A new baby

Happy Saturday friends,
I hope you are all enjoying a lovely Saturday and relaxing, crafting, whatever as long as you are having fun.
Today I have a baby card, in fact 2 cards. We have had a new addition to our family...extended that is. My nephew and his wife had a little boy on Tuesday and Tristan is the first granchild for my SIL and BIL so needless to say they are thrilled.
The first card is for the new Mom and Dad and little baby and the second is for the proud grandparents.

I made this to enter in the CDAC progressive freebie challenge.
I used the sketch from  Creative Craft challenge
The image is from Mami Doodles and I just thought he was the cutest little bear for this card..coloured with aquarelle pencils and cut with an X-cut die, mounted with foam pads.
The papers I used are from "Me to you"... especially for you.
Sentiments are computer generated
finished off with brads, ribbon and a charm all from my stash.

I also decorated the inside with a lovely little poem "Why God made little boys"

I am entering this into the following challenges

My next card is for the proud Grandparents of Tristan

The papers I used were from my stash so don't have any names.
The image is a House Mouse stamp and was given to me by a blogging friend. Coloured with aquarelle pencils. The sentiment is computer generated and finished off with ribbon, brads and buttons.
I am entering this card in the following challenge:

Creative Belli blog..for a child

Sorry the photos are not that fantastic, the cards do look a lot better... but I needed to get the cards away, so had to take them last night.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,,,take care. Hope to see you soon.

  1. Hi, Ursula! What an adorable card...love the inked frame and the so very cute teddy bear! Absolutely precious!

Thanks for your comments on my blog, as always... :)
I don't know if I can answer your question about the watercolor paper but I do know the pad I have from the art store is cold pressed and it has a very high texture or grain. The new paper I bought at Michael's yesterday has very little texture and says that this texture reduces "feathering". I guess the hot pressed is rolled through rollers in the processing which gives it a smoother texture. I googled it and found this explanation:

Also, we stamped our images with Versamark and heat embossed them so they sort of created little "wells" for the inks. I still had some "feathering" or bleeding but not much. It was a fun class!

    Have a good weekend!
