Just hang in there with The Outlawz

Good morning everyone on this the last day of March.
We are having some very unsettled weather..cool with rain one day and then piping hot the next, but I guess that is how it is with a new season, just hope we still get some rain in the next few weeks before our totally dry months are upon us.

This week at The Outlawz colour challenge the gorgeous inspirational photo was chosen by Kate and we are again giving you some options. You need to use the magenta from the palette and choose 2 other colours from the photo. You can also decide on your twist.

Our sponsor for the last time is Sweet Pea Stamps and the DT have once again excelled themselves and made such lovely cards for inspiration. I do hope you will have a chance to come and join us.

For my card I have used the image 'Hang in there kitty'.

The 2 colours from the photo are yellow and green and the twist is 'a card with more than 1 fold. I am not sure that this fold has any particular name.

The patterned paper is from my stash and the magenta paper on the inside was coloured with Pan Pastels.

The image is coloured with Distress inkpads and cut with an X-cut die.

The magenta pins are cut from a Crealies die and also coloured with Pan Pastels mounted with a small button brad. Added 2 more brads to the opposite corners

The little buttons on the inside are also diecuts.

The sentiment is a freebie from A Piece of Heart

A little quilling for Christmas

Good afternoon everyone.
I have another Christmas card to show. I am trying very hard to make my 2 Christmas cards a month for the challenge at The 12 months of Christmas link-up #3...Let it snow.
I have already entered my first card with the snowman, so this time I have done something else I enjoy and that is quilling. Making it with a day to spare.

There isn't much to say about it. The star was taken from peel-offs and the sentiment was from a set of printed sentiments that came with a paper in a magazine some time ago.

Will enter the following challenges.

A birthday card or two

Hello bloggers and a very Happy Saturday to everyone.
I  have 2 cards to show today. The first I made for a friend's birthday and the second is just a different colour, but made it as a sample for a class that I did.

I saw this card sometime back  HERE and just loved it. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact link for it, but Wenche does have some gorgeous cards to show.

The first one I made with Kaisercraft paper and the fairy cutout in the corner is from a Graphic 45 'Once upon a Springtime' range that I have used so sparingly.

The doily and the flower in the centre are Marianne Design dies.

The sentiment is also from Marianne Design.

The Flourish is from Joycrafts.

Metal corners and pearls to finish.

The second card is much the same just different papers and picture.

For this one I inked a mesh design with a stencil, just to give the paper a different look. It is a double sided paper.

I used a different Marianne Design doily .

The picture is from a vintage sheet also of Marianne design.

It is also finished with corners and a pearl.

This is such an easy card to make but very pretty.

I will enter the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar challenge...Add some metal
Fussy and Fancy challenge #135...Girly
Sister Act Card challenge #99...Anything goes

Right on track for a Progressive challenge

Happy Friday friends,
It is almost the end of another month, but first I have to get my entry into the progressive challenge at Deedee digis with this card. Using the freebie set 'Right on Track' I made this card for a little guy who will be 3 in a few weeks.

I must say I have become very lazy with Deedee's images, because there are precoloured images in the set and it is so tempting to use these, especially when you are running out of time. So as you can see I have used the birthday set which is only one of the options.

I have kept it very simple and matted the image onto teal card and used a yellow card base.
The sentiment is one from the new Marianne Design set and cut it out with a label die from X-cut.
2 brads to hold it in place. 3 large round dots on right.
Will enter the following challenges:
Deedee Designs...Progressive challenge
Aud Sentiments challenge#128...Anything goes with a sentiment

Seize the Birthday...Anything goes

That's all from me today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, doing something that you really enjoy. Have fun, take care.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Hello friends and a Happy Tuesday to you all,

This week at The Outlawz the colour challenge is one of our special challenges, where you get to decide what to do.

The inspirational photo was chosen by Ina, and you can use any aspect of it for your card.

Choose the colours and for the twist let us know what has inspired you for your card.

Our sponsor for the last time this month is Sweet Pea Stamps and the DT have made lovely cards once again using these images. We would love you to come and see what we have done for your inspiration and then have a go yourselves.

This is my card using the image Easter Daffodil and I was inspired by the eggs on the photo to make an Easter card.

The patterned paper I used is very old. It was a free download from Mad about Cards (I think they have closed) and it was dated 2007...so I have had it for a long time. I matted it onto yellow cardstock.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads cut out and mounted onto a scalloped oval that I inked with the colour from the little duck.

Sentiment is from Netty's cards She has lots of freebies, so worth a visit.

A ribbon with a bow and pearls to finish

I will enter these challenges with this card.

