Midway, challenge 59 @ DS4J...Anything goes

Hello bloggers,
I am making up for yesterday's no show and having two today. This is the second week of the Anything goes challenge at Digistamps4Joy. Please remember if you enter with a DS4J image you have an extra chance, but you don't have to have one to enter. There are some awesome cards made by the DT for your inspiration, so I invite you to go and have a look.
Here is the card I made for this challenge, using the image Celebrity Celia.



I coloured the image with distress inks, papers were from my stash. The banner is a Memory box die, and I used peel-off letters for the name. Robyn...is my granddaughter who had a birthday this month.The sentiment is from a new set by Country crafts, I added a heart button and some bling to the circles on the paper...I had to add some, as all girls love bling... For the first time I even did some machine stitching round the card. This time my sewing machine was happy to co-operate.

Friendship at The Outlawz colour challenge

Good morning friends,
I am not sure what happened to yesterday, and for that matter to January...just 2 days left of this month. I am a day late posting this as the new colour challenge at The Outlawz started yesterday.





 


This week Teresa chose the colour palette and inspirational photo, with the twist....friendship. I loved the colours and the twist, so here is what I did.


The papers are from my stash. The stamp 'friends' is from Crafty Individuals which I cut with an X-cut die and inked around the edges.
Ribbon, flowers, pearls and a beaded pin finish it all off.

Once upon a time.......there were new images

Good morning friends,
Happy Sunday, hope everyone is having a good weekend, indoors in the cold weather or outdoors in the HOT weather. Fortunately for us, today the forecast is a little cooler with only 27deg, and tomorrow even a bit less, so a respite from the very high temps.

Today we have new images at Digistamps4Joy and they are all fabulous. Something there for everyone, so go and have a look and there are lovely cards made by the DT for your inspiration. I was a bit late with my card, but here it is.

I decided to go with an easel card this time, using the image Ronnie Reader. I coloured it with distress inks, and paper pieced the armchair. I used paper from the Forever friends range ...The good life. The book is a Marianne Design die, I cut several pages stamped with a script stamp and for the top page made up a story, using the ships theme from the paper. Finished off with a sentiment stamp, twine and a charm.

The Outlawz...Colour challenge

Good morning blogging friends,
After 3 days of almost non stop drizzle and rain over the weekend, we are having some lovely bright sunshine to dry everything out.  At least the gardens are rejoicing and the lawns are lovely and  green.

Tuesday is the  colour challenge at The Outlawz and this week we have a very bright palette chosen by Roxann, with a lovely inspirational photo, with the twist being "don't be square"...Make a square card or project.



There are some wonderful cards made by the DT for your inspiration, so please go over and have a look then come and join us. We are seeing some really lovely and original cards in our weekly challenges.

I have made a square card, using just a strip of DP in the 3 colours. I stamped my cardstock with a flourish in cranberry ink. Cut and embossed a shape with a Nestability and put it through the Cuttlebug. Cut a tag for the sentiment and punched a heart in it. Added a big bow with a button and some twine. Making the card was quite quick, choosing the colours took a little longer.

Midway challenge 58..My how time flies

Good morning on this hump day,
Another beautiful day, had some rain yesterday evening, but a lot of wind also....
Today is a reminder of the halfway mark for challenge 58 at Digistamps4Joy....Oh my... how time flies.
When making my card I thought of my young grandson starting BIG school today. It seems like just yesterday he was that tiny baby...spending his first weeks in an incubator, and now ready to tackle the big wide world of school.....yes! how time flies.

I used 'backback Bro' for my main image, coloured with watercolour pencils and cut out with X-cut nesting dies, and on the background I used 'naptime'. I put the card through the cuttlebug with my new  Couture Creations embossing folder..'workshop', as it had clock parts on it. Computer generated sentiment, and brads to finish off.

Butterflies on the Outlawz colour challenge

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday,
We are having some really lovely summer days, clear blue skies in the early morning and the heat of the day is not yet on us, so it is just so beautiful out there......but not much rain..at least not in our area.

Today is another  colour challenge
at The Outlawz and this time it was the choice of Laurian with this beautiful inspirational photo, and the twist to add fibres.




