Last challenge of the year

This is the last challenge card for this year. The  DS4J challenge was Anything goes..... something old, somethig new.

My card was quite simple, as I am still on holiday and don't have all my stash available. The image is "Star keeper"....my something new. I found it just the ideal one for the New Year.
Paper ...Unknown.
Image was coloured with watercolour pencils, some glitter added and cut with a Nellie Snellen die.
Buttons..are my something old.. from an aunt here in The Netherlands..they are very old I was told.

I would also like to wish all my followers and visitors to my blog a very Happy 2012. My wish is that you may all be Blessed with good health, happiness, peace, and love this coming year.
Take care...see you next year.

New colour challenge...The Outlawz

Hello everyone from a rather cool Netherlands...no white Christmas though.
We arrived here on Thursday and had a wonderful Christmas with the family. Santa even knew where we were....
Onto the  Outlawz colourchallenge for this week. These are the colours we were given to use and the twist is to use polka dots.

This is my project...and I am sorry if I do not have the details of the papers, etc, as I am not at home when posting this.

I am not too sure if you are able to see the polka dots on the paper The paper is from Docrafts...Papermania. Cut the Christmas tree with Nellie Snellen dies..Snowflakes with Cuttlebug.... butterflies......Marianne design.
Sentiments...Docraft stamps
Added some glitter and peeloff stars.
Now I invite you to go on over to the Tuesday colour challenge and have a look at what the other DT membrs have made. We would love you to join us and show your creations
Hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy the rest of this last week of the year. Warm wishes

Outlawz Tuesday colour challenge

Good morning to all my friends,
Yikes... it is already Tuesday..the last before Christmas and another Colour challenge over at The Outlawz.
These are the colours we were given to work with this week, and they have such lovely names.  The added extra was to use pearls.

I was very fortunate to find this Dp for my card that had all the right colours in it.

Paper...white cardstock, matted DP, a piece I had, so don't know the name.
Image is from Tiddly Inks...our sponsor for the month. Coloured the hearts with distress inks and aquarelle pencils, and added glossy accents to the larger ones. Matted onto green and pink card.
Sentiment..also from Tiddly Inks, cut with a Nellie Snellen die and mounted onto a plain oval in pink.
Pearls around the sentiment and in the corner to finish and added a bow.
Was a very simple and easy one to make.

I would love for you to have a look at the fabulous projects of the other DT members. and hope to see one of yours entered in the challenge.

Warm wishes and have a great week. Hope all your preparations are coming along nicely.

I have been published!!!!

Happy Friday blogging friends and a special welcome to my new friends. Great to have you here, hope you will visit often.
Indeed a happy day here in South Africa as today is a public holiday...Reconciliation Day....so a long weekend for many and also the start of the major holiday season. Factories have closed, schools are closed and many industries are shut for the holidays, so a mass exodus of people over the next few days to the coastal resorts and various inland holiday places.  Our area becomes a pleasure to be in, less traffic, and more relaxed time.
Also a happy day as I have received a copy of the pages in Papercraft Inspirations...a magazine from the UK, in which I have had a card published. I got a call several weeks ago asking if I would give permission for my card to be featured on their "Beautiful Blog" page....so what do you think I said...YES!!!! The magazine has been posted to subscribers and goes on sale next week in the UK.
This is the card I made for a challenge in November at DS4J, using one of their images.

Full details of the card can be found Here Thanks for stopping by and I do appreciate your lovely comments.  By the way only 5 sleeps before our holiday...can't wait....but so much to do still.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good evening friends,
Yes it is still Tuesday...only a few hours left of it here in SA....so if it is Tuesday that  means one thing
Colour challenge at The Outlawz. This was the pallette we were given to work with

and here is my card for this weeks challenge:

Paper...White cardstock, blue DP..from a pad by Wilson & Maclaglin. Cut shapes with a Nestability, added glitter, pearls, ribbon,
Mounted all this onto 2 die cuts with a Nellie Snellen die.
Sentiment from a set by Docrafts.
This idea came from a card that I saw on this site    Amazing Paper Grace Becca has some of the most amazing cards and mine is not a patch on hers. I just love her inspiration.

I would be great if you visited The Outlawz and had a look at the lovely cards made by the other members of the DT. There are some lovely prizes to be won as well so hope to see some of your creations there.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and take care.

Looking through the window

Good morning friends and a happy Tuesday to you all,
Onbly 8 more sleeps till we leave on our holiday, but need to get 16 more days of work done....that's what it feel like.LOL....
As promised last week here is another of the cards made during the class I attended. It is actually a very easy and simple card to put together.
Started off with stamping the flowers using small tapestry stamps onto cream cardstock and inking all the edges.
I used a Marianne Design die for my window. It is actually a lantern die and I cut the top piece of to make it into a window. Put a sheet of acetate behind this.
The Christmas tree is from a Cuttlebug die, decorated with some bling, cut a curtain and stamped that as well.
The window was then mounted on 3D foam pads, and all was done.
I love this Marainne die, and would like to make some more windows, with different images.
Thanks for popping in and have a wonderful week. Mine is very busy as we are also having to visit with many friends and family  before we leave.
Take care, have fun and see you soon.

and then the centre flap lifts up

Paper ...white card, edges punched with a border punch.Dp...was provided so have no name.
The butterfly was cut using a Marianne Design die added some beaded embellishments, and mounted onto a Nellie Snellen diecut square with sticker rubbon and peeloff strips along the sides.

I really like this slightly different card.

Enjoy your Saturday, will stry and show some more tomorrow.
