Something new challenge #98 at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Wednesday friends,
Today we are having a 'NEW' challenge at Digistamps4Joy
I am honoured to be the host of this challenge and I chose the theme 'Celebrate something new'. Now I am sure you can all find something new to celebrate...maybe a new baby, car, house, job, pet or anything else.
We would love you to come and share it with us. The DT have all found something new for their cards to inspire you, so would love you to come along and play with us this week.

You do not have to have a DS4J image, but would love you to use one if you have. You would then get a chance at the main prize, of $10 of  digi images, but you DO have to use an image of some kind to enter. Look forward to seeing lots of 'new' entries.

For my card this week I have used a new digi drawn by Riette our NEW artist at DS4J.
Riette is also a member of the DT, and this was the first image she drew for us. It can be found HERE

Hubby and I have decided to retire and we will be leaving our home of almost 49 years, and packing up my craft business of 20 years. What a task!!!
We are moving to a retirement village and our new home will be ready in 2 to 3 weeks, but a little bit of a hiccup in the selling of our old one means that we will move over slowly over a period of a few weeks. Fortunately it is only about 10kms away, so daily trips will be the order of the day. We will also be able to start the new garden, as it is now coming into spring....looking forward to a very exciting time. Now on to my card. I have made a 'new home' card...no surprise there.

 

I used kraft card for the 1st layer.

I then embossed my tree - I need to find out whose folder this is. Coloured the tree with distress inks and added some light clouds in the background.

The image is 'Birdhouse' coloured with distress inkpads and cut out. Mounted with silicone.

The fence and larger birds are Marianne Design dies.

The smaller birds are Memory box

Butterflies, used a Nellie Snellen punch

Sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped onto an Xcut label, mounted with butterfly brads.

Added some Pontura pearlmaker for the flower centres and bird eyes.
