I'm late, I'm late.....

Happy Sunday friends,
I do hope you are all having a great weekend. At least it has warmed up here after the very cold snap that we had this week, and as tomorrow is unofficially the start of spring here in South Africa, it promises to be a lovely day.

I am  late with my card for the Christmas challenge at Digistamps4Joy, just getting in at the ninth hour!
This is a progressive challenge, and if you haven't yet joined, it isn't too late. Just contact Desire and you will receive an image, make your card, post it on the challenge blog, and the following month you will receive the next image. It sure helps to get an early start to your Christmas cards.

This month the image was Santa's helper, and if you didn't join the challenge you can get it at the SHOP

Here is my card and what I used:
Paper: Red cardstock, DP from Scrapsheets - Dear Santa - presents
Stars - gold and white paper block, no name, gold mirror board.- both are Marianne Design dies

Image - Santa's helper coloured with Inktense pencils and distress inkpads. Added texture paste for the fur trim, and a touch of glitter. Ccut out with a Nellie Snellen mfd.

DS4J midway challenge #99...circles

Happy Wednesday everyone.
It is a beautiful springlike day here. Lovely blue skies and sunshine but still a little fresh outside. I think by tomorrow the story will change somewhat as there are 2 huge cold fronts hitting the southern part of the country with snowfalls and very cold weather forecast...oh well we will brace ourselves for the freezing wind and low temps that we get here in the north...but we know it won't last tooo long and spring is just peeking round the corner.

This week a reminder of the current challenge at Digistamps4Joy. My teamie Asmah chose the theme of circles. Anything from a circular card to diecuts, embossing..as long as there is a circle on your card. Now that can't be too difficult, but the DT have made gorgeous cards for inspiration...so no excuse..come and join in the fun. You don't have to use a DS4J image, but of course if you do, you stand a chance to win the main prize. So I hope to see you there.

This is my stepper rocker card and what I used.

Image - Flower circle and you can find it  HERE.  Coloured with Distress inks and mounted on a Marianne Design diecut.

Used my new Marianne Design bow die to make the gorgeous bow

I am very excited as we will be getting the keys to our new house this weekend then starts the long move, as we will be moving in during the month, so as not to leave our present house empty. After 49 years in this house...quite an event. Hard work but lots of fun.

Anything goes at Let's Craft and Create

Good morning friends.
I am afraid this post is late. I forgot to schedule it for last night....but it is only a few hours late.

Today over at Let's Craft and Create challenge #96 is Anything goes, so that is a real easy one, but the DT have all made some lovely cards for inspiration/ Do go and have a browse.

I decided to try a different card this time for a young lady's birthday. It is a Tilt card and I found it HERE

This is what I used:
Paper - Pieces from my stash..the last of a pad from ages agoThe young lady loves pink and purple...so that was easy
Image - Pig cupcakes from Bugaboo.. coloured with Distress inks cut out and mounted onto a scalloped oval. Added some glitter
Sentiment is a Memory box die
Added pearls from my stash

It's Tuesday so must be a colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning fellow bloggers,

Today  is the last Tuesday of August...can you believe it, and I have the honour of choosing the inspirational photo, palette and twist for this week's colour challenge at The Outlawz.

 This is what you need to do. Make a card or any project using at least 3 of the 5 colours, and also using the twist, which is to add stripes. Enter the card in the challenge telling us which colours you have used...it is that easy. We would love to see you join us and the DT have made some gorgeous cards to inspire you, so I really hope you will come and join  in the fun.


This is the last week of the sponsorship by Bugaboo stamps and they have a lovely prize of 7 images for the winner.



                             Now on to my card.





I used midnight blue cardstock and matted a luscious lime DP onto it

The image is 'Coffee time, may your cup' and you can find it HERE I coloured it with distress inkpads, cut it out with an X-cut die and matted onto a Citron yellow die cut.

The sentiment goes with the Coffee Time image and also mounted this onto the same DP.

The corners were cut from striped paper, and finished off with buttons.

The colour challenge with a leaf or tree

Hello dear friends,
After a rather hectic and a bit stressful week, I am pleased to make it here today with a lovely colour challenge at The Outlawz. One great thing this past week... on Saturday night we had lovely soaking rain for a few hours. Having had no rain since April, this was just wonderful...settled lots of dust and the spring flowers and leaves are just bursting to get out.

This week at The Outlawz Penny has chosen the inspirational photo, colour palette and twist....It is a really lovely one and I do hope that many of you will feel inspired to join in.

