Winter birthday card

Good morning blogging friends, and a happy Friday. What a morning we have had... woke up to grey skies, then dark clouds, thunder, heavy rain and then a bright blue sky, wonderful sunshine... then more clouds and now back to a lovely late summers day. Will see what the rest of the day brings.

My card today is by no means depicting of our weather, or wishing the winter on us, but it is for a challenge on The Outlawz group, calling for a birthday card with a winter theme. So this is what I put together.

Used a white card and matted a blue onto that, then the DP was a freebie in a magazine from the Funky Hand Winter collection. So came in really handy.

The image is a stamp I picked up at a garage sale, many months ago and is quite an old one, from an unknown source. I coloured it with my Copics. Now this is a first for me. I was given a set by my DIL last year, and I have played with them, but not that confident really. I decided last night...... Now or never.... so this is how it came out....not too bad I think. Lots more practise needed. Also not sure of the best paper to use, but anyway, will keep on trying. Made the pom-poms on their caps with puff paint and a bit of crystal glitter for a snowy effect.
The sentiment was computer generated.

The inside....I cut out the letters with my cuttlebug alphabet and stamped some music notes at random, finished off with a ribbon and music note charm. Also cut out a blank for a written message.

Birthday Packet card

Hello blogging friends,Happy Tuesday. Hope you are all enjoying the week and having fun. I would like to send a message to my friends in New Zealand. Even if you are not in the quake area you are in my thoughts, as I know this affects the whole country and its people.
This is a card I made for a blogging friend, and as she has received it, I can now post it.
It was made from a packet...yes an ordinary brown paper packet. I first saw this card on Kim's blog and have made it in a children's class for Valentine and also with adults. Here's how I did it.
Fold the packet in half and decorate it....as simple as that. I used blue cardstock that I put through the cuttlebug with a Crafts Too folder with stars... to match the stars that Tilda is blowing. I am not sure of the name of this Maggie stamp, I am very bad and need to look them up... I stamped it onto watercolour paper and coloured her with Distress ink pads and Aquarelle pencils and cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die. Swiped the edges with a distress ink pad ..stormy skies. Mounted it on a strip of glitzy flowers. Added a flower punched with Nellie Snellen floral punches and added crystal glitter to the stars.
The inside was also finished off with a printed message cut with the NS dies and the back, which I forgot to photograph also has a blue cardstock run through the cuttlebug. Popped a small gift into the opening and it was done.
This is also lovely made with a bigger packet.

Heart Pocket

Hello friends, happy Saturday as I am sure you are all very pleased that it is weekend.
Today's card was made for my DIL birthday earlier this month. I got the idea from a CDAC free lesson and the template was also available. I just loved this idea and have used it again.
Papers used were, pink cardstock, matted with a Kaisercraft DP, The Heart shape was also cut from a Kaisercraft DP (Just loved this whole range of English Rose Collection). Folded the heart, and matted it onto a plain pink card. Made a tag from the same range and stamped the sentiment onto that.
Attached a ribbon and rose to the tag, also finished off the heart with a bow, pin and rose. 3 pearls at the top and I was done.
I was very happy with this card, and she loved it.

Twisted easel card

Good morning friends and a BIG welcome to all the new visitors and friends that have joined. It is always good to have new faces around.
Wednesday already, middle of the week, middle of the month, where is the time racing off to. It is an absolutely beautiful morning here in my part of the world, hope your is also lovely. I am excited because, last week we finally did a booking for our trip to visit our son and family in New Zealand in April. So now the countdown has started and we have 6 weeks to go. Do I panic now or later...LOL! So much to do, as we shut up our little business for the duration of our holiday. We need to let everyone know, so that they can stock up, and the list just gets longer and longer. But enough of that now, here is a card I made for a challenge on my PCP group. A twisted easel card and it was so EASY, I just loved it.

The cards was made almost entirely with RAK gifts I received. The only bit of my own was the base card and the paper for the butterfly and flowers.... so thanks to all my friends for RAKS, they come in so handy.
The butterfly was cut with a Marianne design die, using Making Memories - Paper reverie.
The roses I made from punches using Kaisercraft - English rose collection.
The image was stamped with a stamp from a local store, and has no name on it.

Birthday Candy

Thanks with hot chocolate

Hello blogging friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. My card to day was made for a swap on a PCP group. We had to make a thank you card with a winter theme. Here in South Africa where I live, our winters are actually quite sunny most of the time. We do get cold days and the nights can be very cold and frosty, so what is nicer than a lovely mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows....... hence my card.

Paper. White card, matted a blue then DP, but don't know the name. It was a piece left over.

Image. Whiff of Joy, stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with distress ink pads, Cut out with Nesties, also a blue nestie for layering.

Sentiment was cut with my cuttlebug alphabet.
Added some small flowers to the mug and bling snowflakes to the top.

Birthday butterflies.

Happy Saturday to everyone. I hope wherever you are you are having a wonderful day. I have just come home from watching my grandaughter taking part in a horse show. She did very well jumping 80 and 90 cm, unfortunately she wasn't placed as she had a penalty in one, and her time wasn't fast enough in the other. But she jumped well and in her equitation got a 1st. So well done to Kellie.
I need more birthday cards, so here is another quick one I entered in the Outlawz birthday challenge.
Paper: just cardstock in 2 colours, no DP paper today.
Image: Crafty individuals, inked up the stamp with my colourbox inks..pinks, purple, lilac - applied randomly ... to match the cardstock and stamped onto some shimmer card.
Butterfly punched from some freebie paper.
Sentiment: Just right stamps, and attached with a ribbon. Added some bling.

Added ribbon and butterflies to the inside and also embossed a piece of glimmer paper with a butterfly folder and cut out an oval for space to write a message.

This really was such a quickie card, but I liked the outcome. Hope your weekend is a great one. Warm wishes.