For my entry I used the sketch from Paper Craft Planet. Just something different from the usual square card.

The paper was from a selection of Joy crafts...Happy Bloc's and the butterflies were punched with Nellie Snellen punches from the same range of papers.
Sentiment is computer generated, attached my fibre under the butterfly. Finished off with a few pearls.

New releases today at DS4J

Good morning and a happy Sunday to you all,
I hope you are all enjoying the weekend, and keeping warm where it's cold and snowy, and keeping cool if you are in Southern Africa, or any other of the hot areas.
Today, as is usual on Sundays there are some new releases at Digistamps4Joy. I invite you to go and have a look at the lovely new images and also the cards made by the other DT ladies for inspiration.

I have used Catherine by JenLee for my card, making a side step card for a change. I coloured the image with distress inks and added frosted lace to the frill on her skirt.Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD, mounted over a Noor design diecut. For the embellishments I used a variety of diecuts from Noor, Marianne Design, Joycrafts, and Nellie Snellen. Added some pearls, paper flowers, beads and ribbon. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Birthday girl

Hello friends,
Wednesday..halfway through the week and well into the first full week of 2013. I am sure by now everyone has already forgotten about the holidays and are looking at what's coming next.

The new challenge at Digistamps4Joy
starts to day..."Oh my...how time flies". Team A have some incredibly awesome cards for you and team B..includes me...will show you some inspiration next week.
I have a card today made with a newly released image from Digistamps4Joy called Country Bride.
You can find her HERE. I decided that my card was for a birthday..so I called her "Birthday Girl" If you have a look at the challenge blog, you can see some more inspirational cards from the DT using this and some other new releases.

The DP was from Joycrafts ..Blooming Rose..I used my NEW MD Creatable corner die.
The image was coloured with distress inks, and a bit of glitter added. A Memory box die, heart with sentiment, flowers with a glitter brad centre,  ribbon and some pearls. It turned out a little bit softer than I had intended, but fairly pleased.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning all,
I hope you have all settled into the routine of normal life after the holidays, and been doing some crafting if you had a break.

 This week I was the lucky one to choose the colours and photo inspiration for the  colour challenge at The Outlawz, using 2 shades of blue and  the twist...to add texture.

I went with a Centre step card this week. I haven't made one of these in a while, and looking at the picture it made me think of winter. Maybe I was longing for a bit of cooler weather as we are having some very hot days of temps between 30 and 32 deg.C

The papers I used are from Leanecreatief..Winter design..snow. For my twist I used texture paste to create snowflakes on the dark blue cardstock.

The image is from Digistamps4Joy...ice skates. Added some extra snowflakes,with glitter,
The sentiment is computer generated.

Freebie Friday at DS4J

Good morning friends,
Well it is the first Friday of the month so that means a FREEBIE!!! and it is a super one called Celebrate, just perfect for all occasions, and even male cards. If you go over to the Digistamps4Joy   shop it is available for 2 days, so hurry over and don't miss out.

Here is my card using the freebie.

I coloured the bottle with Twinkling H20's and I used a gold paper wrapper from a Ferroro Rocher chocolate, cut out with an X-cut die. The corners are from a Noor design die, trimmed shorter, and a gold ribbon to match.
This is such a versatile digi that can be used for a number of different occasions.

First colour challenge for 2013

Good morning friends,
It has arrived 2013. I would like to wish all my friends all over the world a very happy new year. My wish is that this year you may experience more of the good things from the past year. More joy, happiness, peace, love and good health and of course more inspiration and crafting and more time to do it all.

Being Tuesday it is the colour challenge at The Outlawz and the first challenge for this year, so come and join us.

The colour palette and inspirational photo with the twist being to add twine were chosen by Roxann and she is also offering a $15 gift certificate from OOzak as the prize for this month.

There are wonderful cards made by the other DT members for you to get some inspiration from.


My card is quite a simple CAS one.
I sort of chose the sentiment when I saw the DP with the stars and the rest flowed from there. I used a Marianne design die for the large star, and a computer generated sentiment, with a button and twine to finish off.
