening, spending time with family, but it seems to have arrived so quickly.

Well today is a reminder of  challenge #106 at Digistamps4Joy. Riette is hosting this challenge and she has chosen to 'Celebrate Something New' It can be anything..from a new baby, car, home, job...whatever.

My card is for a new calendar. I intend making a calendar to stand on my desk, and this is the first page. I already have a few ideas for the other pages, but I just thought this was perfect for January. Here in South Africa it is high summer and the gardens are looking so pretty with all the flowers, even our newly started garden is looking lovely. So in the coming months I will show off the other pages.

Paper - Marianne Design paper pad..Belle Fleur
Image - coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with an X-cut die
Pearls to finish and eyelets for mounting the page.

The DT have made amazing cards for your inspiration, so would love you to take a look. You do not have to use a DS4J image, but you will have an entry for the main prize if you do use one. Time is running out this year for challenges, so end the year off with a entry into the this challenge.

December 2011

Happy Friday everyone,
Wow this month is moving as fast as the rest...or maybe even faster. Everyone is counting down...holidays...Christmas.....end of the year....no wonder it is flying past.

Today I am showing the last of this year's calendar pages. This was my contribution to the calendar.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and a great weekend. This is our last "free weekend" before our holiday, so will be madly trying to get as much of outstanding work done as possible, then a bit of crafting  will HAVE  to be done.
Take care, see you soon.

November.......almost at the end

Good morning friends,
A beautiful Sunday morning here, blue skies, the birds are all happy and it promises to be a lovely summery day. No rain forecast so a great day for doing all the outdoor activites that are planned.
We are almost at the end of this year as far as months go, so here is my page for November.

It was made by  Marcelle (Moz) Roberts  in Pietermaritzburg, one of my RSA group friends. She has put together a stunning page and her cards are always a pleasure to look at. You might want to pop over to her blog to have a look for yourself. She also makes the most gorgeous Teddy Bears and knitted socks.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend wherevery ou are and take care.
See you soon.

August calendar page

Hello there friends,
We are well into the first week of August and I haven't shown this month's page.
It was made by Shamela and is bright and cheerful, just giving a hint of what's up next month when Spring starts to show. Wow!!! only 4 pages left to show, better start thinking of next year's pages. Have a wonderful weekend, as it is almost here.

Another month, another page

Good morning to you all, Saturday morning, the weekend. Hooray!! Yes we are into the second half of the year with the start of JUlY, so another page from my calendar, with snowmen and snowflakes. We are of course in the middle of our winter, not as cold as some of my northern hemisphere friends might have it, but nevertheless COLD enough. The last few weeks we have had really cold nights, down to about -2deg C to 3 or 4deg and the days even though they are sunny,(we are in a summer rainfall area, so very seldom get rain in the winter) have been between 8deg C to 17 degC. with some icy cold winds blowing from the southern parts of the country where they have had some snow. Here in the highveld around Johannesburg we very rarely get snow, just frosty mornings when it can look very white on the lawns, but never mind in a few weeks we will see the first signs of spring and then it will begin to feel warmer.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and to all my friends in the USA have a wonderful Independance day on the 4th.
Ill be back soon.

June calendar page

Happy Wednesday bloggers.
It is a cold winter morning here in South Africa, no wind but freezing. the temp as I type this is -1degree and it is now 6.30. the max. forecast today is 13 deg, but at least the sun will be shining. Enough of the weather forecast. LOL
Can you believe the first day of June, we will soon have to start thinking of Christmas!!
I have another calendar page for today. This was made by Sylvia from our stamping group. It has a very warm African look to it.
Have a wonderful day, downhill to the weekend. Will be back later, I hope with a card.

Back home ..... May calendar

Happy Sunday to all my friends. Well I am back home after a lovely relaxing holiday with our son and family in New Zealand. Now have to try and get back into work mode, not easy after 6 weeks of R & R, but I am really keen to get back into crafting.
Before the month of May disappears I would like to show the page from my calendar. This was made by Jana Kasselman and it is a lovely feminine page, no doubt she had Mother's day in mind for this..
I hope to have some ards to show soon, as I better get onto the birthday cards that I need.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, take care, and will be back soon.
