Another Christmas Card

Good morning friends,
It is almost the end of February, and that means that my card using the free Christmas image from Digistamps4Joy should be posted in the Christmas challenge blog, or I won't be getting the next image. Well pleased to say I have made it. I had the image coloured, but just didn't get to putting the card together.

I coloured the little dragon with Distress inks and Twinkling H20's as these have a lovely shine. Added some puff paint to his hat for the fur effect and a bit of glitter to the bauble on his tail. I cut it out with an X-cut die.
The papers are left over pieces from my stash, with the red piece put through a CB folder and sanded slightly.
The sentiment is a Nellie Snellen stamp, punched out with a ribbon punch also Nellie Snellen and ribbon threaded through.
Pearls to finish.

Off to post it on the Christmas challenge and then will wait to see what the next image will be. If you would like to join in this challenge you can request the new image and then keep making a card every month with the new image you receive. A great way of staying ahead with your Christmas cards.

Reminder challenge #85..Have a heart at DS4J

Happy Wednesday everyone.
Not only are we halfway through the week,  but almost halfway through the month as well, and just 2 days to go to Valentine's day, when hearts are called for.

At Digistamps4Joy we have just that...challenge #85..Hearts, which is the choice of Karin and we are halfway through that as well. My card for this challenge is a side step card with hearts, but it isn't a Valentine card, so no red.

Here is what I used:
Paper - purple cardstock, DP from
Image - Angel Angie and you can find it  HERE Coloured with Distress inkpads, Twinkling H20's, glitter, Pontura pearl drops. Printed the heart twice and raised it with silicone.
Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die, inked the edges and added pearls.
The heart border is a Memory box die - Cherish border
The sentiment was computer generated, taken from a book of expressions that I have.

On the Digistamps4Joy blog you will be able to see all the lovely cards made by my fellow teammates and they are stunning, so hop on over and take a look. You do not have to have a DS4J image to play in the challenge, but of course you get an extra chance if you do have one. so please come and share your creative projects with us and lovely  prizes to be one.

Coffee time

Hello friends,
Hope you have all had, or are having a good day. Talk about almost missing the boat...I got this image of Leah with her latte from Guylou's Inimitability a while back and was really wanting to use it. I saw a challenge on Guylou's blog and decided to enter it, but thought it was ending tomorrow...yikes I had a look a few hours ago and saw that it ended today.....so had to get going. Luckily I had already coloured it, so just had to get some papers together.

The challenge was A....apple red, B...bling and C...charm, that was the difficult part, but managed to find something. This is what I came up with. Coloured the image with destress inks, cut it out with a scollpoped oval, a X-cut and Nellie Snellen die for the sentiment which I printed on the computer. The papers are from a pad ...Lost and found by Madison Ave, The coffee stamp was a gift from a friend when I fist started card making and has no name. Finished off with bling, pearls ribbon and a charm.

Now off to see if I can enter another challenge or two.

A pocketful of wishes

Good evening everyone. As I said i need quite a few birthday cards the next few weeks, so am trying to get on with them Here is another one.

This is how I did it.

Paper: White cardstock, matted a pink cardstock and then DP from My Minds eye "pretty please" that I received as a free gift with a magazine.

Image: The "pocket: is a stamp in a set from Darcies Heart & Home. I stamped it onto another of the DP papers in the Pretty please booklet, and cut it out. Mounted onto the card, I made a tag for the pocket with a computer generated sentiment.

Stamped "happy birthday" onto the DP, punched it with a circle and mounted it onto a Nellie Snellen MFD cutout.
The inside used another of the DP "Pretty please" and again cut out the circle with a Nellie Snellen and added a plain cutout for the message.
Finished it off with a button from my stash.
Hope you are all having a great week. We are still having so much rain. Looking forward to seeing some sunny days before the end of summer.

Fan folds are fun

Hello friends on a glorious sunny summer afternoon here in SA. The last day of October is upon us... very scarey, which makes me think of Halloween. So for those celebrating halloween have a lovely weekend, "trick or treating .... enjoy and have fun.
One of the groups I belong to has a challenge to use a fan fold flower and looking on blogs so many of the rosettes are appearing on cards, or as decorations. I have decided to put one onto an easel card, as I needed to make one for a challenge on a PCP group.. anything but cute.. which this is. Easel cards are such fun to make.

Paper. - card is an off white, onto which I matted a Racy raspberry, and then a vintage DP called Heritage - small floral - from a local South African oompany - Fabscraps.
I used the same DP for the fan flower and mounted that onto a darker colour cut with a nestie, and added a small punched flower and pearl onto that. The flourish is the same darker shade cut with a Crealies die and finished off with a few pearls.
The sentiment is also from a local company Great Impressions cut with a Nellie Snellen die mounted with foam pads.
The edge was punched with a MS punch and again a few pearls for some bling.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Sketch Saturday challenge

Happy Sunday to you all. I decided to make a birthday card for a friend who loves her garden, using the sketch on this challenge blog. This is my first time entering sketch saturday challenge.

Paper: Off white card, matted DP from Funky Hand's "Dreams come True" CD
Image: "Saturday in the garden" from Isabella's digital, printed onto watercolour paper, cut with a Nellie Snellen die and coloured with aquarelle pencils. Matted this onto another Funky Hand DP also cut with Nellie Snellen die.

Sentiment: Hero arts.
Embellishments. Ribbon, matted a strip cut with Cuttlebug, and tied the sentiment on with paper string. Flower brad, and a paper flower cut with die and punches. Pearl in the centre.

Enjoy the rest of the Sunday and have a wonderful week.
