Midway challenge #76 at Digistamps4Joy

Good morning blogging friends.
Firstly I had some new followers that I haven't welcomed. I am so pleased you have joined my friends list and hope to se you pop in often. I do appreciate all the visits and comments that you leave.






 This is my card for  challenge #76 that Margaret is hosting at Digistamps4Joy



She has challenged us to use some colours from the inspirational photo and also for a twist to add ribbon or twine. You still have a week to enter for some lovely prizes. You don't have to have a DS4J image, so hurry over and see the lovely cards made by both teams and come and join in the fun.

Here is what I used:
I made a sidestep card using the following images

Misteri - baker. You can find it HERE
Cupcakes galore that you can find HERE. Coloured them with distress inkpads, cut out and added 3D Pontura to the cupcakes, also glossy accents to the cake stand  to look like glass. I don't think it shows up so well though.

Paper...The orange stripey/floral is from my stash. The blue I made by stamping cupcakes and using pan pastels to colour it.
Sentiments...printed the one on my computer and the round one is from Country Crafts a local company.
Added twine to finish.

Distressing at the colour challenge

Good morning all,
Today we are having a holiday in South Africa...Heritage day...You can celebrate your Heritage in many ways, but many do it in a fun way and it is now also called "National Braai day" South Africans from all walks of life, whatever culture or colour, all seem to enjoy a 'good old braai'...(barbecue), so hence the day has become known for getting together and celebrating with family, friends, colleagues over a lovely meal with a fire and a good piece of meat.

Our second son also celebrates his birthday today, so more cause for having a good family celebration, which we will do over lunch

.

Now onto my card for this week's colour challenge at The Outlawz .


This is what I used on my card:

Paper...Embossed the cardstock and distressed it with walnut stain, The coloured paper cut with an X-cut die.

Image is coloured with distress inkpads, cut out with a die  and the edges inked with Vintage photo.

Flower is a Joy flower die, edges are distressed and inked.

Finished off with buttons and a sentiment.

The lovely colour palette was chosen by Penny, with the twist to add sponging or distressing.

Any artists around?? ...Digistamps4Joy has one today.

Happy Sunday friends,
Not anything like a spring day here today. It is a grey, windy, cold day here in my part of SA,  ideal for doing some work in my crafting corner. I had great plans for yesterday, but all was thrown out the door due to an 18hr power outage...oh boy! does that play havoc with one's plans. At least I had some images printed, but of course not the ones that I really needed to work on...like this one....hence my card being a bit late.

Today as usual there are a number of new releases in the Digistamps4Joy store and if you hop over to the blog, you will be able to see the lovely inspirational cards made by some of DT...really gorgeous. The image I have used is another in Jen's lovely Misteri range....Misteri the artist.

I have coloured the image with Distress inkpads, cut it out and mounted onto a Marianne Creatable die.
The DP is from my stash
The sentiment was printed on my pc.
Finished off with twine and a charm.

Tuesday colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
Where did the weekend go...Tuesday already and time for another colour challenge at The Outlawz.

This week our inspirational photo and twist were chosen by Lindsay with the twist to add an animal.

For my card I have use the image "ewe and me" and you can find it HERE

 

 I think I might send this card to my 2 granddaughters in New Zealand, as I do miss them. They have some sheep on their small farm and also a pet lamb that they hand raised.

 

I kept the card fairly simple .

Paper... Black cardstock, green embossed cardstock, sanded.

 A green brad and some ric-rac.

Sentiment was computer generated.

Digistamps4Joy - new release special !!!

Happy Sunday, friendly bloggers.
Today we have a very special new release at Digistamps4Joy Jen Lee one of our artists has drawn her 500th image for the store...what an achievement. Congratulations Jen!!! We look forward to many more gorgeous images.

Midway challenge #75....Digistamps4Joy... Inspired by the 60's

Happy Wednesday everyone,
How has the week been so far.....I feel like I have had a whole week behind me already, but today is a rather special day as my hubby and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. 48 years..WOW..seems like just the other day. Nothing much planned today, just a pretty normal day, but maybe tonight a special glass of wine with our feet up...sounds really good to me.

Today is the midway reminder for challenge #75 at Digistamps4Joy..Inspired by the 60's  Riette is hosting this challenge and she has some lovely pictures of the 60's...remember ..Twiggy, the moon landing, the big sunglasses, mini skirts, ...and of course we got married slap bang in the middle of that decade....

 The DT have made some really lovely cards for inspiration and you can see them  HERE I used the image "flower power" and it is available at the STORE together with a whole lot of other suitable images.

