Forty winks,Day dreaming... Bedtime?

Hi bloggers. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Here in this part of SA the winter has arrived, so definitely indoors weather.
This card I made with one of my new Lily of the Valley stamps. I am entering it in 2 challenges. LOTV have a sketch by Bev to follow and at Teddy Stampers the theme is "Bedtime" Now I don't know if this one qualifies, but this teddy is definitely having a lovely sleep in his deckchair, so here's hoping.
Used white cardstock and matted DP papers from Funky Hand's new CD. The yellow strip of mesh was cut with the cuttlebug and matted a dark blue nestability onto this.

Image is from LOTV coloured with watercolour pencils.

Sentiment is from the new WOJ storekit "1001 nights"

Cut a blue star with the cuttlebug and added a button.

I visited Paola during the week and came away with a whole lot of new stamps that I can't wait to try. Yesterday I downloaded some papers from Bearly Mine Designs who are having a sale, so now I just need someone to tell me where I can get some more time, and then I will be happy.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope you have a very good week.
Warm wishes from South Africa

Boxes

I belong to a group started by Kitty Frankel, making boxes She designs some really lovely little gift boxes with the scorpal. If you like to do these go on over to Kitty's Craft where she has lots of templates and ideas.

I made these for various gifts, and have put a small handmade soap or something similar in. They are such fun to do and so quick and easy if you have a scorpal. (Just LOVE mine)
Have a great Sunday everyone, We have a beautiful crisp blue sky today, not too cold. Winter is hanging out there somewhere, but that is OK, not in a hurry for it.

Happy Birthday

Last week was PolkaDoodles challenge blog's birthday. The challenge was to make a birthday card using their free download papers. (Lovely bundle, especially for men with father's day ahead)
I made a gate fold card, using their paper. The sentiment is from my Justrite set and the wording inside (which unforunately isn't visible, is from the free download.) I tried to take a photo of the inside but the message is behind the nestability cutout.
It is a rather plain card, but it is meant for a man, and they don't usually like "fussy"
Hoping you are having a relaxing Saturday.
Be back soon

DAD

There is a new group on PCP called ABC(Anything but cute) and the first challenge is for a masculine card. This is what I submitted.

Used a green cardstock, run through the cuttlebug, matted onto card.
Image is from Crafty Individuals, stamped with versafine onyx black onto cork, which I gently tore into a rectangle. Attached this with brads to brown cardstock.
The sentiment is from my Justrite set and stamped onto a cuttlebug die cut leaf, distressed with walnut stain distress ink.
3 small buttons to finish it off.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and get to do what ever you enjoy doing.

More Alphabet ATC's

Here are the next three letters of my alphabet ATC swap. N is for No. 9
O for Owl and P for present.
I think it was more of a challenge to find an image for the letter, and amazing to see the ingenuity of how some participants matched an image to a letter.
Looking forward to the next three letters, and am already trying to find words for Q,R and S.

Isabella's challenge

Talk about in the nick of time. This is my card for the challenge this week. We had to use the colours in the Isabella's blog header. They really are lovely colours and this is how I used them.

I matted a lilac cardstock onto white card. Punched the corners. The lilac card is a lot darker on the photo, as I had to use a flash, not getting it finished in time.
The image is one that I was lucky enough to win with the last challenge, and I just love it as there is so much to do with it. I coloured it with aquarelle pencils and used flower soft for the climbing roses.
The sentiment is from my recently acquired Justrite set.
Finished it off with pearls.
Hope you like it and see you soon.

Hope I matched the colours of tthe header.

New! New! New!

This is a card I made for Teddy stampers challenge, this week. I followed the sketch which our own Sharon had designed as well as using the colours brown, blue pink and yellow.

Now the NEW parts. I was very lucky to win the challenge over at Isabella's sketchbook last week. http://isabellaschallenge.blogspot.com/ and the image for this card was one of two that I chose.

Another New is the sentiment stamp. I have for the first time used one of my Justrite stamps that I recently purchased. Am going to enjoy using these.

