Frieda goes to town

Good evening blogging friends.
I have had a busy day with classes, so only posting my GDT card now for the OutlawzTuesday colour challenge. These were the colours we had to work with, and the  twist was add flowers.

For my card I used a digi image from Anne's cards4U Anne has some lovely froggy digital images which are free.
I coloured her with copics and then cut it out, mounted on the lilypad with foam pads. The rest of the picture I coloured with distress inks, and cut that out with a Nestibility, which I mounted over a Marianne die.
Paper: greeen cardstock and a spotted purple which was a piece, punched the corners.
Sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.
Made some flowers to put onto her hat and also for the corner of the card.
Bling for her necklace and pearls finished it all off.
Hope you all have a great week, almost half way and only 39 day to Christmas. Take care.

CDAC progressive challenge 6

Hello friends,
Hope everyone has had a good start to the week.It promises to be a very hectic one for me, so best I just get on with it.
This card is my first and also the last for this challenge, as I will only just make it again. Had hoped to do more, but all kinds of things got in the way.

The image is from  Inked Treasures and I thought it would make a lovely birthday card for my granddaughter Gabriella in New Zealand. I coloured it with Copics....still trying to use them more often.... Cut it out and mounted it onto a scalloped oval.
Design papers from Wilson & Maclagan.
Sentiment...a no name stamp and finished with a bow.
I am also entering this into the The Outlawz .....Wednesday sketch challenge.
That's it for now, have to get this into the challenge  before it closes. Will be back soon. Have a great week and take care.

Fancy fold Star

Happy Friday friends,
Today being 11/11 we remember all those that have offered up their lives through the years.
It is another scorcher of a day here in this part of South Africa. Temps of 30 plus deg. for the 3rd day and the forecast is for more of the same for the weekend....and not a drop of rain in sight. Would love to be able to share some of our heat with those that need it...LOL
My card today was one I made for a class I taught last week.I did find the idea somewhere, just lost the link, but will look for it and add it in here.

I found the link:   Stamp Owl's Studio The link to the card doesn't seem to work, so this is the link to the blog and the post for this tutorial is 8 April
It is actually not a difficult card to make, just needs acurate measuring. It went down well with the class
Here is what I used.
Paper....local cardstock, DP from the Papermania range...Blueberry Pie and some silver card for matting.
The swirls were cut from Marianne design dies. finished off with pearls and paper roses....in the class we punched out flowers and embossed and coloured them.
On the inside cut a circle with a Nellie Snellen die for the message.

I will enter this in the following challenge
Cooking with Katie...Fancy fold add some flowers

I have a number of cards for various project to complete this weekend, if I can find a cool spot to work in.
Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Outlawz colour challenge

Good evening friends.
Hope the week has been good so far. I had a great class this morning, but a frustrating afternoon, sorting out internet problems. Hopefully all is resolved.
On the Out lawz colour challenge this week we were asked to use these colours with the twist being to use gingham or houndstooth paper.

My card was made again using an image from one of the sponsors The paper shelter I coloured with distress inks cut with an oval, mounted onto a scolloped oval. Used my cuttlebug to emboss Happy birthday.
Stamped the sentiment onto a tag and mounted with gingham ribbon. Finished off with some pearls.

I will be entering it in the following challenge:
Totally Gorjuss following their sketch.

Enjoy the rest of the week. We are in for a very hot day tomorrow, temps reachinng 33deg. C.
Take care and have fun.

November.......almost at the end

Good morning friends,
A beautiful Sunday morning here, blue skies, the birds are all happy and it promises to be a lovely summery day. No rain forecast so a great day for doing all the outdoor activites that are planned.
We are almost at the end of this year as far as months go, so here is my page for November.

It was made by  Marcelle (Moz) Roberts  in Pietermaritzburg, one of my RSA group friends. She has put together a stunning page and her cards are always a pleasure to look at. You might want to pop over to her blog to have a look for yourself. She also makes the most gorgeous Teddy Bears and knitted socks.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend wherevery ou are and take care.
See you soon.

Sew cute

Good morning friends,
Happy Tuesday to you all and for those that celebrate Halloween, hope you had fun.
Well here we are with a brand new month, not many left this year......and then also some news. I was invited to be guest designer for November at The Outlaws...Tuesday colour challenge.  These are the colours to use, and the "November novelty twist"  is to use twine.
I was thrilled ...accepted of course...and here is my first card.

An actual challenge as I had to come up with my own ideas, No DT cards to guide me... Here's what I did.
Paper ...Papermania..different ranges
Image..  Cute dressmaker from The Paper Shelter     coloured with Distress inkapds I love this image, reminded me of when I was younger and my Mom helped me with making my clothes. I did some faux stitching round the edges
I didn't have any twine, but substituted some flate woven ribbon on a diecut cotton reel
Sentiment...computer generated      and finished off with three buttons.

Hope you like it..so pop over and show us what you make.  Have a great week. Now that Halloween is over, I guess it is full steam into Christmas. Take care and have fun.
