Christmas .....deadline?

Hello friends,
I said that I would be back yesterday, but just didn't get to finishing the card. It almost feels like the Christmas rush at the moment, trying to get certain things done on time.

Well I must admit I did cheat a little. I had started this card before Christmas, but then I really did run out of time, so decided to quickly finish it off. I still have another couple ready for completion, so that will help when I need to use them.

I just can't remember the fold...A diamond...???, will find it and put it up later.
 Here is what I used:

Paper - Green cardstock, and matted red onto that.
Image - Country Crafts and stamps. Stamped and embossed with gold EP, coloured with pencils and cut it out. Mounted with 3D foam dots.
Used peel-off strips and corners to finish.

As it still is March for another few hours, I had best get it into the challenges for March.

Completely Christmas #5...Anything goes
Sister Act Card challenge #50...Anything goes
One Stitch at a time #206...Anything goes
Crafty Catz challenge #224...Anything goes

Wishing you a good evening/day depending on where you are. Hope the week goes well for you, and watch out for tomorrow's tricks. Take care.

Christmas greetings

Happy Sunday friends,
5 days ago, hubby announced that in 9 months time it would be Christmas, which made me realise that I hadn't completed my Christmas cards for this month....late as usual, at least come 25 December, I will have a good number in my stash.

I have committed to make 2 cards a month and this is the first one for March. Digistamps4Joy are running a Christmas challenge. It is run by Desire, one of my teamies. If you haven't yet joined in this challenge, you can start now. This is how it works.

You need to go and check out the details and request your free digi. You make your card and enter it in the challenge blog, then next month you will get another image. So every month that you submit a card you will get an image......Great!!! come December you will have some cards ready for posting. So check it out now. This month the digi was Christmas Paper and this is how I have used it.

Here is what I used.

I made my paper with a stencil and Pan Pastels chalks, then printed my image onto this. Added some berries with Pontura pearl maker.
Matted this onto gold paper and then onto striped paper from my stash.
The ribbon was also some pieces left over from last Christmas, with 3 little wooden Christmas trees that I have had for ages..

I am trying to use up all my bits and pieces for these Christmas cards, so when the new Christmas ranges come into the stores later this year, I might not feel too guilty about buying some of it.

I will enter this in the following challenges:
Completely Christmas challenge #5...Anything goes

Have a great Sunday and take care.

Hello blogging friends!
Another Wednesday has arrived and today I am reminding you all about the challenge #88 at Digistamps4Joy  with the theme ... Vintage.

I have made one of my favourite fold cards, the side step, with the image
Melissa and it can be found HERE.

This is what I used.

Paper: The paper is from Marianne Designs vintage paper block. One piece I have distressed and torn the edges. All edges have been linked with Distress inks Vintage photo and Victorian velvet.

The image was coloured with Distress inks and cut out with a Marianne Design die.
Lace and a silk ribbon bow with a pearl centre was added.

Words were taken from some vintage paper in my stash.

Flowers and leaves were added, also some pearls

I decided to tuck a tag in behind the image with a sentiment.

I do hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see the wonderful cards, made by the DT for your inspiration and we look forward to seeing your lovely  creations.

A boy card

Good morning friends,
I have just realised that this is the last colour challenge at The Outlawz for March.....I can't believe that the first quarter of the year is almost done. and I am sure with all that we are planning the next 3 months will be going equally as fast.

Well onto the said
colour challenge for this week

Ina has selected the lovely colour photo and twist for the challenge

This week is another 'special' challenge and you need only use 3 of the colours in the inspirational photo. The twist is to make a boy card.
When you enter your card, please mention the colours you have used.

The DT have made some lovely 'BOY' cards, so I invite you to go and have a look at their creativity for inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is still Anne Fenton from Anne's Digital Art,
and she has some lovely images, so why not pay her a visit.

So onto my card, and I decided to go with a Handyman theme this week.

Paper..the striped paper was a piece from a swap I did some time back, and had the right colours, although the red is a little brighter on the card.
The Denim paper is from a pack by Marianne Designs...for the Men

The image.. is a stamp from a set by Darcies that I bought when I first started and was visiting my family in The Netherlands. My DIL and I went to a open day at a store and bought it on a special. I stamped it on the denim paper and embossed with black EP, to show up the stitching, then cut it out and raised with foam dots.

The yellow cardstock was inked with distress inkpad using one of my new Memory box stencils

The tools were cut from a Marianne Design die. Cut them once in a grey, then a\the handles in a  colour and attached them, to the tools, colouring the metal parts with a silver metallic pen.

