Its Colour challenge day at The Outlawz

Hello to my friends new and old.
After a lovely cloudy weekend with some lovely rain, it is again a warm sunny day, and today there is another colour challenge for you all at The Outlawz.

Today Penny chose the colours for the challenge with this gorgeous photo and colour palette. She has asked us to use distressing as the twist.

We are sponsored for the last time this month by Nicecrane Designs and they have really given us beautiful images to work with.

The DT have used a selection of the images and they would love you to go and visit, but then to  join in.

This week I have once again used one of the French Postcards, as I am having a really hectic week, and such fun to make a card not worrying about the colours. I do really love colouring, but every so often it just helps to get it done quickly.

I went with a different fold this week. I am not sure what it is called, but it is not a usual stepper card.

Paper. I was lucky that I found the right colours in a Vintage Bloc from Joycrafts. Inked the edges of the card with black, and distressed the edges of the paper.

The image is from the selection of French Postcards, cut out and matted onto burgundy card.

I stamped some music onto card, tore it and inked the edges.

The Sentiment is from Joycrafts.

A bow in a deep orange and some pearls to finish.

I will try my luck at some challenges later today.

Midway reminder Digistamps4Joy challenge #102

Good morning friends,
It is indeed a good morning with a little rain last night to clear the air. Hopefully we will get some more today.

My card today is to remind you of the challenge at Digistamps4Joy  My teamie Jackie is hosting this challenge and the theme is 'Animals'.  The DT have made some really interesting cards for inspiration. Now I am sure you all have some stamp or digi with an animal, so why not come and join in the challenge.
You do not have to use a Ds4J image, but if would be great if you did, because then you get a chance in the main draw.


Here is my card:

The paper is from a paper block  - Pretty papers by Marianne Design.
Image - Catterpillar bridge and you can find it HERE
Coloured it with distress inkpads, and added a bit of glitter.. I also coloured some grass and a bit of cloudy sky as a background.
Sentiment is from A piece of Heart attached with 2 flower brads.

Let's Craft and Create challenge # 98

Good evening friends.
We have just had a lovely shower of rain. Here in my part of South Africa we only have summer rains and the last rain we had was in April this year. It has been a dry start to the summer, with a small shower last week and a sprinkling a few days later. This evening wasn't anything WOW, but it settled the dust, and that we have plenty of. We have just moved into a Retirement complex, where there is a lot of building and...you guessed it ...DUST, so the shower of rain was lovely and cooled things down just a little.

Anyway..down to business. This week we have a new challenge at  Let's Craft and Create with the theme Animal Antics. The DT have some lovely cards for inspiration.

Here is my card

 

I decided on a zig-zag card for a change. I find one gets into a rut, making  one type of card, so it was great to do something a little different.

 

Paper - I used black cardstock and made my own patterned paper by stamping with an Impression Obsession 'Cover a card' stamp..tiny flowers. Also used kraft cardstock for the diecut behind the cats, the heart and the label.

The cats are from Marianne Design, and I cut them in black and white and layered onto the kraft card.

The sentiment comes with the die, stamped it onto a Nellie Snellen label.

Finished off with a ribbon bow and some pearls.

Colour challenge and a Party at The Outlawz.

Good morning all,

Firstly I am sorry to tell you that I am a day late for the PARTY at The Outlawz, so please hurry along and join in the fun. There is lots to do and lovely prizes to be won.


This week the colour challenge is being hosted by Ina. She has chosen a beautiful photo for inspiration and the colours are so lovely, with the twist -  to add lace. So please come and join in the fun. The DT have made awesome cards using the lovely images from our sponsor Nicecrane Designs




OK, so this is my card and what I have used:

Paper - Pink cardstock, with Designer paper from Marianne Design - Pretty Papers Bloc. I have cheated a little and not used real lace....this is my twist using the lacy design paper.

Image is 'A child's garden of verse" and can be found HERE. Coloured with Distress ink pads and cut with a Nellie Snellen MFD

I used a peel off sentiment and added pearls and ribbon.

New releases at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Sunday friends,
After our horrible dust storm of a few days ago, we are having the most beautiful blue skies at the moment, but we now badly need some rain. Nothing worth mentioning has fallen since the end of summer, (April) so it is very dry.

I haven't been able to make a card with a new release for a while, due to moving, but to day I do have one for you. There are some lovely new images in the SHOP, so do yourselves a favour and go and have a look. Did you also know that DS4J has a points reward system?  For every $10 spent you get a $1 reward ...so that is a very good reason to do some shopping.

So here is my card using the lovely Sunbird by Margy. It is sitting on a beautiful Leucospermum - pincushion. We received a beautiful plant as a gift for our new house, and it will be planted in our new garden in the next week or so.

This is what I used:

Paper - Teal cardstock, Printed paper from a paper pad - vintage with no name

Image - Sunbird, coloured with Twinkling H20's, the yellow pincushion heads were made with Pontura pearl makers. I cut it out with an X-cut die, and inked the edges.

The ivy is a Marianne Design die, inked it while still in the die.

Added glittery brads.

Sentiment - is a stamp not sure from where it came

Another Tuesday colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
I hope the week has started off on a good note for you. I forgot to wish my Canadian friends a happy day yesterday. I do hope you all had a great day.


This week at The Outlawz I had the honour of choosing the inspirational photo,  colours and twist for the Colour challenge It is again  one of the special challenges, and I give you one colour, you choose 2 more from the photo and decide on your own twist...now is that not a great idea. So here is the photo...lots of colours to choose from.





 We are still sponsored by Nice Crane Designs and the digital image I have used is one from a new set called Little Workers and can be found HERE I think this is such a cute set, so will use the others soon.




This is the card I came up with, and my colours used are Purple, dark red and light turquoise. The twist is to add embossing.

 

I made my background paper by running a stencil through the cuttlebug and then going over that with my Pan Pastels. The stencil is from Joycrafts.

Matted the image onto a red Nellie Snellen die cut.

Sentiment is computer generated and attached with ribbon and  a cupcake brad.

3 purple buttons to finish

The DT have some awesome cards for inspiration, so I hope you will hop over and join us. You do not have to use a DS4J image, but if you do you could win the main prize. Please note that you have to use either a digi or a stamped image.

This is my card, which I was requested to make by a friend.  The colours I was asked to use were black and gold.

Paper I used was from Forever Friends - black and gold
Image is Heart of roses and can be found HERE I coloured it with Distress inkpads, added some glitter and cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MF Die. The larger black heart is cut with a Marianne Design die.
Sentiment is a peel off onto a Nellie Snellen label. The numbers are also peel-offs.
Added some ribbon.

Vintage twist this week at the Outlawz

Good morning blogging friends,
Phew! what a week...moving house is a huge job, but we are now settled in our new home. The craft room is not yet fully organised, but I can find most things.


This week at The Outlawz, being the beginning of a new month  we have a new sponsor for theColour challenge and the lovely inspirational photo and twist was chosen by Laurian, with the twist to make it vintage.

 Using one of the images from the new sponsor Nice Crane Designs this is the card I came up with.

 

Paper from a paper bloc 'Vintage'. It is a no-name bloc that I bought when in The Netherlands a while back. Distressed some edges and inked with distress inks Antique Linen

Image - is one from a set of precoloured postcards - 'French Postcards'. I needed this as just didn't have much time to do this card and just love this set, so will use it more often. You can find it HERE

Added a birdage diecut. Couldn't lay my hands on my Memory Box dies, but was lucky to find some that I cut a while back.

Added, lace, ribbon and pearls from my stash

Sentiment - peel offs onto a diecut.
