I cut and embossed 3 butterflies using a Joycrafts die, in 3 different colours. and mounted these onto the butterflies on the image.

Finished off with 3 pearls, ribbon and a Hero Arts sentiment, also cut out with a

The colours unfortunately do not come out that well. I have used the colours specified, but will be sure to take the photo in the morning as the light is not too great in the afternoon.

I have lost a bit of time yesterday due to business but need to go and watch the videa and get on with doing the next card. Hopefully will get that posted tomorrow.

Coffee with a friend

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend and ready for another full week. My card today was an entry for a colour challenge at the Outlawz last week. We had to use dark brown, dirty cream and a touch of silver. This was my submission.

Paper.....brown cardsock, DP from
Paper Explosion....True memories, coffee dots.
Image... I picked this up at a sale in the Netherlands a few years back, and it has no name on it. The sentiment comes from the same range. Coloured the cup, and used Glossy Accents on it. Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD.
The corners were cut with a Cuttlebug die, ribbon from my stash and the touch of silver was a small spoon charm.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, and will try and get back soon.

Something for the chefs

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend whatever you may be doing. My card today, was with Father's day in mind, but I really needed a card for a birthday, so decided on this one. My BIL does enjoying having a BBQ, or as South Africans will know it as a good old "braai". Last year we had a swap with some of our local card group and this was one of the cards that was made.
Paper: brown cardstock, matted with DP from a pad of Kaisercraft "Le Chateau" The pocket in the front was again the brown card and some more of the same range of DP.
I stiched all round with my sewing machine...no thread and the glove and utensil were just cut out of scraps of paper. The inside is finished with a small envelope for a gift card.
Sentiment is from a local company... Country crafts and stamps
That's it from me,
Have a wonderful weekend.

Wedding Card

Happy Monday to my friends, and welcome to new friends that have joined. Love to have you visit. I ssaw on the Whiff of Joy site there is some Candy, "Wedding candy" in fact. All you have to do is show the most beautiful wedding card you have made, using a WOJ image. I remembered this card that I made for my nieces wedding in Nov, 2009, before I was blogging, so it is the first time I have it on here.
It is an easel card, made with WOJ image and coloured in aquarelle pencils. I used flower soft, and the DP was a sheet I found with lovely white and silvery embossed design. Don't know whose it was, as I didn't keep a note of these things in my earlier card making days.
Hope you all have a great week.

A card just for you

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend, and I know for some it will be a long weekend. We are in for a little warmer weather, no cold wind today, so it should be quite pleasant as there is sunshine.
My card to day was made for a challenge in my Scorpal group. A centre step card. I enjoyed this and will use it more often. Really easy. I had this Maggie coloured, but don't know her name. She is just so lovely.

This is what I used.
Paper.... White cardstock. DP ...from Wilson & Macglagan, I bought at our local CNA, at a good price. A whole pack of 20 sheets with lovely co-ordinating colours. The bottom was punched with a border punch and some stickles on the little hearts. Used my scorpal for all the scoring of course.
Image... Magnolia coloured with distress inkpads, added some stickles to the hearts and frosted lace to her lace frill. Cut out with a Nelli Snellen MFD
Flourishes cut with a Marianne die
Flower punched with a Nellies floral punch and a small rose for the centre.
Image... Whiff of Joy cut with the Nellie die and mounted with a ribbon.
A little pink heart brad to finish off.
Wishing you all a very happy Penticost weekend.

In need of sunshine

Good afternoon fellow bloggers from a freezing cold, wet, windy, overcast South Africa, here in our area at least. We had pouring rain yesterday, thunder and lightning, and we hardly ever have rain in our summer rainfall area. It was welcome for the garden, but it has been very cold today, hence my card.
I made this for a PCP group ... a card for summer. Well for me summer is bright sunshine and spending time in the garden. Here is what I did.

Paper... White cardstock, matted DP .. a freebie from a magazine.
Image... Digital image from Isabella's Sketchbook. Coloured with aquarelle pencils. I printed 2 images and cut out the flower pots from the second one, coloured these with Twinkling H2O's and mounted them on 3D tape. I cut the image out with a nestie, coloured the edges,
Made corners and mounted butterflies punched with a Nellie Snellen punch and embossed.
Sentiment... Hero arts.
It certainly made me think of summer and pretty flowers while doing this.
Warm wishes and enjoy your Friday, as it is soon weekend.