Attached with 'screw' brads, and found a hand eyelet which I used to attach some twine.

The sentiment is also from the same set.

I enjoyed making this fun card and will enter it in the following challenges.

Artistic Inspirations #84...Anything goes
Fitztown challenge #28...Dies/punches
Lexi's Creations...Use dies or punches
My Craft Spot #130...Anything goes
Craftin Desert Diva's challenge Linky party...Brads, buttons, ribbon or twine

CAS ...using a new image

Hello friends,
I am way behind in my postings, but celebrating my birthday on Wednesday and today being a holiday has meant lots of time spent with family and friends. Today was great with our son, DIL and 2 grandsons coming over. I was asked by Jayden the youngest, all of 5 years if I knew how to knit.. and he wasn't satisfied until I got out needles and yarn and showed that I really could knit. Then of course he had to have a go....next question. Granny do you know how to knit a scarf?....I now have 2 scarves to knit, 1 each. A red and a purple...so best I go and get the yarn tomorrow and get started.

Now onto my card. Last Sunday this was one of the new images from Digistamps4Joy, but I just didn't get it finished on time. CAS  is not something I am very comfortable with, but this image just seemed so right for it, and I really had a battle not to add anything else.

I printed the image Daffodil which you can find HERE ran it through the Cuttlebug with this folder, but don't have a name for it.

I coloured it with Distress inks.

The edges of the card were coloured with Distress ink..peeled paint.

Stamped the sentiment

This will be entered in the following challenges.

Up and away......

Hello friends,
It is now late afternoon, had wanted to get this done early in the day, but the best laid plans .....you know how it goes. At least I got the photo done earlier so I can now just get it all on here.

Well another grey day, no rain yet today, but rather cool with wind... Since the 1st of March we have had just over 200mm of rain (well over our average for the month) and we have only had 3 days including today with not a drop. Lots of areas are flooded, dams bursting and people cut off being recued by helicopters. We must be grateful to have a home and be dry.

Methinks our last days of summer have disappeared and we will now be fully into autumn when this rain departs, which is not for another 4 -5 days we are told. We do at least hope for some nice warm autumn days.

Today's card is made with one of the new images released last Sunday at
Digistamps4Joy
. I just couldn't manage to get it done before now.  I just thought this was a great image for someone moving house. and it is called "home in the sky"

I embossed the background paper with a clouds embossing folder, which I had first sponged over with distress inkpad, stormy sky.
Coloured the image with distress inkpads, cut it out, and mounted it with silicone. Attached bakers twine with a button and added buttons in the corners.
Sentiment is from Netty's Cards.Annette has a lovely range of sentiments that are free to download.

I will enter this in some challenges:
Crafty Girls challenges #13...Anything goes
Aud Sentiments #102...Anything goes
Penny's challenge #168...Anything goes

Lavender & Lace

Hello my blogging friends.
I am back again with my DT card for challenge #90 at Let's Craft and Create and the theme is ...lavender and lace.

For my card I decided to create my own background paper using a new stencil from Memory box and my Pan Pastels. I do like how this has come out, so will use it more often. Matted this onto a purple cardstock and attached some lace from my huge stash of lace. ...will I ever work through it all, but I need to remember to use it
.
The sentiment is from a sheet of Joycraft clear stamps...also new, stamped and cut out with a Nellie Snellen die cut, which I just love . Inked the edges. A lavender ribbon and pearls to finish.

I hope you will come and join in this challenge, and it has been decided that our challenges will last for a month, so you have until 8th April to enter.....but don't leave it till the last minute, come and have a look at the cards made by the DT. We would love to see your creations.

Green for the Irish

Good morning friends,
Today is a real autumn day, except we shouldn't be having this much rain. For over a week now we have had rain, rain and more rain. It is rather unusual for us at this time of year and we definitely are not used to having no sun for days on end. The forecast is to be clearing on Wednesday...I do hope so and maybe a few more warm 'last days of summer' will be most welcome.

Next week all over the world St Patrick's day will be celebrated, and as I don't have any Irish connections, I do have a special fondness for the day. All my schooling was at Convents and the Irish nuns always made it a special day, also at one of the parishes I attended the Irish priests certainly celebrated the day with great Irish coffees included. Our very best friends of about 40 years are Irish and this card is going to them.

