Two challenges

Hello everyone from a wet and cold Johannesburg.
This is our first real cold spell of the winter and wet as well. Anyway a good reason for staying tucked up indoors and crafting, so here is what I have been doing.
This card is being entered in 2 challenges.
Whiff of Joy sketch
A spoonful of sugar - Happy birthday
Paper; White cardstock, DP from My Mind's Eye - Pretty please spring paper, and a textured aqua cardstock.
Image is WOJ - Dancing willow (ready for a birthday bash). Coloured with watercolour pencils, and twinkling H2o's. Put some glossy accents on her shoes and bag, and made her necklace from tiny Jade seed beads. Cut out image with a nestibility.
Flowers: Tried my hand at making the flowers from punch outs thanks to Paola coloured with distress inks. Need some more practise with these.
Sentiment from an unknown brand that I have, and used it as it was Debbie"s birthday (from A spoonful of sugar) Hope you had a lovely birthday.
That's it from me and as we are having a holiday on Tuesday, it is almost like a long weekend. So maybe some more cards, if the weather stays like this. Have a good weekend all.

Something different

It has been a very busy week, so not had a chance to do any more challenges. I put a swap into the post today and another 2 to go next week. Will be able to show these when everyone has received their cards.Been out on the road all day today doing deliveriesand visiting clients, so I have been very busy, not doing as much card making as I would like. I did go to a workshop earlier in the week making cards with Lace templates. This was my first attempt and I did enjoy it, so you will see a few more of these from me.
The flowers were punched out and layered. For the rest not much to explain.
Yea almost weekend and a holiday in South Africa next Tuesday, so hopefully I can do a lot of card making. Not great weather forecast for the weekend, cooling down fast so good idea to spend at my crafting table.
Warm wishes and would love to hear from you.

I will have to try and squeeze in another challenge this week, also busy with some swaps, so will see how it goes. Have a great week everyone. Hopefully nobody is needing to fly anywhere soon.

Alphabet ATC's

The stamping group I belong to have had an alphabet ATC swap going for some time, but I only joined in for the first time earlier this year at K,L,M. These are the ATC's that I made for the swap.
K for key,
L for life
M for music.
I enjoy doing them, they go quicker than cards. I am busy on the next three letters, so when I have these done will show them off. Not many challenges happening as business is keeping me from making cards( sob!), but hope to do some this week.
Hope you are all having a great week out there.

The Corrosive challenge

It's the first time I have entered this challenge and only just made it on time. I followed a sketch.

Cardstock white, matted "light groovy grape" cardstock and then matted DP printed from Funky Hand CD.

The image was one I received in a RAK last year, so unfortunately don't know what make stamp it is. Coloured with water colour pencils and Twinkling H2o's For the flower centre I glued on some seed beads. Swiped the edges with a turq. chalk pad. Matted this onto a square scolloped nestability.

I layered this over a strip of the groovy grape cardstock, that I punched using a corner punch, just removed the side strips, I found it a challenge to line it up for a good edge.

Finished off with a sentiment cut out with my cuttlebug. Sorry it does not show up too well on the photo and added three beads.

Hope you like it. I need to make a number of birthday cards this month, so really need to get some challenges done on time.

We are at last having aa lovely warm sunshiny day after all the rain and cloud the past 10 days. Our business is in the ceramic field making bisqueware and the wet weather has us (especially hubby, as he is the manufacturing dept) tearing our hair out as things don't dry. But today he is smiling. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

One card - 3 challenges

I found that I could enter my card in 3 challenges this week. Mo's digital and Colour Create called for pastels and Totally Paper Crafts is going digital.

http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

Here's is how I did it.

All the DP is from Funky Hand's latest CD "Dreams come true. http://www.funkyhand.com/index.php I love how you can print the matching papers yourself.

Cream card onto which I matted DP from Funky Hand. Cut a strip of the striped paper and used my border punch. Matted the image onto another one of the papers cut with my Nestability.

The image is a digital download from Mo's called end of summer, printed onto watercolour paper and cut with a nestability, but I think it can also be beginning of spring (not autumn as we are starting here) Coloured this with my watercolour pencils and twinkling h2o's.
Sentiment is from Whiff of Joy
Flowers are all from my stash.
I enjoyed making this one, hope you like. Please let me know.

Creative Cottage challenge

The challenge is "pretty pink" so this is the card I have made.

Used white cardstock, matted a soft pink card that I put through the cuttlebug with a folder from Crealies. http://www.crealies.nl/ Then cut a frame with the cuttlebug using a new die that I have.
The image is a Hero Arts stamped onto white watercolour paper and coloured with Twinkling H2o's and water colour pencils.
A piece of ribbon knotted completed the picture.

On the inside I used the outer part where the frame was cut from and stamped a sentiment froma local stamping company.

A friendly Hi

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Easter Sunday.
This is a card I made for a friend. No challenge involved. Not sure what fold this is, as I received one some time back and have just copied it.
Used white cardstock and cut the "hi" and the flourishes and corner punch out with my cuttlebug using a blue cardstock, which I also matted the image onto.
The image is a digital freebie from Karen's doodles http://www.karensdoodles.blogspot.com/ which I coloured with my watercolour pencils.
The sentiment is from a local company Country craft rubber stamps
Flowers were punched out abd sprayed with some glimmer mist. A first for me. Added some pearls . I just realised that the image is not that clearly visible. I apologise for that, but you can get it from Karen's site.
Well still another day of weekend left. Enjoy

Easter Greetings

This is a card I made for an Easter card swap with my stamping group. 13 ladies took part, so this week I received in the post 12 beautiful Easter cards.
I used a cream cardstock with a shimmer, stamped a flourish from Hero arts in chocolate and attached some pearls.

The cross was cut on the cuttlebig with a nestability and put onto brown cardstock with silicone to raise it.
The sentiment was computer generated.
I hope everyone liked their cards.
As this is the eve of the Easter weekend, I would like to send this wish to my blogging friends all over the world
Wishing you specially at Easter,
that you may continue to be
the special person you are
who spreads joy and love,
sunshine and brightness
and you may hold onto your dreams
because rainbows are always
wished for you.
Wishing you a very Happy and Blessed Easter and if you are travelling , safe travels, especially those in South Africa. Take care on the roads.
Warm wishes.
