Inspired by a scene

Good morning friends.

I hope you all enjoyed a peaceful and happy Easter. After all the holidays we have had the last few weeks, I wasn't sure just what day it is today, but I realised it is Tuesday, so that means another colour challenge at The Outlawz.

This week we have a lovely inspirational photo for you, and I am sure there is so much that you can use as inspiration for your card. Just let us know when entering the challenge what it was that inspired you...the colours, the scenery, season, or whatever...have fun.

For the last time this month we have  Digistamps4Joy  as our sponsor, and we thank them for that.




For my card this week I was inspired by the scene with hills and flowers, so decided to create my card using this theme.

I made a fold out pop-up card (not sure just what it is called).

For the front I used a printed  sheet from an old Papermania paper pad Country Companions...Lots of love and hugs.

I matted it onto a floral printed piece and then coloured the edges of the second piece with Distress inkpads..

Stamped a Hero Arts sentiment on the front.

For the inside which has the pop up part, I also used paper from this pack. The floral sheet and then part of another preprinted piece, where I used the pathway and the fence only.

The Image is called Bunny knocks and you can find it HERE I coloured it with Distress inkpads and added small punched out flowers with little pearl dots for the centres

I also added a tree cut from a Marianne Design die.

The sentiment is also from the Hero arts set, cut out with a die and attached with flower brads.

Added a punched border to finish off the top.

It's Easter time

Happy Tuesday to you all.
I hope the week is going well..we had a holiday yesterday, so this is a short week for us, as the Easter weekend is coming up with more holidays. The weekend was quite busy, but in a relaxing sort of way as I had a birthday on Saturday. Lovely to have phone calls, skype call, messages and visits from family and friends.

Today there is a new colour challenge at The Outlawz and this week it is the turn of my teamie Ina to choose the colour palette and twist. This is what she asked us to do. Use the 3 colours and make an Easter card.  So easy with a lovely inspirational photo.

The DT have made some lovely cards so do hop on over and join in the fun.

This is my card and the details.

I used the sketch from Cheerful Sketches for my card. See the sketch below.

The paper is all from my stash and was all digitally printed. It came from Mad About Cards,The bunny paper can now be downloaded free HERE

The image is coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD, matted onto a oval diecut and then mounted with foam pads onto the card.

The happy Easter sentiment paper is matted onto the blue strip, but is very light and not easily seen.
 Finished it off with 2 bunny brads, that I have had for years and always forget to use.

Creative Craft Cottage ...Anything goes

Good morning friends,
Today is a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies. It is officially the first day of autumn here in South Africa as in all the Southern hemisphere and with days like this I know why I love this season.

It is also a public holiday here...Human Rights day. I could say a lot about this day, but my wish is that all peoples human rights could be respecteded...I do think the world would be a better place.

Now on to the business of today. Over at Creative Craft Cottage there is a new challenge starting today, with the popular theme of Anything goes. We do again have 2 sponsors and the DT have made amazing projects for your inspiration. Please go and visit and leave them some love.




I am using an image from Lemon Shorthbread and you can find it HERE










I sponged the base card around the edges with Distress inkpads.

The paper is from a new paper pad of Marianne Designs - Flower garden.

The image called Fairy Flower Scent is coloured with Distress Inkpads and glitter added. I cut it out and mounted it over a frame which was made with a Marianne Design die. I also sponged this in the same colours as the card edges.

I added a ribbon, a selection of handmade flowers with some leaf diecuts.

To finish it off,..pearls, a bow, hat pin with a butterfly charm.

A new progressive challenge

Good morning friends from a rainy Johannesburg.

It is such a lovely cool rainy day, I guess much like the Irish weather, so let me start by wishing all my friends a Happy St. Patrick's day. I hope the sun is shining for you.

There is a new progressive challenge on the Digistamps4Joy FB  group  https://www.facebook.com/groups/636935063114458/  You need to join the group and then you will be able to download this image 'Art Deco Beauty'.  Post your completed card in the album and at the end of the month you will receive another image....so easy.

I made this Z fold card

Paper is from a floral paper bloc of Janneke Brinkman.

Coloured the image with Distress inkpads, cut it out and mounted on the card, only attaching the body. Added some gems on the wings.

The sentiment is computer generated from my stash of quotes. Cut out with a CB die, and attached with a bow.

