February calendar page

Hello friends,

I have had quite a busy week preparing for a class tomorrow, but I did get a chance to make my next calendar page.

I joined another progressive challenge at Deedee's DigiDigi of the month. This was the lovely set  I received and thought it just perfect for my calendar page. It also comes with precoloured images, which can be very handy at times, but I coloured mine with Distress inkpads and used one of the papers that came in the set.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz with fruit or flowers

Good morning friends.
I am thinking of my blogging friends in the USA today that are experiencing bad snow and storms. I hope you are all safe and warm.

The Tuesday colour challenge at The Outlawz is one of the regular old favourites. Choose 3 colours and there is a twist. This week Lindsay is hosting the challenge and this was her choice of inspirational photo, with the twist to add fruit or flowers.

The DT have made lovely cards using images from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Stamps and we would love you to come over and join in.

This is my card:

 

I used a green cardstock, matted a piece from a Marianne Designs paper bloc - Flower Power.

Image is called Beary Happy Bloom and you can find it HERE. I coloured it with Distress Inkpads and cut it out with a die.

The mesh was cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

Sentiment is a peel of.

Pearls and ribbon to finish.

New releases at Digistamps4joy

A happy Sunday to everyone.
It is a gorgeous day here, but once again temps over the 30degrees C...so another sweltering day.
There are some lovely images over at Digistamps4Joy today and if you need inspiration then have a look HERE at the lovely cards made by the DT.

I decided on a different fold this week and made a tunnel card.

Paper - brown cardstock. Patterned paper is from a range called Tea's up, by Funky Hand. I have had this paper for so long and has forgotten about it. (I am trying this year to use items that have been forgotten and not used much)

Christmas with a laundry line

Hello friends,
I am trying very hard to get my backlog of half done cards finished......not a New Year's resolution, but just getting myself a little more organised and up to date.

Today's card is for challenge #1 at The 12 month's of Christmas link up with the optional theme "Father time"

This is my card and what I have used.

 Paper - Red cardstock. The patterned paper was a freebie called Merry lights, from Lisa of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. She ran a 12 day give-away just after Christmas. First time I get to use one of these lovely papers.

Celebrating Australia Day

 

Happy Tuesday bloggers,
Today we have another colour challenge at The Outlawz and once again we are using the theme...colours of your flag.

I might not be very popular for using  this title on my blog. It is a well known fact that South Africans and Australians are big rivals on the sporting fields, but as Ina is hosting the challenge, and being Australian, it is fitting that her country's flag is the inspiration this week, as the Australians celebrate their national day on 26 January.
There is no twist, so use the flag or colours to inspire you for this week's challenge.

The DT have all come up with some amazing cards some of them using an image from Stitchy Bear stamps who is our sponsor this month, so I hope you will come and visit and then join in with your creation.

We three kings

Good afternoon from a very hot South Africa,
Yes, very hot, but then it is midsummer. Temp is 29dec. C in the shade, so not much energy for anything very strenuous. I decided to finish this card which is long overdue.

The image was the last one for the Christmas progressive challenge at Digistamps4Joy, which ended last year. I just didn't get a chance to finish it off, so this will be the first one for 2015.

 

Paper - blue cardstock, Patterned paper from a pad by Art Talent.

Image - We Three Kings 1 from Digistamps4Joy and you can find it HERE. There are 3 different kings and also a set of all 3 the Kings.

Coloured the image with Distress inkpads, added some gold and pearl makers, also a gem to his shoe. Cut it out and mounted with silicone.

Added a gold star, and a few peel-off stars.

Sentiment is computer generated.

 

I am entering this card in the DS4J -1000member challenge on FB As soon as they have 1000 members everyone who has met the requirements will receive this gorgeous image.

You need a DS4J image and then enter your card - that simple.

New! Monthly challenge at DS4J

Good morning friends

This is the first challenge for 2015 at Digistamps4 Joy, and we are going monthly from now on.  This challenge #108, will end on 31 January, and from February you will have a whole month to enter your cards.




Asmah one of our DT is hosting this month's challenge and she wants us to play bingo. So here is what you can choose from.

Teatime

It isn't too often that I get to do two posts in a day, but I finished this card and as it was actually meant for Sunday and is a little overdue, I am posting it now.

Last Sunday Digistamps4Joy released some new images, but I just couldn't get a card made until today. This is one of the images called Tea Cups and there are also some other lovely ones which you can see HERE.

I was  inspired by a card that was made by my blogging friend  Petra for the Fusion Card challenge so decided to go and have a look.  This is my entry:

First colour challenge of 2015

Good morning friends,

So we have our first colour challenge at The Outlawz for this year and it is an old favourite...an inspirational photo, 3 colours and a twist, so I do hope you will come and join in the fun.

Laurian has chosen this week's photo and colours and the DT have made some amazing cards, using images from our sponsor Stitchy Bear images




This is my card.




Recipe:

Pink cardstock, matted a white card which I had run through the CB with a butterfly embossing folder. I haven't used this one for a long time. (trying to use at least I item each week from 'the archives'

Image - Floral frame 2, and you can find it HERE. I coloured with Distress Inkpads, cut it with an oval die and framed it with scalloped die.

3 butterflies punched with a Nellie Snellen punch and added pearls.

Sentiment..used peeloffs

Finished off with a bow.

WOW...DT. favourite, winner and in the spotlight

Hello friends,
This is the third day of the New Year and it couldn't get better crafting wise. They say things come in 3's...well I had three lovely surprises the last few days...is this a sign for the rest of the year??? who knows.


This card was chosen as a DT favourite at Eureka Stamps for challenge #120

Then I was a winner at Inspiration Destination challenge #13 with my quilled tags.

Today I was in the spotlight at Crafting by Designs for December challenge with this card.

I hope you are all enjoying a restful weekend, before the normal routine begins again on Monday.

I can't make up my mind what day it is, so it will be good to get back to a normal week .

Progressive Freebie #2

Hello everyone,
Here we are 11 hours into the New Year and I hope everyone had a good evening. May this New Year of 2015, with all its blank pages end up being a wonderful book filled with great stories.

Last month we started a new series of Progressive Freebie  challenges at The Outlawz. It was such a huge success and if you didn't get a chance to join in then you can start now.

Image coloured with Distress inks, added some flower soft for the trim on her hat and skirt. Haven't used this in ages.  Image was cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD

Snowflakes were added cut with a very old CB die, and glitter added

Sentiment onto a label with ribbon.