On to my card:

I used an orange cardstock and onto this I matted an
embossed card. Used a folder from Craft Concepts, have had it for a while, but not used it yet and then shaded the leaves with Pan Pastels.

The image is  Thank you tulip block and can be found  HERE.
I coloured this with Distress inkpads and matted onto green cardstock.

Ribbon, leaf charm..had these for ages,  and pearls to finish.

Tuesday is Colour challenge day

Hello friends,
Tuesday has come around so quickly again and so we have another colour challenge at The Outlawz. This week is was Lindsay who chose this gorgeous inspirational photo and colour palette, and this time YOU get to choose the twist, as well as 2 colours from the photo for your creation.

Here is my project for this week...no card this time.

I decided to go with a tag...this is my twist and the colours I have chosen are bronze, gray and gold

 I needed a gift tag for a friend who loves music, so decided to use this image.

I started by making a tag with kraft paper and used bronze Pan Pastel to stencil some rays onto it, but they are lost behind the image. Then used a Dutch Doobadoo stencil with broken circles and grey Pan Pastel .
Stamped a bit of music from a Marianne design stamp and embossed with gold.
The image is Just a note 6 and you can find it HERE I coloured it with Distress inks and added a touch of glitter to the angel's wings. Cut it out and mounted onto a diecut. I used a stonewhased coordination card.
Added some grey fibre under this.
Stamped the sentiment onto the diecut as well as on the ribbon and a cold ribbon for the tag.

It does look a lot brighter in real life and looked good on the gift bag. I should have taken a photo of the whole lot, as I had also stamped bronze music onto the bag.

Something new challenge #98 at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Wednesday friends,
Today we are having a 'NEW' challenge at Digistamps4Joy
I am honoured to be the host of this challenge and I chose the theme 'Celebrate something new'. Now I am sure you can all find something new to celebrate...maybe a new baby, car, house, job, pet or anything else.
We would love you to come and share it with us. The DT have all found something new for their cards to inspire you, so would love you to come along and play with us this week.

You do not have to have a DS4J image, but would love you to use one if you have. You would then get a chance at the main prize, of $10 of  digi images, but you DO have to use an image of some kind to enter. Look forward to seeing lots of 'new' entries.

For my card this week I have used a new digi drawn by Riette our NEW artist at DS4J.
Riette is also a member of the DT, and this was the first image she drew for us. It can be found HERE

Hubby and I have decided to retire and we will be leaving our home of almost 49 years, and packing up my craft business of 20 years. What a task!!!
We are moving to a retirement village and our new home will be ready in 2 to 3 weeks, but a little bit of a hiccup in the selling of our old one means that we will move over slowly over a period of a few weeks. Fortunately it is only about 10kms away, so daily trips will be the order of the day. We will also be able to start the new garden, as it is now coming into spring....looking forward to a very exciting time. Now on to my card. I have made a 'new home' card...no surprise there.

 

I used kraft card for the 1st layer.

I then embossed my tree - I need to find out whose folder this is. Coloured the tree with distress inks and added some light clouds in the background.

The image is 'Birdhouse' coloured with distress inkpads and cut out. Mounted with silicone.

The fence and larger birds are Marianne Design dies.

The smaller birds are Memory box

Butterflies, used a Nellie Snellen punch

Sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped onto an Xcut label, mounted with butterfly brads.

Added some Pontura pearlmaker for the flower centres and bird eyes.

Absolutely August...New colour challenge at The Outlawz.

Greetings friends for this month of August,
Today is the first colour challenge for this month with the Absolutely August twists.


Laurian has chosen the colour palette, inspirational photo and twist for this week, and she has asked us all to 'go dotty' with our cards.



The DT have made such gorgeous cards with these colours and twist, so for some inspiration do go and have a look at what they have to show.

Our sponsor for this month is again the well loved Bugaboo Stamps and most of the DT have used one of their images.


Here is my card.


Recipe:

Paper - Cardstock, coloured it with Pan Pastels in Lavender.
Patterned paper - Pretty Paper Bloc - French roses  by Marianne Designs, cut the edge with a MD die.

Image - Fancy Umbrellas 1 from Baugaboo and you can find it HERE. Coloured it with Distress inkpads, added a touch of Twinkling H20's to the flowers with a bit of glitter, and some bling for the flower centres. Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die.
Sentiment -  I think it is a Hero Arts stamp
Finished off with seam binding and pearls.

YAY!!! It's Freebie Friday

Yes it is the beginning of another month and it is Friday...that means a freebie at Digistamps4Joy