Digistamps4Joy challenge #122

Hello friends,
Here I am the second time today with another DT card. Over at Digistamps4Joy this month's challenge is hosted by my teamie Jackie, and for the optional twist she has asked us to use an animal. As I hadn't entered any Christmas challenges so far this year I thought I had better get going with that, so here is my card using the image "it's time"and you can find it  HERE

You still have till end March to enter and remember, it is Anything goes, with the option of a twist.


I used some very old paper...still trying to use up old Christmas paper.

Coloured the image with my usual Distress inkpads and added glitter here and there.

Stamped the sentiments and then added the words with letters cut out with a Joycraft alphabet die.

Something with green today

Good morning all,
At The Outlawz this week the
colour challenge
is hosted by Laurian. She has given us this lovely photo for inspiration, and lucky for us we can choose 2 colours to use with the green. We also get to decide on our own twist....That is a lot of fun. Please pop in and see what fantastic projects the DT made this week.

The paper is from my stash.

I printed two images. Coloured the first one and cut it out with a MFD. The second one I only coloured the shamrock, cut it and glued it to the first one. Attached a brad in the centre.

The sentiment is one I found some time back...I don't know where and I had no reference. So if anyone knows whose it is please let me know and I will give credit for it.

Finished it with brads in the corners.

Tic-tac-toe at The Outlawz.

Good morning on a somewhat cloudy and slightly cooler morning.

Today we are having a tic-tac-toe colour challenge  at The Outlawz and it was the choice of AJ. I love all the options we have been given..
I do hope you will come along and have a play with us.

I used a newly released image from Digistamps4Joy called Phantasi 3 and you can find it HERE



For my card I went with the bottom row of the grid, and the twist is to add pearls and lace.

The paper I used is from a brand new paper pad of Joy Crafts.

I coloured the image with Distress inkpads and added gold Ponura pearls with a gem. Used a Nellie Snellen MFD with a shimmer gold paper.

Added a flourish, lace and pearls.

The sentiment is from A Piece of Heart where Sharon shares some super sentiments. Do pay her blog a visit.

Fly wherever your heart may take you

Good morning all,
Today is the first challenge for March at Creative Craft Cottage and the theme for this challenge is 'Let's get sentimental'....so we need to see those sentiments. Please do go and see the stunning array of cards made by the DT , there is so much inspiration to be had.

We are lucky to have a few sponsors for this challenge. I am using an image from Rick St Dennis called High Flyin Mouse and you can find it HERE.






I made a double fold card...not sure what it is actually called.

The paper is from an old collection of Papermania called Hampstead

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and cut with a MFD die.

The sentiment was printed and I took it from a book of quotes that I have.

Attached some twine and on the inside tied 2 tags with the birthday sentiment using peeloffs.

Digistamps4Joy has new images

Good morning friends,
I hope you are having a great Sunday. Over at Digistamps4Joy there are some stunning new images released today, and I have used one of them. To see some of the DT cards you need to visit the the challenge blog and I am sure that will inspire you to get some of these beauties.

For my card I used the image Phantasi 1.


This time I pulled out my Twinkling H20's as they have a bit of shimmer. I addled stickles to her face. Cut it out with a Marianne die.

I added a frame also cut with the Marianne die set. Layered all this over pink cardstock, that I embossed using a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and the spritzed with a gold glimmer mist.

The sentiment was stamped onto a label die.

It's almost Easter.

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone.

Well it is time to start thinking of getting some Easter cards out and at Let's Craft and Create the theme this month is Easter.



Some of the DT have made some really cute Easter cards for inspiration, but I have gone with a more traditional card.

I embossed the background and used my new Nellie Snellen die to cut the circle and the cross.

The sentiment is one I got from a blogging friend Hannelie , and she has lovely ones on her blog.

Colour challenge with a twist of leaves.

Hello again everyone,
I am back with my second card today.

Another one for an Outlawz challenge, and this time I am hosting the colour challenge
 I saw this gorgeous picture some time back and it reminded me of the time when I had done quite a lot of stained glass.
 For this week's challenge I would like you to use at least 3 colours from the palette and add some leaves.

This is what I came up with.

Paper from my stash.

I used an embossing folder from Papermania...Woodlands collection (I think) and printed the image 'Toadstool Khaya'  in the space. Coloured everything with Pan Pastel chalks and added some pearlmakers in places.

The Sentiment is from Hereo Arts and cut it out with a label die.

Progressive challenge at The Outlawz

Welcome to the beautiful month of March. I have a special love for it as it is my birthday month and in the past many lovely things have happened in my life during March.

I decided to make a get well card, as these are often needed at short notice.
