Last colour challenge of 2015

Morning everyone,
Not many days left now of 2015. Are you happy to see it leave?...I have mixed feelings...not sure what next year holds for us...but I guess there is no backing out of this so let's see what comes.

The last colour challenge of this year at The Outlawz is hosted by Laurian with this lovely photo and the twist ...to add sparkle.

Susan one of our DT is sponsoring the challenge this month with a $15 gift voucher to a store of your choice, and the team have made lovely cards for inspiration, so do come along and join in the fun. We would love to see you share your creations with us.


I decided to make a card for the new year and it is another shaped card. The template is from Kittys'Craft and can be found HERE







This is what I used:

Paper from a winter holiday pad that was a freebie in a magazine a number of years back.

I cut the numbers using a very old CB die. Got this when I bought my CB about 12 years ago.

The glasses are a Marianne design die.

Sentiment is a peel off, coloured with markers.

Added gems for my sparkle and also glitter to the numbers.

A snowman or snow..in this heat!!!!

Morning all, and  happy Tuesday.

Over at the colour challenge for The Outlawz, Susan has chosen the colour palette for this week, and great colours they are. The twist is ...add a snowman or snow..... Well now in temps of between 30 and 34 deg C, for over 2 weeks now, I would welcome a snowman to cool me off, but I don't think he will last very long, so I will leave him on my card.

Susan is also sponsoring the challenges this month, so you have a chance to win a $15 gift voucher to the store of your choice. The DT have  made some lovely cards for inspiration, so I do hope you have a little time to craft midst all the Christmas preparations to come along and join us.

The snowman image is a freebie from Anne, who is one of the DT members at The Outlawz and she has kindly given us a number of images to download on her website. Head on over and see them for yourself.

The Christmas cracker shape was an idea I got from an Advent Calendar gift at Card Making Downloads, 
I tweaked it a bit to fit the size that I required, and didn't use the paper and pictures that came with it.

I cut it out of red cardstock and then layered green patterned paper with snowflakes onto that.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and some glitter added in various places, then cut out with an oval MFD. Attached this to an oval scolloped MFD.

The sentiment is a Nellie Snellen stamp

A yellow ribbon with a bow to finish off.

I do think this is the last of the Christmas cards that I will be making this year, and will enter it in the following challenges:

Time for some sparkle

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone.
I hope that your Christmas preparations are going well, as time is now starting to run out.

Today I have a card for the new challenge #54 at Creative Craft Cottage    
with the theme to "add some sparkle".

For this challenge we again have a lovely sponsor Lacy Sunshine. I have used the image called Holly and you can find it HERE.
The winner of this challenge will receive 3 gorgeous images, so please come and join in with this really easy challenge.


I used teal glitter paper for the 1st layer and then matted some glitter patterned paper with holly leaves.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and again added gold glitter onto the bauble.

Finished off with a poinsettia and a peel-off sentiment.

Anything but a card

Good morning friends,

Tuesday is the colour challenge at The Outlawz and this week my team mate AJ, selected this colour palette and challenged us to make anything but a card.

We have a lovely prize of  a $15 gift certificate to the store of your choice, which is being sponsored by another of my teammies, Susan. So do come along and join in the fun.

For my project I have made 3 gift tags for my Christmas gifting.



Used black cardstock to cut the tags.

Printed music paper, tore each piece and distressed with Distress inkpads.

Made a quilled angel for each tag, added glitter to the halo and the wings. I had wanted to make different angels, but only discovered too late I didn't have enough papers, so will have to do some shopping.

Printed the sentiment words and cut out with a diecut, attached with ribbon and finished off with a peeloff Merry Christmas.

Sailing with Digistamps4Joy

Hello friends,
Yes back with my second card today...well the first card actually as the previous posting was tags...anyway here it is.

The current challenge at Digistamps4Joy is Anything goes, with a twist ...add 3 of something.

I have gone with a masculine card for a change, and these are the details,

The patterned paper was from my stash. The darker one was a freebie in a crafting magazine long ago.

The image is 'sailboat'and you can find it HERE I coloured it with Distress  inkpads and added some clouds.

