A Birthday card

Good morning all. A lovely sunny morning here.... hope it stays that way..... had NO rain yesterday....
I have a number of birthday card to make for family and friends this month.... so here is one of them......not telling who it is for.
I am also entering this one into 2 challenges, both digital and both requiring buttons.
Digital Challenges - anything goes
Digistamps4joy - Buttons

Here is what I did:

Paper - white cardstock, matted DP printed from Funky Hand CD, Bazzil cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

Image - Freebie from Digistamps4joy, printed onto watercolour paper and coloured with distress inkpads

Embellishments. Ribbon from stash, also buttons and flowers. For the sentiment I printed happy birthday and cut out a button with Crealies die. covered it with glossy accents to add to the buttons. Finished off with lots of bling round the frame, as this young lady loves BLING.

Inside - repeated the paper, ribbon and bling, added a Nestie cutout for the message.

I hope she will love it, let me know what you think.
Have a super day, keep warm if it is cold and snowy where you are.

Bottle of birthday wishes

Good evening all, Had planned to do this earlier, but time just ran away. The card today I amentering in two challenges:
Papertake Weekly-Anything goes with an option of using lace.
Let's ink it up - Anything goes

Paper: White card, matted a deep pink and the DP was a free download from Jak Heath. She offers amazing free papers every couple of months. You will find them here.

Image is from Clear Art Stamps "Message in a bottle" Stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with Aquarelle pencils and Twinkling H20's. The bottle stopper I covered with glossy accents. Cut it out with a one of the new Nestie labels set.

Added some lace as Papertake Weekly asked for it. The flower was punched with Nellie Snellen floral punches and finished of with a brad and spacer. The flourish is from Crealies.A hat pin and pearls finished it off.
I stamped the Birthday greeting on the inside. This will be making its way over the waters for a friend overseas.
Hope you like it and thanks for those that visit and leave me some comments. I do appreciate it. Have a great week. Warm wishes.

FUNDRAISER FOR KATIE

I was touched to read the story of Katie, who found out just before Christmas that she had stage 4 stomach cancer. You can pop over to Katies blog to read her story and give her some encouragement. The fantastic Jak Heath had asked us all to remember her and the family in our prayers, but she has now gone one step further and together with various other paper crafters, designers and stampers have come together to organise some fundraising for Katie and her family. Please go to Jak's blog and read all about it. I think it is just so wonderful that all these people, who possibly do not even know one another, can come together and help a fellow crafter. I am so Blessed to be a member of this amazing group of crafters. Warm wishes.

Apples and mice.......

Happy Sunday to everyone... Yes I know it is almost the end of the weekend, but what the heck it is only the second week of the year. Here in SA we are having a rainy cool day.... I usually love it, but we have had so many rainy cool days and our summer is going by very quickly. At least I have been able to make a few cards. Here is one of them.
I am entering this one in the Karen's doodles challenge No.44 following the sketch given.

Paper - Red card, matted white and DP from Marieke Vermeulen designs that I printed.
Image from Karen's doodles coloured with Distress inkpads, cut with a Nestability and mounted onto a red cutout.

Borders were cut in red and green with a die from Crealies.
Sentiment was computer generated and cut with a scolloped Nestie.
Finished off with an apple brad.
On the inside I used the same DP paper that had an apple in the corner and a white cutout for the message.

Hope you all have a wonderful week. Will be back soon. Warm wishes.

1st blogging birthday.

Good morning everyone, The middle of the first week..... and my first anniversary of blogging. When I think back.... how nervous I was of starting. My card today is a "Thank you" card. It is to say thank you to each and everyone who visits my blog, who helped me get started,(I had lots of questions in the beginning... and still have sometimes) inspired me and left any comments. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is what I used .. all in blues.
Paper: Bazzil card blue, folded into a Z-fold. Matted off-white card and then DP from Making Memories.
For the front I used a Marianne creatables die to cut a silhouette from the blue Bazzil and matted the negative onto the DP.
On the inside... cut a piece of off-white and distressed the edges with chalks, left it plain for a message.
The next section I cut a scolloped circle with a Nestie die in blue and then cut an off white shape with Marianne creatables. Onto that I mounted the blue cut out silhouette.
Finished off with flowers punched out of the DP and a small rose, with some flourishes of Crealies.
The sentiment on the front is from a local company.
Hope everyone is managing with this first full work week. Warm wishes.

2011 Calendar

At the end of last year I was invited to take part in a calendar swap. 12 ladies each made a page for the calendar. At the beginning of each month I will show the page for the month.... so then this is the lovely page made by Zelda that I will see at my desk for January. Zelda printed the calendar onto acetate, and (unfortunately on the photo) it does not show up the calendar very well as the handmade paper design underneath comes out through the acetate.
Warm wishes for a wonderful day. We are still having a lot of rain, but mainly at night, so that is not too bad.

Still Christmas season

Happy Monday morning everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful New Year celebration and that everyone is ready and inspired for the new year. I didn't think that my first card for the year would be a Christmas card, but here we are..... I still have a couple of stamped images, so found these challenges that I could enter.

Karen's Doodles challenge calls for a "celebration" card.

Reasonable Ribbons challenge requires you to use something new - Nestie labels 13 and red Christmas brads

Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge requires a Christmas card - anything goes -

I used the following:
Paper: White cardstock, matted a green card which I ran through the cuttlebug with a Christmas folder and distressed it a little.
Image: is a freebie digital from Karen's doodles. I cut it out with my NEW Nestie labels 13 dies. Coloured with distress inkpads. I put some puff paint on the hat and brushed some stickles on. Used glitter on the present and the bow.
I also added a piece of red and green ribbon for the Reasonable Ribbon challenge.
Sentiment was stamped on a label and attached with 2 red Christmas brads that I received in an Advent swap that I took part in.

The Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge runs throughout the year, so by taking part at least you will have a stash of cards for Christmas.... now that's a good idea.
That's it from me, hope to be back shortly with another card.
If you are back at work have a great week, and if still on holiday enjoy the fun.
