Last colour challenge for 2014

Hello my friends,
Tuesday morning.. colour challenge at The Outlawz and only one more day of 2014 left. So not much time to do the things that need to be done this year...but I am sure much of it can be carried over for the next year.

I say goodbye to this year with mixed feelings...there were some highs..our lovely holiday in NZ, our Netherlands family visiting and spending time with the family,  moving to our lovely new home after 49 years, and then some really big lows..the sudden death of my BIL while in NZ, the packing up of our home, and various other issues.... but life is about moving on and we welcome this brand spanking new year and look forward to filling the pages with lots of interesting events.

Onto this week's challenge at The Outlawz. This is my card.

I decided on no image to colour this week, but to play with my new Marianne design teddy die.
I also used a MD die for the frame, which I cut with textured cardstock and then sanded the embossing slightly to reveal the second colour.

A ribbon bow

Sentiment is computer generated, cut with a label die and attached to the ribbon with brads.

I used the diagonal row, top right to bottom left and the twist is to use diecuts.

I almost forgot to tell you what the challenge is:                       Play tic-tac-toe. Use any of the rows and if a word falls in that row, then use that for your twist.

I do hope you will come and join in the fun for this last challenge of the year.
The DT have made some gorgeous cards for inspiration.

I am entering some challenges:
Card Mania challenge #63...Anything goes
Craft-Dee Bowz...Anything goes
Eureka Stamps challenge #121...Something old..something new (old is the textured cardstock..new my teddie die)
My Creative Moments #2...New somethings...my new teddiebear dies.
Robyn's Fetish challenge #244...Anything goes
That Craft Place...Anything goes

That's it from me for this year. I wish you all the best for a wonderful 2015. May it be filled with everything that is good.

Take care, have fun and see you next year.

Some quilling today

Happy Sunday friends,
Well the last Sunday of the year has dawned with cloudy, misty weather...not the sunny weekend we all wish for. I don't really mind as I do enjoy this weather as well.

I haven't done any quilling for a bout 2 years now, but got out my tools and papers after attending a refresher class a couple of weeks ago. I have always enjoyed the various ways of working with paper. I decided to make some tags to go onto gifts this year. One of my nieces has always loved penguins and when I saw a quilled penguin, I just new this had her name on it. I made the snowflakes with the papers that I had and just love the way they came out.

I will see if there are any challenges to enter these.

Hello to you all on this Christmas eve morning,
I do hope that you all get to enjoy the Peace and Love of this special time. If you are with family and friends have a wonderful time, if you are alone, please remember that you are not really alone. There is always someone who thinks of you.

Now onto the challenge for this week...in fact 3 weeks. We here at Digistamps4Joy will be taking a break and will only be back with our next challenge on 14 January 2015. When all the hustle and bustle is over you might find some quiet time to do some crafting, so there is enough time to enter.

If you use a DS4J image on your project, you will stand a chance for the main prize. If not, that is OK you could still win a digi or two.....look forward to seeing lots of entries for this last challenge of the year.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning all,
Well here we are, 2 days to go till Christmas and I hope you are all on track with your preparations. If you have some spare time this week, we have a lovely colour challenge at The Outlawz and would just love you to join us.

Lindsay chose this weeks theme and inspirational photo. Use the colour shown, plus 2 more colours taken from the photo. You also get to choose the twist and tell us the colours and twist you are using.

These are such festive colours and the DT have made beautiful cards for inspiration, so why not hop on over and see what they have to show.

This is my take on the challenge:

I have used colours, midnight blue, lavender and gold, and for my twist I have added glitter.

The lavender frame was cut with a Marianne Design die.

Image is 'Masked Lady' from DS4J and you can find it HERE. I coloured it with Twinkling H20's and added glitter.

Going to a ball is enough reason to celebrate, hence the sentiment.

Finished off with glitter ribbon and pearls

I will enter it in some challenges:
Eureka Stamps #120...use glitter
Imagination Crafts...Anything goes
The Crazy challenge #187...Everything goes

I would like to wish you all a Blessed Christmas. Take some time to enjoy it with family and friends.
Will be back tomorrow, until then take care.

Hello friends,
Yes the title says it all. I have made some crackers this week, for some small gifts that some of my family will be getting.

DS4J is sponsoring the challenge at Not Just Cards this week and I have been asked to be GD, with the theme...anything but a card, so this is the cracker that I made for this challenge.

The paper I used is from a year or two ago and unfortunately the name has been cut off.

