No patterned paper this month

 Hello friends,

Welcome to my story for this month as we have a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create.  Here in my part of the world we are well into autum which is a lovely time of the year. Crips mornings and evenings and usually lovely sunshiny warm days, but we have had some rather chilly and rainy days. Rain is very unusual for us as we are a summer rainfall area, but any winter rain is most welcome for our gardens as we only get our rains again in October.

I do hope you are all coping with whatever this Covid 19 epidemic is throwing at you... We do have restrictions but are coping and still staying at home as much as possible. Waiting for our vaccine rollout which should start in a week or two and as we are over sixties and hubby over 80 he will among the first recipients....I pray that this year will see us return to some form of normality, but I think for us air travel to visit our families will still be a long way off.

Back to the challenge. The theme for this  is as always ...Anything goes with the option ... no patterned paper.

The DT have some lovely projects for inspiration and please pop over and see what all they have to show. I hope you will join in this challenge and there is even a small prize up for grabs.

I went with a very CAS card,

2 layers of card, embossing the top layer and giving it a light sanding to bring out the green.

The sentiment is diecut and I added gems for the dots on the i.   Finishing with a ribbon bow.

Entering this in the following challenges:

Lemon Shortbread # 145 ...Anything goes

Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends #157 ...Anything goes

I am a little late with posting this, but had some technical issues.

Thank you for stopping by and I love any comments you might leave..    Take care and see you soon..

Lots of pretty flowers

 Hello friends,

I do hope everyone is keeping well, whether you are still under lockdown conditions or able to get around freely. The main thing is to keep safe and healthy with masks, sanitisers and keeping our distances...looking our for others as well as ourselves.

This month the challenge at Let's Craft and Create has the option of adding flowers. As it is Spring in the northern parts of the world that should be no problem, but even here in South Africa and other southern hemisphere countries,  as it is now autumn there are still lovely flowers to be found....so my card this month has a basketful of flowers to show.

I have used paper from my stash matted onto green cardstock.
The basket is a Marianne Design diecut with ribbon threaded through the slats.
The flowers and leaves are all punched or diecut with pearls added in the centres.
Happy birthday is also a die cut.

I will enter this into a few challenges.

Red, Pink , White

 Hello friends.

We are well into our second month of 2021 and I am not sure that much has changed . I do hope that you are all safe and well and I do know that some have lost friends and loved ones and I do feel for you. Let's hope that with the vaccines arriving it is going to help us, but in the mean time we have to do everything possible to keep ourselves and our families safe....wear masks, wash hands/sanitize and keep our distance.

The new challenge this month at Let's Craft and Create is Anything goes, as usual, but an option of Red, Pink and/or white. A lovely theme for this month of February. The DT have made such amazing projects for your inspiration so I do hope you will pop in and admire their work. You do of course have a whole month to show us your work and there is also a small prize up for grabs....so do come along and have a play.

The theme of red, pink and white in this month, certainly made me think of hearts...so I have a pocketful of them to show you.

I used a lot of paper from my stash....layered and cut out.

The white card was embossed.

The pocket I stamped onto a floral paper and cut out and a button added.

The hearts are various dies cut out and raised with 3D pads.

The sentiment was printed on my computer.

I will enter this into some  challenges

Cheers to you !!!

 Hi Friends,

A New Year and a new challenge. I hope everyone had a good Christmas/Holiday season,  however you were able to celebrate ..with family/friends or just by yourselves.  We were fortunate to see our local family on different days and spent Christmas day with just my SIL and her husband....very quiet and relaxed.  We are now back to more strict lockdown as many of you are in your own countries and all we can do is to keep safe and healthy by keeping to all the safety protocols. Fortunately,  speaking for myself I have lots to occupy my time so it isn't too much of a problem...just miss my family especially those overseas, as I can't see any travel for a long time.

This month the new challenge at Let's Craft and Create is as usual..Anything goes with an optional theme ...Cheers.  I decided to make a tag for a wine bottle suitable for our current situation,

I cut the cardstock to the required size and punched a hole in the top.

The patterned paper is from my stash (need to use up a lot more this year)

The wine glass is a Marianne Designs die, coloured with distress ink.

The sentiment was computer generated.

Santa Claus is coming to town

 Hello friends,

Wow! we are in the last month of this crazy year and it is time for our challenge at Let's Craft and Create. Of course being December...Santa Claus is coming to town, which is the theme of the challenge, but as always it is anything goes, with the option of the theme. If you hop over to the blogpost you will see some awesome projects from the team, and you have the whole month to enter, with a small prize up for grabs as well...so do come and join in the fun.

I have not made many cards for Christmas this year, as our postal service is not too efficient at the moment, but I do need gift tags, so that is what I have to show...

The image I used is from a set I have hade for many years..Do Crafts, Papermania.

I coloured these with Distress inkpads and added glitter and some texture paste for the bears. I haven't been colouring for many months, but quite pleased with this attempt.

I cut them out with my Cuttlebug using large dies.

Will have to make a few more in the next few weeks.

Entering the following challenges:

Colour Crazy challenge #48 ...Anything goes

Creative Fingers  #198 ... Anything goes

Winter Wonderland ...Anything Christmas goes

The Corrosive challenge #11 ...Anything goes

I thank you for visiting my blog, and I do wish you all a very safe and healthy festive season. Take care to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe.

Love, Ursula

New challenge at Let's Craft and Create

 Hello friends,

This month the challenge at Let's Craft and Create calls for us to use a sketch to create our project....sometimes I find it makes it easier, other times I battle a bit with a sketch, but this time it was quite a simple process. I am keeping my cards simple and easy at the moment...no colouring of images.

The sketch I used was from the Wednesday challenge at The Outlawz.

I used papers from my stash for the background and for the top layer. Using a Nellie Snellen die I cut the edge of the top layer and stamped with a Joy Crafts clear stamp, inking it with Distress inks.

Ribbon and pearls to finish it off.

The sentiment is a peel off...

The DT have all made some lovely cards so I do hope you will pop over and feast your eyes, and hopefully join us.  Remember the challenge is for the whole month, so lots of time to come and play.

I will enter a few challenges later.

Thanks for coming to visit and hope to see you soon,

Love  Ursula

Use paper strips instead of ribbon

 Hello crafting friends,

I hope you are all doing well wherever in the world you are....in some countries things are going better and in others there are more restrictions. I do hope everyone keeps to the required guidelines and we can maybe keep this virus under control....please stay safe and healthy.

It is time for a new monthly challenge at Let's Craft and Create. The theme as always is anything goes, but with an option to use paper strips in place of ribbon....quite a fun thing to do. The ladies of the team have made such gorgeous projects for inspiration and I do hope you will pop over and admire their work. You have a whole month to take part, so let's see what you have to show.

I have kept my card simple, as these are the cards that I have a use for, In our retirement village I am often asked for these kind of cards. I decided last year not to buy any new papers and now also to use my older dies and stamps.

For this card I used Distress inkpads  with a Crafty Individuals stamp,

A green paper backing and a paper strip from a piece of card and 3 brads to finish it off.

The sentiment is a peel-off.

Here in South Africa our weather is warming up nicely and with Spring we are spending a lot more time in our garden, especially getting the veggies growing. I hope you are all enjoying your weather and that there are not any extreme conditions for you. Take care and stay. Thanks for visiting.