Three of a kind at Creative Craft Cottage.

A very good morning friends,
Happy Saturday to everyone, and today we are having a holiday here in South Africa, but it isn't quite the same having a public holiday on a Saturday.
As of yesterday we are now heading towards winter, so that is not a nice thought either, but I do love the autum days, so will enjoy them, although the temps yesterday were more like summer.

Anyway, onto the business of the day...  we have another challenge at Creative Craft Cottage.

The sponsor this time is The East Wind and the DT have made awesome cards using one of their images, so please hop over and see all the lovely creations.

This is my card with 3 butterflies.

Let it snow at Christmas

Good afternoon friends,
Well nothing is further from my mind than snow, but for challenge #3 at The 12 months of Christmas I needed a card with snow, so this is what I have made.

I used red cardstock and matted some patterned paper with snowflakes onto that.
The image is Sammie Snowman from Lexi's Creations. I think she might have closed down. Coloured with Distress inkpads added some texture to the hat and lots of glitter.
Cut a star diecut and embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder. Sanded the embossing slightly and again added some glitter.
Added 3 diecut snowflakes with...you guessed it...glitter.

Good morning friends,
Firstly I would love to say a warm welcome to me newest followers. It is so lovely to have you join my special group of friends and I hope you will pop in often, as friends do.

This week at The Outlawz  we are being challenged by Susan with this picture. For the colour challenge
this week we are to use the Irish Flag as our inspiration and there is no twist.
Our sponsor is Sweetpea Stamps and the DT have made some lovely cards with the images provided us.

As it is just a few days from St. Patrick's Day, I have used the image St Patrick Hooty.

Paper - The coloured card was made with distress inkpads. The patterned paper was a freebie a number of years back, and sadly I did not save the name of whoever I got it from.

Image was coloured with Distress inkpads.

Sentiment is also a freebie and I have no name. When I started collecting freebies, I never thought of saving the source...how silly of me.

Finished off with ribbon and brads.

A new colour challenge at The Outlawz

Hello my friends,
Here I am with the first colour challenge at The Outlawz for March. My word, I can hardly believe that 2 months of this year are history.

This challenge is again a regular challenge, with 3 colours and a twist. Laurian has chosen the inspirational photo and the twist is to add some shine.

Being a new month we also have a new sponsor. Sweet Pea Stamps

The DT have made some gorgeous cards for inspiration, so please pop over and have a look. We really would love you to join in this fun challenge.

This is my card using a Sweet Pea digi image, and the layout is using a sketch of Sketch Saturday.

Paper - from my stash
The diecut behind the image was done with one of my first CB dies,  that I have had for years.

Image - Dragonluck I printed it onto a shiny light green paper and tried colouring a little with Distress inkpads, but it wasn't too successful. I printed the flower a second time, coloured with pink Tombow pen...worked a little better and mounted that with 3D. The ladybug I also coloured with Tombow pen and added some dimension glaze over it for the shine. I cut it out and then matted it onto a pink scalloped oval. The pink is also a shiny paper. This shiny paper has been in my stash for so long and I hardly ever use it.

The sentiment is from my new set of Marianne Design sentiments.
Finished it off with a small ladybug (the last one...had it for ages) and pearls

Will enter this into some challenges:

The beautiful month of March.

Happy Sunday blogging friends.

1st March, has arrived. I love this month, not just because it is my birthday month, but also as it heralds in the lovely season of autumn. We don't have the beautiful colours that you find in some countries, but we do have the beautiful crisp mornings with the deep blue skies. There is a lovely autumnal feel in the breeze even on those hot late summer days, and the evenings are still lovely for the early evening 'braais' (barbeques). All in all a month to enjoy.

Today I want to share a gift card holder. I saw this idea on my blogging friend Bibiana's blog. I find her blog so full of inspiration.  I needed one for my granddaughter so this is what I came up with.

The square insert was made with paper offcuts like patchwork. It is great fun to do.

The flower was made with a Marianne die. I cut 2 in different colours and then inserted all the small pieces from the alternate colour into the flower outline.

The sentiment was stamped and embossed on a Marianne die.

Finished it off with peeloff corners.

This is such a quick and easy card to make, and I just love the patchwork...uses up all those small pieces and I find it quite relaxing

I will enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Calendar challenge ...Anything goes
Brown Sugar challenge #135...Anything goes
Craft 4 Eternity #215...Emboss it
Crafty Catz challenge #268...Use your dies/punches

Sentimental Sundays #248...Anything goes
Come and Get it challenge...Emboss it
One Stitch at a Time #231...Anything goes with birthdays
