Yikes, June is fast drawing to an end and then the 2nd half of a busy year is upon us. But first HOT OFF THE PRESS NEWS. Have you checked out the 2000 member party at The Outlawz yet???? NO..........

I needed a card for the daughter of a student who passed away last week. Millie was 'only 88' those were her words...and she always said, "There is too much to do to be getting old". She joined ceramic painting classes and card making at 80, as she had not yet done any of those things before. What a wonderful lady.

Where in the World Party at The Outlawz

Happy Sunday to everyone,

Well finally THE day  has arrived for the start of the Big Celebration of 2000 members. There is so much happening at The Outlawz  this week, with great challenges, games, blog hops, you name  it ....you will have to go and look for yourself,,,,and the prizes....you have never seen anything like it before.  You do need to be a member to take part , so hop on over and join up and have fun
 There are also so many beautiful cards by all the members of the DT. you could have a world tour of inspiration...I urge you to join in the fun.  I will watch out for you....

At the Colour Challenge this week we have made cards showcasing where we hail from..country, province, state... I have made a card showing just a little bit of my lovely country and of the colourful people that inhabit it.

 We have many different tribes of indigenous people and one of them is the Ndebele, who come from the northern part of the country.....in fact just north of Johannesburg.
They are known for the beautifully decorated homes and dresses of the women. The beadwork of the women is so elaborate, that many of the garments and bangles can only be removed by destroying them, and the heavy rings around the feet and neck remain there for most of their lives.
The women do most of the work and the decorations on their houses are done by hand.
I have also used the colours of the flag as background to all my papers, and on the front, some animal print paper depicting the wild life that South Africa is famous for..especially the Big 5, much sought after for tourists to the Game Parks.

 I have used images from Digistamps4Joy..Ndebele house and woman, coloured with Distress inks and aquarelle pencils. I have used beads for the bangles on the woman's legs and head band..not sure they show up too well...I coloured the embossing folder before putting the paper through, and used some texture paste for the sand in front of the house.

I finished it off with a poem on South Africa which describes so much of the beauty of our country. I hope you enjoyed this little trip to South Africa.

Happy Anniversary. at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Wednesday to my blogging friends.
Midweek and almost mid Winter/Summer depending on where you are..and the reaction will probably be Hurrah!!! or OH NO!!!. We have been having some cold days the last week, but still not the cold frosty nights..I am sure they will be here soon.

I would like to say a warm welcome to my new followers....thank you for joining my little family of friends and hope you do find some inspiration on your visits.

Today it is the turn of the B team at Digistamps4Joy to showcase the cards for our new challenge....The theme is ...Happy Anniversary/Vintage.

This is what I came up with

The paper came from a block of Joy Crafts...Blooming Rose

Image is Flower Heart and you can find it Here  I coloured it with a combination of Aquarelle pencils, Distress inks and Twinkling H20's, cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die then mounted on foam tape.

Sentiment is computer generated and cut with an X-cut label.

Finished off with lace, ribbon and pearls, for the vintage look.

The other memebers of the DT have made some really lovely cards for your inspiration, so go and have a look and then show us your creations. The prize is a whopping $10 worth of digis...now that's something to make your creative juices flow. We would of course love you to use a DS4J image, but you can enter even if you don't have one.....So now... what's stopping you???

Colour challenge and Party at The Outlawz

Hope all is well with everyone. As it is Tuesday, there is another Colour Challengehappening at The Outlawz,

This week Guylou chose this gorgeous photo inspiration with great colours,
 and a twist of 'something with wings'

Here is the card I have made.

I have used a stepper card. The image is  Ashleigh from Digistamps4Joy, coloured with Distress inkpads, and glitter added. Cut it out with an X-cut nesting die.
The paper is from a paper block by Art Talents.

The butterfly and flower were cut with Joy and Marianne Design dies.

The big news is that we are having a PARTY at The Outlawz..celelbrating 2000 members. It starts on Sunday 24 June and goes on till Saturday 30 June.  The theme is "Where in the World"....we would love to see where all the members hail from...countries, provinces, states, wherever......so to get all the details have a look HERE and really hope to see you all join in. Digistamps4Joy... challenge.#43..Anything but a card for a wedding

Happy Wednesday morning friends,
Today we want to remind you of our challenge at Digistamps4Joy...June bride/Wedding...Anything but a card. Remember you still have a week to enter,  Last week you saw the cards made by team A.
I  decided to go with a gift tag in  a vintage style for this challenge. I used the image..'Freckle faced Bridal Couple', available Here,  coloured with Distress inks, cut out and mounted with 3D foam pads.
The corner die cut and the bell are Marianne Design dies, coloured with Distress inks, added some glitter and pearls and a bow to finish.
The sentiment is a Just Rite stamp.

