Happy 80th Birthday

Happy Friday morning all,
Yes almost weekend and it promises to be a lovely one here in this part of South Africa. We can feel spring edging closer, and I just want to get into the garden...but have learnt from past experience, winter is not going to just let go...so will wait another week or two. Anyhow I have a special card today. One of our very best, old friend...as in long time... turns 80 today... and this is the card I have made for him. He is Irish..but won't hold that against him..LOL hence the greeting on the front.

This is what I used on my gate fold card:

Paper.. Bazzill cardstock, DP from Papermania..Hampstead collection
Image... Digi from Anne Fenton coloured with a combination of Aquarelles, Tombows and Twinkling H20s
Sentiments... Computer generated
Finished off with a few small buttons, a button 4 leaf clover, also a punched one and the 80 cut with my cuttlebug.
I made a band just to hold it together, and the sentiment on that is in Gaelic, means Happy Birthday, finished off with a button 4 leaf clover.
I hope he will like it.

I will enter it in the following challenges:
Craft your days away... Birthday
Anything goes ... Happy Birthday/Celebrate
Tuesday Throwdown ...Birthday
Top Tip Tuesday ...Straight edges
Cards for Men ... CAS
Hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend and whatever you may be doing...have fun.

A Birthday card

Good morning all. A lovely sunny morning here.... hope it stays that way..... had NO rain yesterday....
I have a number of birthday card to make for family and friends this month.... so here is one of them......not telling who it is for.
I am also entering this one into 2 challenges, both digital and both requiring buttons.
Digital Challenges - anything goes
Digistamps4joy - Buttons

Here is what I did:

Paper - white cardstock, matted DP printed from Funky Hand CD, Bazzil cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

Image - Freebie from Digistamps4joy, printed onto watercolour paper and coloured with distress inkpads

Embellishments. Ribbon from stash, also buttons and flowers. For the sentiment I printed happy birthday and cut out a button with Crealies die. covered it with glossy accents to add to the buttons. Finished off with lots of bling round the frame, as this young lady loves BLING.

Inside - repeated the paper, ribbon and bling, added a Nestie cutout for the message.

I hope she will love it, let me know what you think.
Have a super day, keep warm if it is cold and snowy where you are.

Happy Birthday Joshua

Hi friends, Yippee!!! it is Friday.... Weekend. What a busy week and hardly any crafting. Hope to rectify that tomorrrow. Maybe put all the housework on hold... we will see.
I did make a card for my grandson's birthday on Sunday. He doesn't look at my blog so it is safe to show it. Joshua lives in the Netherlands and does enjoy doing some fishing with Dad, or maybe when Grandpa visits, so this is what I made for him.

Paper: cream card, Dp was some I had left, so don't know whose it is and also used some green matching cardstock.

Image: Again I am afraid I do not know who to give credit to. It is a digital image that I got when I first started about 2 years ago. I can't make out the name so if anyone knows I would appreciate hearing from you. I just love this little guy sitting with his rod, and can just imagine Joshua doing that. Coloured it with distress inkpads, and cut with a nestability, mounted on blue cardstock also cut with a Nestie.

Sentiment: I made a tag with a big fish for the Happy birthday wish, which was computer generated. I attached the tag with a homemade fishing hook and some fishline.
Finished it off with a few buttons.
I hope Joshua enjoys his birthday on Sunday with all his friends.
Have a great weekend everyone. We are promised some rain on Sunday, hope it arrives.