You do not have to use a DS4J image, but of course if you do you will have an extra chance in the draw. The freebie last weekend, Moon landing is ideal for this challenge, so if you managed to collect it, why not give it a go.

I have my eye on you.....Outlawz colour challenge

Hello friends,
Firstly I would like to welcome my new followers. I love having you come and visit and hope you will be back often. Please leave me some comments, I so enjoy reading them.

Today it is once again the colour challenge at The Outlawz. This is the lovely colour palette and inspirational photo that we were given by our Teamie Ina. The twist is to make it a masculine card.

It is quite a simple card actually.






Image is coloured with distress ink pads. matted onto the 3 coloured cardstocks.

Einstein wannabee???

Hello dear friends,
It is a beautiful spring morning  and as I sit here typing this the birds are going absolutely crazy out in the garden. A wonderful start to the day.
Yesterday had a very noisy afternoon, with our grandson having his 5th birthday party and 10 little 5/6year olds running around making as much noise as possible, but it was great to be part of it and then return home to a quiet evening.

It is once again new release day at  Digistamps4Joyand as usual some stunning digis. The one I chose to work with is 'Einstein wannabee' by Margy.
If you go over to the  BLOG you will see lovely cards made by the DT...they really are stunning.

Here is how I did it.

Paper...created my own background by inking the embossing folder and putting it through open not closed. The embossing is not very deep, but the colour is there.
Image..Einstein wannabe...coloured with distress inks and the jacket is paper pieced, then cut with a cutting die. Added glossy accents on his glasses.
Sentiment...computer generated
Metal charm with twine.

A freebie at DS4J

Good morning and a happy Friday friends.

Can you believe the first Friday of September is here and that means a lovely new free image from Digistamps4Joy....called "Moon Walk".

You will need to go to the  SHOP to get it. If you don't have an account, which is so easy to open, just get one done, but you pay nothing as it is FREE.

The very good news is, that if you get this digi, then you can use it to enter the current challenge #75...60's Inspiration.   So best you get over there and collect your image.

I coloured the image with Distress inks, the background with chalks added some Glossy Accents to his space helmet.
The paper is from a piece I had for ages, October Afternoon 'Rocket Age".
The dark blue has been embossed with stars.

Well the weekend is on our doorstep. A busy one for me as I am having my 2 'little monsters' Dylan and Jayden for a sleepover tonight and tomorrow it is Jayden's 5th birthday party. His birthday is on Tuesday, so I guess tomorrow evening will be feet up with a glass of vino.

Butterflies, easels and.....

Happy Wednesday blogging friends.
To day just 2 simple easel cards. Looking through Pinterest I saw an easel card similar to this and was so inspired.

Yesterday I had a workshop at Country Crafts and the ladies made this easel, all in white with a touch of colour.

Here is what I used:
Joy.. Vintage flourishes6003/0023
Joy/Noor design..Butterfly border 6002/0251
Patterned paper
Acetate
Embossing folder
Pleated ribbon
Peel-offs, beads and a touch of glitter
I also made one in colour, using a paper bloc from Joycrafts, with all the same dies as the white one.

I certainly enjoyed doing these and will enter them in some challenges.

Tuesday is colour day at The Outlawz.

Guest Design spot...Anything but a card

Good morning friends,
To day I have something other than a card to share. A few weeks ago I was a winner at  Lexi's Creations, and I was honoured to be invited as a Guest Designer for this week's challenge....Anything but a card.

I chose the lovely image of Sammie Snowman, so decided to make a gift packet. These always come in handy over the festive season.

I coloured the image with distress ink pads.
Added texture paste for the fur on the hat,
3D pearl maker for the buttons, and crystal glaze on the eyes.
Crystal ice glitter on the snow
I cut out snowflakes with a CB die added some glitter to these and attached them to the paper packet. Finished off with a red ribbon.
I also made a tag, but just realised this is hanging at the back of the packet...silly me!

I do hope you will go over and have a look at the lovely projects that have been made by the ladies of the DT, and I am sure you can make something for this challenge.

Party and blog candy

Good evening all,
The first day of September, can you believe it. Here in South Africa it is unofficially the start of spring,(it really starts on 21st),   but by now we have had enough of winter, so it sounds good to start off this month with celebrating spring....but it felt like midwinter. -4deg last night and only 15 deg today....winter!!!, but things are warming up from tomorrow...so on the way to Spring.





My lovely talented blogging friend Bibiana is celebrating her first anniversary of blogging with a week long party and a wonderful candy. She has some lovely ideas, inspiration, tutorials, video..a beauty this one is,  and really stunning gifts to share . You have until 5th September to take part.