Added 3 strands of twine with an anchor charm.

3 Buttons to match the twine and 3 birds in the sky.

Digistamps4Joy releases new images today

Happy Sunday morning friends,
I do hope the weekend is good for you all. We had some lovely rain on Friday and the weather has cooled just 2 or 3 degrees, but hey...being 29 is better than 32 degrees.

Onto the card for today. Digistamps4Joy have released a number of new images today.
The DT have used various images for their cards today, and for some inspiration do go and see what great creations they have made HERE

For my card I have used the image Lil-Jill Urchin Sunflower, which I coloured with Distress inkpads and added white dots onto her dress, to match the patterned paper I had diecut.

Layered it onto my patterned paper.

Added ribbon with a bow and some pearls.

The sentiment is a new stamp set I got from Studio Light.

Today there is a new Colour challenge  at The Outlawz. This week Ina chose the Inspirational photo and what a great one it is.

The DT have been inspired to make wonderful  cards, so please do go and have a look.

For my card I was inspired by the ornaments and also the word "Noel"

Here is what I used.

The image is 'Tree of kindness' This a freebie from the very talented Christina Hor who is one of our DT members at The Outlawz. She has offered this with some sentiments on her BLOG and it is available till 11th December.

I printed the image in colour and then put it into the embossing folder, It is a Craft Too folder.

I coloured the ornaments with Pan Pastels, gold pen, glitter and a  gel pen.

The sentiment is a stamp in a set from Papermania, that I have had and used so much. Added glitter and a gem to the snowflake .

Creative Craft Cottage challenge #53 ...Anything goes

Hello everyone,

Another new week and another new challenge. Creative Craft Cottage has an Anything Goes challenge this time and we are lucky to have 2 sponsors, so the DT are using images from both sponsors.

My Stitch Back in Twine Digi Designs       and        Karleigh Sue images

I have used an image from Karleigh Sue digis called Special Occasion and you can find it HERE

Details of my card:

I decided to make a fancy shape and this is a Tee Pee shaped card, which folds flat for mailing, see photo lower down. I first saw this card on Bibiana's Blog you can see it HERE with a tutorial.

I used a dark red patterned paper and matted a cream paper with roses onto it.

Image was coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with an oval die, layered onto a scolloped die cut. Added a touch of glitter

The sentiment was a free digi from TLC creations. Also cut with a die and layered onto the dark card.

The flower I made using coffee filter paper and a floral flourishes die from Joy Crafts

The flourishes are also cut  with a Joycrafts die.

Below is the photo of the card open , and it can just be folded over for posting.

Oh Christmas tree

Happy Saturday friends,

We have had lovely rain this week, so it is a happy Saturday here. Everything is lovely and fresh, the dust has been settled for now and even though we are having temps of 32 deg the mornings have been so beautiful.

Today starts a new challenge #108 at Let's Craft and Create with the theme...Christmas. That is an easy one for now, so please go and see what lovely projects the DT have made.


Here is what I have used:
Paper - The gingerbread paper was one I received as a prize from
  12 Months of Christmas linkup

The image is a Papermania Stamp onto green cardstock. Cut it out and decorated it with glitter and Pontura pearl makers.
 I stamped the pot onto brown card and cut it out, layered it with foam pads and tied a silk ribbon bow.

The sentiment was printed.

December Progressive challenge

Here we are friends ...beginning of December,
It just seems like a short while back, that we had Christmas, and now Christmas is just around the corner.

Play tic-tac-toe today at The Outlawz

Good morning friends on this 1st day of December.

I am sure things will be getting quite busy, but I do hope you will find a little time to come and play at the Colour challenge this week as we have a tic-tac-toe for you.



Our DT member Susan is offering a prize of  a $15 gift certificate to the store of your choice, so that is certainly something to play for.


The DT have made lovely cards for inspiration, so please do visit and see what they have to show.

For my card I have used the top row with the twist to add a layer

I used a CB embossing folder, which I inked up and you can see how to do this HERE. Matted this onto lavender cardstock.

Cut a frame with a Leabilities die and layered a second diecut.
