Shelly's & Create4fun

One card 2 challenges.

This is a first time challenge for me at Shelly's images. While on holiday last month I had the good fortune to win a digital image from Shelly. This is not the one that I chose, but loved this image and decided to get it. So I thought it would make a good birthday card.
Creat4fun require a digital image to be used.
The challenge on Shelly's blog was to use blue, sewing, material(ribbon) or buttons and all based on the fact that Shelley's Mom is having a birthday this month and loves to use all these elements. So this is what I came up with.

Card: white and matted DP printed from a download offered byJak. Pop over and visit her. She has wonderful cards and offers free downloads of beautiful papers on a regular basis. I cut out an oval with a Nellie Snellen multiframe die and put my image into that,
Image: Shelly's "mayflowers". I printed this image twice. Once on white card, then on the DP and cut out the umbrella pieced this onto the original image. I coloured the flowers with a combination of distress inks, twinling H20's, watercolour pencils and added a bit of Flower Soft to fill in the gaps.
Sentiment: I stamped this onto the DP and again cut with my Nellie Snellen die, threaded ribbon through,
Finished it off with 2 layers of ribbon and small flower buttons, cutting off the shanks.
I also decorated the inside with the DP. Here the lovely design is more visible, stamped a message onto that.

Halfway through the week already. See you all soon.

Isabella's challenge

Talk about in the nick of time. This is my card for the challenge this week. We had to use the colours in the Isabella's blog header. They really are lovely colours and this is how I used them.

I matted a lilac cardstock onto white card. Punched the corners. The lilac card is a lot darker on the photo, as I had to use a flash, not getting it finished in time.
The image is one that I was lucky enough to win with the last challenge, and I just love it as there is so much to do with it. I coloured it with aquarelle pencils and used flower soft for the climbing roses.
The sentiment is from my recently acquired Justrite set.
Finished it off with pearls.
Hope you like it and see you soon.

Hope I matched the colours of tthe header.