The image is called Christmas wreath with bow and you can get it HERE
Christmas wreath with bowI coloured it with Twinkling H20's, made the berries with Pontura pearl makers. Printed the bow a second time and used silicone to make it 3D. Added a pearl.

I used a fancy die of Noor Design, cut with green and sponged with gold Pan Pastel
Finished off with brown and gold ribbon.

The template I used for the cracker is a freebie from Netty's Cards. She has a lot of other freebies, so pay a visit to her blog.

Lovely bells and other images at DS4J

Happy Sunday morning friends.

I do hope everyone is having a relaxing day before the rush of last minute details for Christmas. It is such a gorgeous summer's day here that I am enjoying the beautiful weather, sitting on my patio and relaxing......doing some colouring and cutting and......., but still relaxing.

Today there are a number of gorgeous images at Digistamps4Joy and the one I have used is called 'Bells are ringing'

If you need inspiration have a look at the cards made by our talented DT. You will find them HERE I was too late to put mine there, so am just showing it here.

I decided to make a tag for an anniversary, as I will be needing a few of these shortly.
I cut my tag with a Marianne Design Creatable LR0335, then cut a backing in a darker shade.
The image I coloured with Pan Pastels for a change, adding 3D dots with Pontura and some bling for the flower centres.
A pearl brad to finish it off.

Christmas card with a window

Happy Friday morning friends.
It is a coolish rainy day here in my neck of the woods. We have really had some heavy rains over the past few days, with some sunshine, but heavy downpours and small hail that managed to knock all the flowers of my newly planted rosebushes and small annuals. At least the buds on the roses are in tact and hopefully in a week or so they will show off their lovely blooms. We were told that we were going into another 'El Nino' phase, but we have had a heck of a lot of rain the last month, so maybe El Nini is going to come later...I hope not.

Anyway on to my card...another Christmas card. This is the second card from the class last week and the ladies made such gorgeous ones, all using the same products.

It is a centre step card with a window cut into the centre. I saw a card that was made by Sylvia recently, but couldn't find the link to it.

This is what I used:

Paper - red mirror board and patterned paper from Michele R Designs

Marianne Design dies - Door, candles and star banner.

Nellie Snellen - Holly branch
Printed picture - Nellie Snellen

Finished it off with glitter and Pontura pearl maker for the berries.

This is a side view, to show how the cutout window slips into the back of the card.
I will enter  this in some challenges:
The Crafter's Café challenge #94...Christmas/Holiday season                                                                             Crafty Creations challenge #278...Something to die for    Creative Moments challenge #57...Anything goes/winter Inspiration Destination #11...Anything goes
Cuttin and Stampin challenge #3...Christmas
Cuttlebug Mania challenge...Anything Christmas
Holly Jolly Christmas challenge Anything Christmas
Decosse's Dybanite Doodles..Christmas card linkup

I hope you all have a great day and with the weekend upon us....a wonderful weekend and stay warm where the cold weather has arrived.
Take care and see you soon.

Colour challenge...no twist at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
I am so pleased to get this post up as we have been having power cuts everyday since Friday, lasting 4 to 5 hours and it plays havoc with planning and everything.

This week we have another great colour challenge at The Outlawz. Ina has chosen this palette and there is no twist, so I am sure you will all enjoy this one. The DT have again made really super cards, so we would love you to come and visit for some inspiration.

The prize this month is a gift card for $15, so I do hope you will come and join in the fun.

This is my card, but I did actually deviate slightly and added a little bit of green....naughty, naughty!

I used a stencil of Dutch Doobadoo and my Pan Pastels to create this.
Added pearls, Pontura dots for the centre of the flower and a peel-off sentiment.
This was a quicky, and I needed this as time was running out.

Using the colours of the rainbow

Good morning bloggers,
We have had a fair bit of rain the last few weeks, and I have seen some lovely rainbows up in the sky, but none as bright as the palette for today's colour challenge at The Outlawz.

This is Laurian's choice for the challenge this week.
Use 3 colours and there is no twist, so it couldn't be easier, just tell us which colours you have chosen.

There is no official sponsor this month, but Laurian is offering a $15 gift card, so that is certainly something worth entering for.

The DT have again made lovely cards, so do pop in for some inspiration.

Here is what I came up with, using the colours yellow, blue and green

Paper  from an old paper block with no name on it.
Image - Number1 Dude from Digistamps4Joy and you can find it HERE Coloured with Distress inkpads.
Sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession, cut in blue and white. I used a brad for the dot on the I.