This week Digistamsp4Joy is sponsoring the challenge at Artistic Inspirations and you could be the lucky winner of 5 images, so why not go and join in the challenge.

I made a Double Dutch fold for a change.

Paper...I used various pieces from DoCrafts, Marianne Design and LeCrea Design

Die cuts were made using X-cut for the front greeting, JoyCrafts label for the front image and Nellie Snellen for the inside image.

Sentiments inside and outside were printed on the PC

Added some ribbon, gems and pearls.

Images from DS4J..
On the front..St. Patrick's day, inside..Flowers from Heaven and you can find them HERE. They were coloured with Distress inkpads, Twinkling H20's and a touch of glitter.

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

Challenges 4 Everybody #39...Anything goes
Scribble and Scrap challenge #13...Anything goes
That Craft Place...Anything goes
Open-minded Crafting fun challenges #5...Use something green
Time for scrap challenge...St. Patrick's day

It's a birthday card at Digistamps4Joy

Good morning all,
Hopefully it is a good one...it is Wednesday, so that has to be good and it is a new challenge at DS4J, so that has to be very good and it is my Birthday month, so that is even better.

This time I have the honour of hosting  challenge # 87 at Digistamps4Joy, and as I said it happens to be my birthday month, so the theme I have chosen is ..Your creation has to have a birthday sentiment.

For my card this week I have used the image..Umbrella bouquet and you can find it  HERE.  I  Coloured it with Distress inkpads and then brushed pearl acrylic paint very lightly over the umbrella. I wanted a satin kind of look and added frosted lace to the edge. Cut it out and mounted with silicone.
The fancy edge was cut with a Marianne Design die. It is a new one I only got last week and used it to cut the other edge of the card as well.
The sentiment is from one of my blogging friends Hannelie who lives in Dubai.
Finished off with pearls.

We would love you to enter this challenge.all you have to do is make a card for someone with a birthday sentiment.  If you use a DS4J  image, you will have an extra chance in the draw, but you may enter with any image, digital or a rubber stamp.

The DT have made some really lovely cards for inspiration, so please pop over and leave them some love.

Lucky we are not low down so not much chance of flooding, but I think some parts near here will be having problems with road closures.

Take care and see you soon. Thanks for visiting..lovely to have you pop in.

Add flowers to your colour challenge at The Outlawz

Good morning friends,
All my blogging friends in the Northern Hemisphere I know you are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring, but my goodness we didn't need to have autumn arrive just yet. The last 2 days has been non stop soft rain, no sun and rather cool temps and today has started in the same way. I hope this isn't going to be the last of our summer rains and I am sure we will still have some lovely late summer days, but the  mornings the last week or so have been very 'autumnish'...cool and crisp.

Today is another  colour challenge at The Outlawz.
The lovely inspirational photo and colours were chosen by
Roxann with the twist to add flowers.

We are also very lucky to have been given lovely images to work with by Ann from Anne's Digital Art Anne is also sponsoring the prize for the winners this month.

The DT have made beautiful cards for your inspiration, so we challenge you to come and join us. It is a great challenge this week...lovely colours and flowers...now what could be easier.

I used blue cardstock and the yellow paper I coloured myself. Stamped a flower stamp with Watermark stamp pad and the coloured it with Pan Pastels in 2 shades of yellow.
The image I coloured with Distress ink pads and cut out with a Nellie Snellen MFD, coloured the edges
Punched out flowers in yellow and blue with a pearl drop in the centre

New images today at DS4J

A happy Sunday to all my fellow bloggers.
I hope your weekend is going well We have had some lovely soft soaking rain yesterday and possibly some more today. As we are drawing near to the end of our rainy season we welcome whatever comes our way. It was also a lot cooler yesterday, we enjoyed it, but not yet ready for real autumn weather, so hope the sun is out with some warmth today.

It is another Sunday, the 1st one in March and there are several new releases at Digistamps4Joy. The one I have chosen to use is great for those masculine cards we all need to make from time to time. Dad's Austin and you can find it HERE

I coloured the image with Distress inkpads, cut it out and mounted onto  embossed cardstock and this was attached with brads. The DP is from a pad of Marianne Design
The sentiment is computer generated and cut with a MD ticket die....I only saw when posting it that it wasn't cut very straight.
3 pearls to finish off.

The DT have made some really super cards with a few of the new images and you can see them HERE. Great inspiration.

Just remember that DS4J have a reward points system. For every $10 spent, you earn $1 in rewards towards your next purchase..so buying is fun.
