Today we have the actual birthday of my MIL, which I posted about yesterday. 99 years and still going strong. Had a lovely morning tea at the Care home, with a few family and friends. Lots of telephone calls from all over the world. Yesterday was a family celebration and a wonderful day with even the weather being lovely and warm
Thanks you to so many of my blogging friends from all over the world who sent her good wishes. She just couldn't understand that so many people new about her and were interested in her and she doesn't even know them, but thanked everyone for their messages.
Now for today's card. Talk about sneaking in the back door. This Joy fold card was made for the Tuesday colour challenge at The Outlawz calling for colours of orange, oatmeal and green with a gold embelishment.

Card for a milestone birthday
until 7 months ago, still lived in her own little cottage, doing her cooking and baking herself.
She started suffering from the early stages of dimentia and at times got very confused, so we decided she needed some care, and she moved to a care home, which she shares with 6 other ladies, and whom she still entertains almost on a daily basis with her piano playing.
We had her piano moved there and that is her absolute passion, playing classical pieces. She has a bit of a problem with her eyes, but can still see to read the music. So we will be gathering as a family tomorrow to celebrate and wish her well.
This is the card I made for her.
Paper: pink and purple Bazzil cardstock. I cut out corner and mounted a bird. The bird was cut from a Spellbinders nested set using the middle siz and the smaller size for the wing. I put both through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots and paisley folders. A small pink rhinestone for the eye
The design was made using "Hobby Dots" which are like peeloffs. Got these from the Netherlands.
The 99 was cut with a cuttlebug alphabet and added some stickles to this.
Flower was cut with a Crealies flower die in pink and edged with distress inkpad and a pearl added to the centre.
I think I will enter this into a few challenges.
Outlawz.. Monday greeting... in my garden.. I have birds there
Simon Says....Anything goes
Paper play challenge... Things with wings.....birds
Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

More from Card Camp week 3
Good afternoon friends. It is happy Friday, and the end of week 3 at Card Camp. I have enjoyed it thus far, but as I have said before, a bit challenging to use the appropriate colours, but I am managing.
My card today is also being entered in the following challenges:
Outlawz Wednesday sketch challenge
Creative Craft Challenge Pretty Blossoms
This is what I have used.
Paper: All cardstock for matting in the selected colours. Rounded the corners of the top layer. I cut a piece with a cuttlebug folder for the strip at the top and side.
Cut out flowers in 2 colours with Crealies flower dies spritzed them with some glimmer mist, and fixed a pearl in the centre.
The sentiment is a stamp from a local company, stamped with versafine brown, cut with a nestie and matted onto a larger brown nestie.
3 pearls to finish off.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Might be back with some more cards tomorrow.

Week 3 new colours
Good morning friends,
Today's card is using the colours from week 3 of the Card Camp. I am rather behind, just don't know who is stealing my time...LOL.
This card was made for the Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge. I decided to use the colours from card camp. We were to use only stamps, any kind, rubber, digital, but no DP. A real challenge!!!
Here is what I have done.
Paper: Card is all Bazzil...brown, cream and taupe.
Image: Great Impressions, a local company. Firstly I used a piece of mesh and rubbed over that with a Colour box chalk - Alabaster, all over the brown card for a background. I then stamped the image twice with Versafine Vintage Sepia, and cut out the dragonfly from the second one. Coloured that with fired brick distress pad and brushed some Twinkling H20.. garnet over, just for a bit of glimmer. Mounted that with 3D squares.
Sentiment also stamped with the same inkpad onto a piece of tapue card and trimmed with a fancy edge scissors.

Invitation to tea in the bush
Well another weekend gone and a new week ahead. Hope it will be a good one for you all. Firstly a big welcome to some new friends that have joined my blog. It is always lovely to have more friends join, hope you will see something you like and I love to hear from you.
Today's card is an achievement for me, as it is the first one I have cut with my new Cricut. Still trying to learn all about it, but slowly getting there. This is again an entry for Challenges by AR theme "wild Prints". I won this file for the teacup from Creations by AR and decided to make it into a cup of "bush tea", which in South Africa is a very popular tea...Roobos Tea.
I am also entering it into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge..shaped card.
The DP is from a local company, Paper explosion... Safari collection..leopard trail.
The sentiment was computer generated, and the teabag coloured with tea dye ink.
I also have the file for a teapot, but will use that another time.
Enjoy your week, whatever you may be doing