The last New, is not really new, but a first. I coloured my teddies for the first time with distress inks. Have seen how Kim does her colouring and am trying very hard to get there. I did also use some tombows for the other colours.

I finished it off with 2 buttons for the blue and pink and also cut a strip with the cuttlebug.

I really enjoyed making this one and hope you like it too. Enjoy the weekend and see you soon.

ATC' swap "brads"

This was an ATC swap with the theme "Brads". I had these lovely little dragonfly brads, so decided to use this stamp of the dragonfly to go with it.

Cardstock turquoise matted onto it a white card distressed with old paper distress ink. Stamped the part of the image with the dragonfly and words onto it.The stamp is quite a large one, from a local company "Great impressions". Coloured with twibnkling H2o's to give the shimmer of the wings. attached the brads and Done. This was a dream to make.

Half way through the week today. Hope you are having a good one. Sun shining here and beautiful deep blue sky.

See you soon.

All work and very little play!!

Well no cards here. This is the last of a couple of big orders that have kept me from card making the last few weeks. This is part of an order for 300 ceramic rings that we made and I painted. They have a groove at the back, where aroma oils are dropped into and then either placed over light bulbs or hung with a ribbon in cupboards or placed in drawers. for the fragrance. These will be delivered tomorrow and then I can try and catch up on all sorts of things that have been put aside.
Have a great week everyone.

Happy Mother's day - new challenge

This is a card I made for the Isabella's sketchbook challenge. Heard about it from Sharon a SA blogging friend who is on the DT, Thanks for the freebie on their blog, which enabled me to enter.
Cardstock white, onto this I matted a DP from the Funky Hand "Dreams come true" selection. I cut the image with a nestability, matted onto s another lilac nestie.
The digi image was coloured with twinkling H2o's
Organza ribbon, and some pearls to finish off.
Computer generated sentiment.

I made this card for my Mother-in-law. A dear lady who will be 98 in July. She is still in perfect health, just having a problem with her memory. She lives in her own cottage in a retirement village, still plays piano daily, does all her own cooking and baking. Usually will have home baked cookies, or something with coffee. Even bakes once a month for a fund raising cake sale at her village. Last week walked 3km for a fundraiser to extend their facilities at the village. Quite a remarkable lady.

I wish all Mother's a wonderful day and for those of us who aren't lucky enough to have mothers around or have children in far away countries, hope you have a lovely day. Not to forget all those who aren't able to be Mom's or have lost children wishing you a peaceful day with much love.
See you soon again.

ATC "Time"

We had a ATC challenge on our RSA group. The theme was "Time". I used a brown cardstock, matted onto it a cream paper distressed with "old paper" distress ink.
The image was an unmounted stamp, sorry don't know whose it is. I stamped it very lightly all over the paper and then stamped with black and covered it with crystal glaze. Attached two clock hands. The saying was computer printed.
That's me for tonight. Have a wonderful weekend where ever you may be. I think we are in for some sunshine.

Greetings from Africa

Happy Friday everybody. Again another week has whizzed by and not much card making done. This is a birthday card I made. Still into the paper folding mode. This is Iris folding and quite easy when once the technique is mastered. I used the map of Africa as I was sending this to my son in The Netherlands. The papers were various "african print" that I had over from decoupaging. I though it was quite effective. I have a few more paper folding cards, just to finish off. Hopefully this weekend, will give me time to do some challenges. I wish you all a great weekend.

Easel Card

I can't believe that it is over a week with no posting. Just too much work and no play. I have been blog hopping a bit in my spare moments and seen some awesome cards.
This card I made for a challenge at a "Wish" meeting (A card group we get together every 2 months or so). The theme was an easel card for a male.

I used navy card stock.
The DP papers were pieces, so don't have the name, but I think it was from a local company Fabscraps.

The image and sentiment "birthday mail" are from WOJ, coloured with watercolour pencils.
Used some buttons and made a small envelope for the sentiment to come out of.

I must say I do enjoy making easels as they are really quick and easy.

Hopefull towards the end of this coming week, there will be light at the end of the tunnel, and maybe can get to some challenges.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
