Anything goes at Digistamps4Joy

Hi friends and a happy Wednesday to you all,
I think winter has decided to show its face here in my part of the world, as it has been a lot cooler and last night we even had a sprinkling of rain....not sure where that came from...we don't have rain in winter, well not usually.
Well enough about the weather, now about the latest challenge at DS4J. This is a midway reminder for Digistamps4Joy  challenge #92...Anything goes, hosted by Margy the owner and artist.

Please remember you do not have to use a DS4J image on your entry, but of course you will need to use one to win the BIG prize and a digi image or a stamped one is a requirement to enter the challenge.

Now on to my card. I decided to go with a nautical theme this time.

It is a normal square card, but I added a built in stand.

Paper - Dark blue cardstock, with DP on the inside
I cut out the centre with a Nestability die, and then used the same set to cut a frame in white cardstock. I covered the frame with texture paste and then went over it with gold and bronze Pan Pastels.

Image - I used sailboat and anchor and you can find them HERE. I cut the sailboat image out with the same die I used on the front and mounted this onto the inside of the card. Coloured the image with Distress inks, added clouds and a few birds. I embossed the lower part with a CB folder to give the wavy effect and shaded this with Pan Pastels as well.

The anchor was also coloured with distress inks and added some Pan Pastel pewter for a metal look.

Sentiment - Happy Birthday was cut with my new Impression Obsession die.

Twine and a charm to finish.

I hope you will come and join in this easy challenge. Have a look at the DT cards, they are full of inspiration.

  21. Love the design super details.

As for the stand I am really impressed, as I find the "tent" style cards tend to slip open, this would help that problem. Thanks for the idea.