Tuesday Colour Challenge at The Outlawz.

Tuesdays do seem to come round so fast at the moment...so here we are with another Colour Challengeat The Outlawz.

But first a very important event is happening at The Outlawz from 24 to 30 June.

We are having a party celebrating 2000 members, with games, challenges and lots of fun. The theme is WHERE IN THE WORLD, and the DT members are making depicting the countries that they are from.  See the banner on the top of my sidebar, showing the flags of the countries where our members hail from.

Scorpal..challenge card

Hello blogging friends,
It was a beautiful clear blue sky, sunny day here.....but freezing weather, a chilly biting wind blowing and a max. temp of 10deg. C.
My card today was made for a challenge on the Scorpal group...a gatefold easel card, and this was what I came up with. The photos are not the best, but in the cold and windy weather, I chose to do the photo inside, will see if I can get better ones tomorrow.

This was a nice and easy card to make, when once I had figured out the measurements, and will use it again.

A fancy fold card

Good evening friends,
The weekend has arrived and with it very cold weather forecast for the weekend. I suppose it is winter, so we shouldn't complain...but we will anyway.
The card I am showing today was made as a sample for a workshop I did a few weeks ago. It is another version of a shutter card....there are quite a few different ones out there.

I decided to use no patterned paper, but did some embossing on the inside.
The front was decorated with mainly Marianne Design dies..doily, flowers and leaves. The vintage picture is also from Marianne Design, cut out with a heart die. Added lace, metal corners, and pearls
On the inside, I used a Joy flourish die, Marianne Design corner and heart dies and added little tags cut with the Cricut.
The sentiment is a local stamp, which I stamped and then tore around the edge.Finished off with a bow and a pin and pearls.
Everybody loved it, although the folds certainly were a challenge for some.

The Outlawz....colour challenge

Good morning  friends,
I would like to say a warm welcome to my new friends that have joined. I hope you pop in often and find something that might inspire you. I also love to hear what you think of my creations.

First Tuesday of June and here at The Outlawz, as on every Tuesday another Colour chalenge.

  This week our inspirational photo and colour pallette was chosen by Lori, with the twist of adding something geometric

For this month we have a wonderful sponsor Digi Street with 3 digis for the winner.

For my card I used the digi.Toadstool Girl, which is one of several new images available from Digistamps4Joy. and I followed the sketch from Totally Gorjuss.

The DP I used is from a pad by W & M, together with Bazzill cardstock.  I cut some zig-zag lengths of both papers with a Crealies die. and added pearls.
The image I coloured with aquarelly pencils, added glitter to the wings. and cut with an Xcut die
Sentiment os from Whiff of Joy, cut with an Xcut die.

Something new at DS4J

Happy Sunday friends,
I trust you are all enjoying a lovely weekend. At Digistamps4Joy, we are releasing a number of new images amongst them are 3 from  a new artist Aisne Smith.  The card I made is using one of them... lamb with tulips

The image is coloured with Distress inkpads, cut out and mounted onto an embossed card front.

A birdhouse and bird are from Marianned Design dies, and the Sentiment from a Hero arts stamp.

I made this card to send to my granddaughter in New Zealand. On their small farm, they have just had their first baby lamb, and all she wants to do is cuddle it.....

Lucky 13

Happy Friday everyone.
Hopefully you are all as happy as I am to see the weekend in sight...and here we are with a brand new month as well. What will it bring...some more winter weather I am sure. We have so far been very lucky....not had any of the really cold nights and the days have for the most been fairly OK...but I am sure it will change soon.
Onto my card today.
I made this card for a particulare challenge at Annettes Creafarm. She is celebrating 13 years in business, and as they are dairy farmers her logo is...guess...a black and white cow.

The image I used is a fairly new one from Digistamps4Joy, called Daisy the cow, coloured it with pencils and tombows. cut it out with an Xcut die.
Used a Martha Stewart punch
Finished off with 2 black and white buttons.