Award Received

Goodday friends. Hope you are all having a great start to the week. I received this award from my blogging friend Melissa "Sunshine Honey Bee". Thank you Melissa. I now have to tell you 5 things about myself, of which one must be craft related.

1. I have just become the owner of a Cricut Expression, and am not sure yet whether I really like it or not. So am making a very big effort to try and become familiar with it, but a bit frustrating at times.
2. Used to make chocolates, from my home based business.
3. Love spending holidays in the mountains
4. Enjoy having a good glass of red wine in the evenings.
5. My grandchildren are very special, and enjoy spending time with them when I can.

I am now supposed to pass this onto 5 of my blogging friends. I wouldn't like to single out anyone, so would like to invite you to please take this, and to pass it on.
Enjoy your week and hopefully see you soon.

Anything but a card

Hurrah!! Weekend. Hope you will all be enjoying a lovely weekend. Here it is still cool, but a lovely sunny weekend forecast, so maybe a little bit of gardening time, mainly tidying up.
Firstly I want to thank my new friends following my blog. I do appreciate you visiting and love your comments.
Today I have made a corner bookmark for my challenge entry at
Sentimental Sundays as the challenge was for anything but a card. I enjoy making these bookmarks, as they slip inside a card very nicely for a small gift.
Paper ... Pink cardstock and DP from My minds eye, came as a free gift in a magazine.
Sentiment.... Sentimental Sundays, printed from the computer and cut with a Nellie Snellen die. Added some colour with distress ink pads.
Finished off with a flourish.... Marianne Designs and pearls
I don't usually put any flowers on as I find this creates too much bulk, when using it as a bookmark.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Today we are having some family time. Doing a walk with our 2 grandsons at their nursery school and then off to watch our eldest granddaughter in a horse show, jumping and dressage. So a good outdoor day, thankfully the temp should be about 18deg C.

Hello Friend

Hello friends,
I visited my friend Joan at Country Crafts earlier this week and picked up this embossing folder, which I thought was just too lovely. So I had to give it a try and decided to make a card for The Outlawz greeting challenge this week.

Paper.. white card, matted blue.
Embossing folder .... Woodland Folk by Docrafts ... coloured with Distress ink pads
Image ... Whiff of Joy ... coloured with aquarelle pencils, cut out and placed under the tree.
Punched out flowers and 3D them onto the embossed flowers with a pearl centre.
I think I will use this embossing folder quite often.
Not long to the weekend, have fun and see you soon.

A card this time

I did say I would try and be back with another posting. I finished this card this morning and I want to enter it into 3 challenges.
Dutch Card Lover's No 93 There is a sketch to work from and a choice. I have used Die cuts, flowers and glitter.
Crafting for all seasons ... Anything goes
Paper play challenge..Blossoms and blooms

My card was made from one I saw a while back, but can't remember where. (I must remember to make a note of these things)
I used a cream shimmer base card.
The double sided DP doesn't have a name... I cut a scollped edge on the right and folded it over, cutting away the base card, so the inside is visible.
I made the flowers with punches, and Marianne design dies. The flourishes are from Crealies dies.
The images stamped on the inside are from Hero Arts stamps, as is the sentiment.
I added pearls and glittered the flourishes.
Left blank space on the inside, with a flourish for the message.
That's it from me for today. Enjoy the rest of the week.

June calendar page

Happy Wednesday bloggers.
It is a cold winter morning here in South Africa, no wind but freezing. the temp as I type this is -1degree and it is now 6.30. the max. forecast today is 13 deg, but at least the sun will be shining. Enough of the weather forecast. LOL
Can you believe the first day of June, we will soon have to start thinking of Christmas!!
I have another calendar page for today. This was made by Sylvia from our stamping group. It has a very warm African look to it.
Have a wonderful day, downhill to the weekend. Will be back later, I hope with a card.
