Colour challenge for the Holidays

Good morning friends
Can you belier, here we are starting the last month of this year, and  probably a busy time for all. I know it will be a crazy few weeks ahead for me as we go on holiday in 2 weeks, and there is just so much to do.

This week over at The Outlawz Roxanne has chosen the palette for theColour challenge  and for the twist has challenged us to make a holiday card or project.

We have a new sponsor for December Gerda Steiner Designs and Gerda has kindly offered as a prize, the images that the DT are using this month.
Gerda Steiner Designs

For my project I decided to make a little gift bag, as I need a few for my  gift card gifts, with a little something edible in there as well. The packet is made from an envelope and this is so easy to make, just using an envelope for the size of gift bag required.

I have used the image Kitten in gift bag and you can find it HERE I coloured it with my usual Distress inkpads, added glitter, pearly paint and some puffy paint for the fur on the hat.

Extra stars and a peel off sentiment, and it was finished in no time.

I am entering some challenges with it.

Good morning everyone,
Tuesdays do seem to come round very quickly and so it is time for another colour challenge at The Outlawz, the last one for November. This week is another  of our challenges with a difference and it was  Penny who chose the palette and photo this week, with the twist to add a flourish

Our sponsor for the month of November has been QKR Stampede and once again several of the DT have used their images.

Please go and have a look at the gorgeous cards made by them for your inspiration

My card was made with the image 'Roses" and I used the colours smooth pink, lovely lavender and gentle white.

I coloured the image with my old faithfulls..Distress inkpads and added a touch of glitter.

Cut and embossed a corner with a Marianne Design Creatable die ..a rose

Mounted the image over a doily cut with a Marainne Design Creatable.

The flourish is also a MD die.

Sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.

Bags and tags

Happy Friday friends,
This week over at Crafty Catz the challenge #208 is Bags and tags, and the sponsor for this week is Digistamps4Joy. I am lucky to be the GD for this challenge and this is my project.

My bag was made from a sheet of scrapbooking paper ...Paper Reverie by Making Memories. Just loved the gold polka dots.  (I will give details of how to make it at the end of this post)
Image ..I used 2 images 'Misteri's new shoes' and a set 'shoes' There are 4 shoes in the set and these can be found HERE
all were coloured with distress inkpads and I added some shine and bling to the shoes.
Cut the main image with a die cut matted onto black card, and then cut the shoes out with fancy scissors and matted those onto black as well.
The tag is also a diecut from Marianne Designs, matted onto the reverse side of the DP and the sentiment is a DoCrafts stamp.

INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE THE BAG   using a sheet of paper 30 x 30cm.
(Sorry I just noticed that I have given all measurements in cm and the scored lines are the dashed lines...no red lines I see)
I do hope these instructions make sense. Not sure how  to do something like this. If there are any queries please email me.

I am going to enter some challenges with this.

Hot off the press....DS4J new releases

Good morning friends on a beautiful Sunday morning here in South Africa.

Today there are again some lovely new digi images released at  Digistamps4Joy and if you go to the blog you will be able to see the lovely cards made by some of the DT for your inspiration.

I decided to make a side step card this time. using the image Mini Misteri bearing gifts

Here is what I used.

Image is coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out.
The holly leaf background paper was made by putting a stencil through the cuttlebug and then going over the stencil with distress inks before removing it. I highlighted the berries with a Pontura pearl maker. I did the same with the star using a star stencil.
The printed paper is Christmas cottage by Teresa Collins
The star and Christmas tree are Marianne Design dies
Finished off with a sentiment mounted on a gold and green punch out.

Will enter the following challenges.

DS4J Challenge #80 with stitching

Happy Wednesday morning everyone,
A beautiful fresh, clear skies kind of morning. Had some much needed rain yesterday evening, lucky the hail stayed small and only lasted a very short while. More rain is forecast the next few days...so living in hope.

This week I am very fortunate to be hosting the challenge at Digistamps4Joy. The theme I chose is stitching, and before you all throw your hands up in horror at the thought of needle and thread or hauling out the sewing machine....ANY KIND of stitching is acceptable, even faux stitching. So I really do hope you will ALL come and join in the fun this fortnight.
You don't have to use a DS4J image, but of course if you do you will get an extra chance in the draw,
I hope you will come and join in this challenge and show us your lovely creations...any papercraft projects are welcome with an image, digi or stamped.

The DT have made some wonderful cards for your inspiration and I hope you will pop over and see them.

This is the card I made using the image..corset and frills.

I coloured the image with distress inks and highlighted the stitching on the corset with a glitter pen. You can find it  HERE
Paper is from a Vintage pad by Marianne Design
The die cut is a Marianne design die, I have had for a little while and not yet used. But I just love it so you will see it more often.
The corner die is from Joy crafts..Noor design.
Sentiment is a freebie from  A Piece of Heart
I machine stitched on 2 corners, but it is lost a little, should have done it all round. I just wished my machine would co-operate and do some zig-zag on my cards.
Finished of with a bow, and pearls.

Am entering it in some challenges:
 Anonymous Stamps challenge Nov....Anything goes
Craft-Dee Bowz...Anything goes with a handmade bow
Artistic Inspirations #67...Use a sentiment
Bunny Zoe's crafts Nov...Shabby chic/vintage
 Paper Makeup Stamps challenge #114...Stitching

Have a great day, downhill to the weekend now. Take care,
Love Ursula
