Christmas card with a window

Happy Friday morning friends.
It is a coolish rainy day here in my neck of the woods. We have really had some heavy rains over the past few days, with some sunshine, but heavy downpours and small hail that managed to knock all the flowers of my newly planted rosebushes and small annuals. At least the buds on the roses are in tact and hopefully in a week or so they will show off their lovely blooms. We were told that we were going into another 'El Nino' phase, but we have had a heck of a lot of rain the last month, so maybe El Nini is going to come later...I hope not.

Anyway on to my card...another Christmas card. This is the second card from the class last week and the ladies made such gorgeous ones, all using the same products.

It is a centre step card with a window cut into the centre. I saw a card that was made by Sylvia recently, but couldn't find the link to it.

This is what I used:

Paper - red mirror board and patterned paper from Michele R Designs

Marianne Design dies - Door, candles and star banner.

Nellie Snellen - Holly branch
Printed picture - Nellie Snellen

Finished it off with glitter and Pontura pearl maker for the berries.

This is a side view, to show how the cutout window slips into the back of the card.
I will enter  this in some challenges:
The Crafter's Café challenge #94...Christmas/Holiday season                                                                             Crafty Creations challenge #278...Something to die for    Creative Moments challenge #57...Anything goes/winter Inspiration Destination #11...Anything goes
Cuttin and Stampin challenge #3...Christmas
Cuttlebug Mania challenge...Anything Christmas

Take care and see you soon.

Colour challenge...no twist at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
I am so pleased to get this post up as we have been having power cuts everyday since Friday, lasting 4 to 5 hours and it plays havoc with planning and everything.

This week we have another great colour challenge at The Outlawz. Ina has chosen this palette and there is no twist, so I am sure you will all enjoy this one. The DT have again made really super cards, so we would love you to come and visit for some inspiration.

The prize this month is a gift card for $15, so I do hope you will come and join in the fun.

This is my card, but I did actually deviate slightly and added a little bit of green....naughty, naughty!

I used a stencil of Dutch Doobadoo and my Pan Pastels to create this.
Added pearls, Pontura dots for the centre of the flower and a peel-off sentiment.
This was a quicky, and I needed this as time was running out.

Will enter a few challenges:

The Corrosive challenge 214...Anything goes
A Little bit Crafty ...Anything goes, but NOT Christmas

Folded Christmas tree card.

Hello friends,
What a busy week I have had, and today was the last class for this year, This is one of the cards we made.

Details are:
I used the papers from a Papermania paper pad. for the matting on the card and the stars.

The Christmas tree paper is from Scrap Sheets. I saw this folded star a number of years back on the  StampARTic site, and have made a number over that time..                                        Decorated the tree with some peel-offs.          The reindeer is a Marianne Design die.       Added a star with glitter, ribbon and corner peeloffs.

Using the colours of the rainbow

Good morning bloggers,
We have had a fair bit of rain the last few weeks, and I have seen some lovely rainbows up in the sky, but none as bright as the palette for today's colour challenge at The Outlawz.

This is Laurian's choice for the challenge this week.
Use 3 colours and there is no twist, so it couldn't be easier, just tell us which colours you have chosen.

There is no official sponsor this month, but Laurian is offering a $15 gift card, so that is certainly something worth entering for.

The DT have again made lovely cards, so do pop in for some inspiration.

Here is what I came up with, using the colours yellow, blue and green

Paper  from an old paper block with no name on it.
Image - Number1 Dude from Digistamps4Joy and you can find it HERE Coloured with Distress inkpads.
Sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession, cut in blue and white. I used a brad for the dot on the I.
Finished off with buttons.

Will enter it in some challenges:
Scrappy Hands challenge #27...Happy birthday
Sentimental Sundays #235...Lots of layers
The Corrosive challenge #213 ...Happy everything
