Through a window at Let's Craft and Create

Happy Sunday morning all,

At this time, everywhere in the world we are all fighting a common enemy...the Corona virus... and I am sure that all our thoughts are with those that have been directly affected by this dreadful virus, either contracting it or having a loved one die as a result of it. We are also as one thinking of all the people across the world in the front line, keeping us all safe and supplied with our needs. We pray for all these people for strength to carry on through difficult times.

I think the theme for the challenge at Let's Craft and Create this month.. Through a window..is just right for the moment. Let us look through the window to a bright tomorrow, having learnt from the past, where we care more for our family and friends, supporting those who need help and assistance and just enjoy some of the simple things in life that money can't buy.
The ladies of the DT have made some lovely cards for inspiration, so please go over and see what they have to share. There is a lovely prize again this month.

Back to the challenge. I have a simple card again, using my stash products.

The patterned paper is from Country Companions...lots of love and hugs. I still have a few sheets of this paper that I love....have had it for at least 8 years now. I matted this onto a pink cardstock.

My window is a Marianne Designs die, also from a good number of years ago. I cut it out of a piece of Core'dinations whitewash card. It has been sanded to bring out the colour on the embossed areas.

The sentiment was stamped onto the designer paper.

Hello everyone from an autumnal South Africa,
Yes the weather is changing, still some hot days but a definite autumn feel in the air which is so welcoming after the very hot weather we have had,

The new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create  is as always anything goes, with an option this month of Easter.

For my card I have again used paper from my stash.

The diecuts I used are from Lea'bilities both for the card and the tags.

I cut the flower die and then brushed over with distress inks.  Added some liquid pearls.

The sentiment is coumuter generated.

Attached the tag with a bunny.

Will be entering it in some challenges, shortly.

Thanks so much for visiting,,,,,take care and stay healthy,

Let's Craft and Create..new challenge

Hello everyone,

The theme for the new challenge at Let's Craft and Create is Mother's Day, but it also includes birthdays, just because, so there is quite a range of occasions to choose from.

I have a birthday card as those are what I have most need for at the moment. A simple design, using paper from my stash,

The sentiment is a very old one from DS4J, who are no longer in busines, printed onto a die cut using Nellie Snellen  dies.

Ribbon and pearls to finish.

I will enter it in  some challenges, but only next. week, as I am leaving for a short break in a few hours.

Thank you for visiting and will see you again soon. Take care.
Love,  Ursula

Love is in the air

Hello everyone,

Let me start off by wishing you all a wonderful 2020 and as we have been celebrating this New Year, let us turn our thoughts to our fellow crafters in Australia who are undergoing devastating times with the fires. Our thoughts and prayers are with  all the Australian people.

This month the new challenge at Let's Craft and Create  has an optional theme of Love is in the air. so make any card be it Valentine, wedding, engagement or just love. You have a whole month to take part and the DT have made some lovely projects for inspiration.

Last year I decided to use my stash and not buy anything new, except glue or such items...I don't see much of a dent, so this year will be much of the same.

For my card I used  KaiserCrafts..true romance paper matted onto co-ordinations cardstock. The frame was cut from the same cardstock and sanded slightly to show the underlying colour.

The frame is a Leabilities die.

The letters are taken from the same KaiseCraft range.

Finished it off with some pearls.

I am entering the following challenges.
A Gem of a Craft challenge ...week 1...anything goes
Challenge up your Life  #119...Anything goes
Brown sugar challenge #297...Anything goes
Crafting with an Attitude #58...Anything goes

Once again I wish you many happy hours of crafting and all things good for this year. Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

Love Ursula

Let it snow

Good morning everyone,

After a heatwave of over 10 days we are having lovely cool rainy weather...what bliss and with the cooler weather, the temperature dropped overnight from 34deg. C to 17deg.C, the theme for this month's challenge...winter/let it snow.. at  Let's Craft and Create  ....  just seems a little more bearable, even though winter and snow is only in our dreams at the moment.

The DT have made such gorgeous cards for inspiration, so I do hope you will pop over and leave them some love. It is the perfect time to get those cards done for the festive season if you haven't yet done so,

My card is quite a simple one, saw a similar design on the internet somewhere and again using my stash.

The paper is the last piece I have over of this design.....

I made snowflakes from an old Cuttlebug die. and added glitter and a little bling.

The Christmas tree is cut from a piece of Christmas paper with  Marianne Designs die.

A peeloff provided the sentiment.

Entering the following challenges:

Crafting by Designs....Anything goes
Crafty Creations  #403 ...Anything goes
The Sisterfood of Crafters ...Trees
The Paper Funday #12... Christmas holiday
Craftyhazelnut's challenge ...Patterned paper

Thanks for coming by and I hope to be back soon

Something very different

Hello friends,
This time I am not posting anything papercraft related. I have in the past, very rarely posted about my other hobbies. Crochet has been the main one the last few years, in fact since moving to our lovely retirement village. I have and am still enjoying this very much, doing lots of projects for 2 local charity groups

Now it is time to try something very new...I have started making bobbin lace.
I had my first lesson about 4 weeks ago and have just finished my first project.

I am certainly enjoying this relaxing hobby, hope it will stay relaxing, but am very keen to learn lots more.

I will be back tomorrow, with a card this time......

Giving thanks...a new challenge

Good morning everyone,

Here in my part  of the world we are experiencing very hot weather with very little rain, but I think there is still something to be thankful for, as we received lovely rains on Saturday and that certainly helps the garden.

The new challenge this month at Let's Craft and Create  has an optional theme..Thank you.
The ladies of the DT have made incredible cards for inspiration, so do pop over and see what they have made.

For my card I once again looked through my stash of papers and found a lovely floral piece, which I matted onto  green card.

I used Nellie Snellen dies for the centre piece, added a die cut sentiment,  and also the circles cut into half, then added ribbon.

I used 2 crochet flowers which I made quite a few years ago and added pearls to finish off.

I will be back to enter some challenges later.

Thank you for visiting and will be back soon.

Love, Ursula
