Tuesday is Colour challenge day.

Good morning friends,
Here we are in the middle of July already, and another Tuesday has arrived. That means there is a new colour challenge at The Outlawz.


This week Penny chose the inspirational photo, colour palette and twist, to create your own background,   for the wonderful cards made by the DT.  Come and have a look at their cards, and then we would really love you to join us in this challenge.

Isn't it amazing how sometimes you can have a plan in your head and none of that will work when you start making the card, and not anything that you haven't done before, but somehow it just doesn't come together.....well this was one of those, so after a few attempts I just went with this one

Paper - green cardstock, matted with my background, which was coloured with Pan Pastels and then with a stencil and gold pan pastel created the stars, which don't show up too well. I then added a few peel-off stars.
Image was coloured with Distress inkpads, added glitter on the wings and a light pearly layer on the clothes, but this doesn't show up on the photo.

Hiding in the Christmas tree

Good morning friends,
With all this TV watching of football and cycling I have been getting some colouring in done, so at least this month I won't be sneaking in with my card for the Christmas challenge
at Digistamps4Joy. This is a progressive challenge and if you haven't joined you can contact Desire and she will forward you this cute image ..Irresistible Bling, and if you make your card for the challenge, you will get the new one next month. A great way to get a head start on your holiday cards.
Here is what I came up with.

 



Paper - Winter Papers from My Mind Eye. Got this as a freebie in a magazine years ago and still have a few pages left. Embossed the red with a snowflake folder.

Image - Irrisistible bling coloured with Distress inkpads and Winkling H20's, with glitter and Pontura pearl dots added. Also added some glitter to the trees on the paper, but it doesn't show up too well

Sentiment - Nellie Snellen stamp and punched out with a NS ribbon punch.

For my card I followed the sketch this week from Sunday Sketch & Stamp
Well I can add that to my Christmas collection and hopefully I will still get another one done this month.

As the World Cup finishes this weekend, with sadly The Netherlands out of it now, my TV viewing will also diminish, but still lots of beautiful scenic cycling to look at. Hopefully can get lots more colouring done.

Another special colour challenge

Good morning friends,
Winter here in my area hasn't been tooo bad so far, but we are having a good bout of it at the moment. It is freezing and today will be only 12 deg. and last night was -1, when we have been having 18 to 21 deg the last while....Oh well..we are heading the right way...towards summer. Just have to be patient.

On to the business of the day...the colour challenge
at The Outlawz. This week Lindsay chose the inspirational photo for the challenge which is a special one again. You get to choose 2 of the colours from the photo together with the given colour ...tomato red, and you also decide on the twist....this is a lot of fun.

This is my card and what I used. My choice of colours, Tomato Red, med green and black. Twist is a fancy fold card.

 

The card is a centre-step easel that I saw on the internet, but seemed to have lost the link. Will try and find it later.

 

Paper - Red and black cardstock. DP is from a paper bloc - Vintage 1, by Pickup.  

Image - Silhouette - Butterfly flowers from Bugaboo and you can find it HERE.

I cut it out and mounted onto a Nellie Snellen diecut. 

For the flourishes and corner I used Lea'Bilities from Leane Creativ. 

Sentiment if from Whiff of Joy.

Added a few pearls.

Freebie Friday at DS4J

Good morning friends,
At least I am back to knowing what day it is today and can you believe..it is the first Friday of July, and that means  FREEBIE FRIDAY at Digistamps4Joy

Mid challenge #95...DS4J...Shaped card

Happy whatever day it is,
Sorry I seem to have got lost in this week and have just realised it is Wednesday and my challenge card should already be on here.

Well here it is now. Challenge #95 at Digistamps4Joyis hosted by Margaret and she has asked us to make a shaped card. I decided on this triangle card as someone asked me to make a wedding card, but not just a ordinary one...and the colours black and gold. I did this and she was very happy with it..





Paper - Black cardstock, gold mirror
board and DP is Forever Friends.

Image  - First Dance and you can get it
HERE, printed and cut out with oval die and mounted on a scalloped diecut.

Finished off with a bow.

The tag that slides in was also made with the same papers and a computer generated sentiment cut with a label die of Joycrafts, finished off with ribbon and pearls.

The inside, is also finished off with the same range of papers and a sentiment printed and cut out with dies and pearls.

A shaped card

Happy Wednesday friends,
I am back again with another DT card for you. This time we have been asked to make a shaped card for  challenge #94 at Let's Craft and Create

The DT have made some super shaped cards and we would love you to join us. Any shape, not square or rectangle will be lovely to see.

This is what I made:

 

RECIPE

Cut the card with an X-cut die, inked the edges with Vintage Photo.

Cut a smaller die in burgundy and inked with Walnut Stain.

The music notes cut and embossed with a Joycraft die, inked in black while still in the die and then with vintage photo.

Stamped sentiment onto the base of the music

Live, love, laugh ...colour challenge

Good morning friends,
1 July, I can hardly believe it, but yes we are halfway through this year. Well it is Tuesday again and that means another  colour challenge  at The Outlawz.



This week Laurian has chosen the beautiful inspirational photo with colour palette and the easy twist to add pearls.








We are so lucky to have Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor for this month, and the DT have mostly used one of their images, so please hop on over and have a look at the lovely cards. We would really love you to come and join in the fun.

For my card I have used the image 'Live, Love, Laugh" and this is my card.

Paper - Plain cardstock in the colours required, punched the corners.  Embossed a piece of white card with a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and then coloured it with Pan Pastels with the stencil still in place.
Image - I coloured with Distress Inkpads, and added pearls.
Added ribbon  with a bow.

I do love the simplicity of the card and I have had a number of people requesting cards without too much on, as they are concerned about posting. This size is also quite popular as opposed to the larger square cards.