Ready to travel
It looks like someone is going travelling, but no, not me. I made this card for a friend who is going to travel, and very coincidentally, it fits the new 3D challenge by AR just launched. So go and hve a look at the lovely projects made by the DT. with the theme "Wild prints"
I got the idea from one that I saw some time back on the blog of Jerri A Touch of Grace and you should have a look at her projects.
I also see that Daring Cardmakers are also calling for a suitcase card in their challenge.
The DP is from a local supplier, pieces of red and brown cardstock. Eyelets and brads for decoration and faux stitching to finish it off. It was fun to make and my friend loved it.
Have a great weekend and hope to be back soon.

She came in 2 parts ...the first in her undies with her gift behind her and the second part was her dress with little tabs, so the image could be used as a paper doll....this takes me back many years, when I loved to play with paper dolls.

Summer camp week 2
I must say I am enjoying the camp, but also find it very challenging, especially when it comes to choosing papers. I truly have to scratch around, as I do not want to go and buy any at the moment. Here is the first card of the week, and what I have used for it
Paper: Card was all from my stash and I managed to find a small piece of the green, just enough for backing the message. The DP was a piec with no name, from a local supplier and ws a special at some stage.
Sentiment: Is also from a local supplier, I stamped and embossed in white
Flowers were punched with a Nellie Snellen floral punch, the leaves with a McGill pine punch and finished off with a few pearls.
I guess I now need to go and look through my papers to find what I am going to use for the rest of this week.
Hope you are all enjoying your week, and not long to the weekend. Warm wishes.
Winter morning
Yes it is winter without a doubt. Woke up to a really freezing but clear morning and this is what it looked like when we opened the curtains with the sun just peeping over the hill. Not snow, just frost. Beautiful, but cold, so thought I just needed to share this with anyone getting very hot today.
Will be back later with some cards. Have a great day.

Anniversary card
My card today is for a friend's 10th wedding anniversary and I have used one of the colour combinations from the Summer card camp. blue, green ,pink, cream and purple, but I couldn't find something purple to go with it, so left that off.
I am also entering my card in theAll sorts challenge...free and easy
I am not sure what fold this is, but I do enjoy
making it and here is what I used.
Paper: Cardstock .. cream with a mottled effect and bluecard. DP is from a pad of Art Talent, got it in the Netherlands Pink card for the heart.
Image ... Whiff of Joy, coloured with Distress ink pads and cut out. Mounted on cream card which I put through the cuttlebug.
The heart was cut with a Nellie Snellen MFD abd a used peeloff for the 10. Inside I stamped and emboosed "Happy Anniversary".
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, and if you are not having a holiday tomorrow have a great week.
See you soon!!

Another month, another page
Good morning to you all, Saturday morning, the weekend. Hooray!! Yes we are into the second half of the year with the start of JUlY, so another page from my calendar, with snowmen and snowflakes. We are of course in the middle of our winter, not as cold as some of my northern hemisphere friends might have it, but nevertheless COLD enough. The last few weeks we have had really cold nights, down to about -2deg C to 3 or 4deg and the days even though they are sunny,(we are in a summer rainfall area, so very seldom get rain in the winter) have been between 8deg C to 17 degC. with some icy cold winds blowing from the southern parts of the country where they have had some snow. Here in the highveld around Johannesburg we very rarely get snow, just frosty mornings when it can look very white on the lawns, but never mind in a few weeks we will see the first signs of spring and then it will begin to feel warmer.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and to all my friends in the USA have a wonderful Independance day on the 4th.
Ill be back soon.

Card Camp, another entry
At last the weekend has arrived, another cold one for us. Here is another card made for the first week of card camp. Still using the same colours, but this time working to a sketch, this is what I came up with.
Paper: white cardstock, stamped with pink flourishes. Orange DP, sorry no name,
Embelishments: Using the reverse of the orange DP with a Crealies die, I cut out a
strip and also a circle, for my sentiment. The flowers were punched and embossed with a Nellie Snellen floral punch.
Sentiment: Just Rite stamps.
Pearls to finish
I wish you all a lovely weekend, and for my Canadian friends... Happy Canada Day and to all my friends from the USA a wonderful 4th July. Enjoy your holiday weekends and if travelling be safe.
